Can we appreciate the lunacy of season 9's plot so far?

>Bird man piles up diamonds to mine later

>Some of his neighbours also do this, but with more diamonds

>Neighbourhood-wide competition ensues

>Minor "war" over this, including missiles, portals and australian physics

>War ends, diamonds collected

>Everyone now has so many diamonds they have lost value

>Guy who is possibly part dog declares himself a king, and has everyone hand over all diamonds

>Dog Guy sets up a quest system with the diamonds as rewards

>Economy re-stabilises

> Dwarf hosts a DoomGuy themed party in Dog Guy's basement

>Dog Guy goes mad with power, recruits Zombie puppet-master, Flying Gun Vigilante, Literal Basement-Dweller (Positive) and Joe Hills. He also bans partying

>Local soup-obsessed Dwarf, Elf and Janitor start a revolution based on a vague interpretation of a prompt from a moustache-themed robot from another dimension.

>They recruit Birdman to assist their resistance and assassinate the King

>Civil unrest leads to a full scale revolt and raiding of the King's vault

>The King is killed by the elf and freed from a curse that made him evil

>Moustache Robot reopens dimensional tear and shenanigans ensue, including the Janitor being a Goddess

>Other dimensional visitors follow them back through the portal, hang out for a few weeks, and leave.

>A trading card game exists and is actually pretty cool

So, I Feel Like Im Losing My Mind. I Keep Seeing Metas About How Aziraphale Wants Crowley To Return To

So, I feel like I’m losing my mind. I keep seeing metas about how Aziraphale wants Crowley to return to Heaven and be an angel again because he wants them to be on the same side/be good/change/etc., etc., etc. but I don’t see that at all. I actually see it as the very opposite.

Aziraphale loves Crowley just as he is. But there’s something more. Something huge.

Aziraphale loves Crowley and because he is an angel who is stuck in seeing things as black and white, he constantly praises Crowley for being nice. For being good. For being kind.

Aziraphale has watched Crowley on and off for 6,000 years. He watched him thwart the plans of Heaven and Hell because it was unjust. He spared the lives of innocents. He did small things that made Aziraphale happy just because (like making Hamlet successful and saving valuable books). And because Aziraphale sees things in black and white, he sees all the things Crowley has done as nice, as good, as kind.

Crowley vehemently attests he’s not nice or good or kind.

He’s not exactly wrong nor is he lying when he says this. When Crowley spares goats during a cruel bet over a righteous man and swallowing laudanum to prevent a suicide, when he prevents Armageddon by working with Aziraphale and stopping the Anti-Christ from being the Anti-Christ, he’s not doing the nice/good/kind thing.

He’s doing the right thing.

Crowley chooses to do the right thing without hesitation. He is better than all of Heaven and Hell who have callous and dispassionate view of all existence because he questions, because he makes choices. Crowley sees the world for all its messiness and he sees himself. He sees a place where he fits in. He sees the blurred edges.

And Aziraphale sees that, even if seeing the blurred edges is hard for him.

But here’s the thing that Aziraphale can’t voice.

It’s the reason why he told Crowley about being allowed to return to Heaven and become an angel again. He doesn’t want Crowley to change. He doesn’t think Crowley is flawed. Or not enough.

It’s something that is so monumental that it cannot be put into words. Because to put it into words would be more than blasphemy. It’s down right unthinkable for anyone in Heaven, Hell, or Earth to say what Aziraphale knows deep in his soul.

God was wrong to cast out Crowley.

Aziraphale believes Crowley can/should return to Heaven because he knows that Crowley should never have fallen in the first place. He wants him to be forgiven because when Crowley fell it was unjust. Aziraphale is trying to correct a mistake. He’s trying to do the right thing.

Yes, Crowley would never accept returning to Heaven. And Aziraphale was wrong to even suggest it (although that conversation is another can of worms to unpack).

Aziraphale loves Crowley. He loves him exactly as he is. He doesn’t want him to change. Aziraphale knows that Crowley the best of all of them. He wants to change Heaven because of it. Because God was wrong and Aziraphale knows it.

Aziraphale may have difficulty seeing beyond black and white, but when it comes to Crowley he sees everything crystal clear and in vivid color.

Regarding the new expiramental update:

I think it definitely a step. Though maybe a bit rough. The idea is good. My main issue is that it doesnt really fix anything? Trading in Minecraft isn't fun its tedious. And making it slightly more tedious doesn't help the issue. The other thing is that people like the hermits aren't the norm. Most players don't have hours to make huge farms so they can fly for 10000s of blocks to find a persific biome. Not to mention the challenges if you dont even have an elytra. But even if non of that matters the villagers will still end up in trading hall at the end of the day. It'll just take a little longer. And thats not fun.

The more I think about it the more I think villagers ai should just get an overhaul. Where we stand right now villagers serve as much purpose as a cow. And we treat them as such. As cruel as it is. One of the main reasons for why they are put in two by one wholes is because they die so easily. The amount of times I have come across a village and half of the population are just stuck in a whole, or in the well or on top of a hill.

All this to say, I am glad that mojang are at least thinking about villagers because they deserve better.

Death predictions:

Tubbo- eventually the group won’t be able to justify his continued survival like he’s already cheated death on several occasions.

Eloise- I don’t know. This character feels tragic. Something is gonna go wrong. You’re gonna sacrifice yourself for your friends aren’t you.

Scott or Acho but not both- they already killed a lesbian couple day one. They’re gonna separate these two. I can feel it.

Survival predictions:

Scar- you cannot kill him in a way that matters

Owen- main character lookin ass (also needs to be constantly present online because this server’s code is held together by paper clips and craft glue and literally nothing works)

Krow- only surviving member of the Kites with any amount of brain cells and I think that at least one person from every faction will live to the end.

Olive- GO OLIVE GO!!!! GO OLIVE GO!!!’ (Translation: I am an unrepentant Olivesleepy Stan and will not be normal)

the thing about joe hills of nashville tennessee is that on a server of folks roleplaying mad scientists and zombies and kings and creeper-goats and kakashi of naruto and mayors and businessmen and slimes and iskall and dungeon masters and doom guy and dwarves and elves and aliens and whatever the gigaverse is, you have Joe Hills The Regular Human Guy From Nashville (Tennessee), and yet his normalcy is frequently more bizarre somehow than whatever else is going on. and this never ever fails to enchant and delight me.

Ludinus is really stupid. He knows the Predathos was locked behind a proto-divine gate, a LITERAL GOD EATER wasn't able to break out of its prison without the interference of Mortal men.

What does he think is gonna happen when Predathos is free? Does he truly believe that it's strong enough to break through a far stronger and more advanced Divine gate?

Like what is more likely to happen, a starved creature being able to bust through a gate, not even the Primes or Betrayers, are able to get through and eat ALL of them then piss out to the next planet?

Or

A starved Predathos breaks free and sees a whole lot of humanoids that possess divine abilities and decides to have themselves a little snack before regaining enough energy to get through the divine gate. And even if the divine gate is broken through, now you have a full-scale Calamity 2.0 that will have far more casualties?

A lot of yall who are in support of Ludinus' ideas are backing a man, that let years of child abuse slide under the hands of Ikithon slide because he was useful. A man who brought about the destruction of Molaesmyr and displaced hundreds and killed many. A man who was willing to START A WAR over artifacts that were not his, in the name of magical pursuits. But some of yall let it slide because "Gods are bads :("

Like the Gods aren't perfect, and the majority of critisms of the Gods are more so critics of religious institutions and monopolies, rather than the literal beings. But genocide, no matter how compelling, isn't gonna work.

Laudna and Orym are right in that the destruction of the Gods will create a power vacuum, and something much worse will fill it. As well as all the religious trauma many have faced are at the hands of other humanoids, not the Gods directly.

have hit a record 13 times yelling "UGGHHHHH PLEASE SHUT UP ABOUT WHETHER THE MURDEROUS NARCISSISM CULT HAS A FUCKING POINT THEY'RE MASS MURDERERS" at the TV, every time it comes up I feel like my brain is disintegrating

"I'll take my chance with a vacuum" well how nice for you! maybe you'll be shielded from the successful wizard power-grab or the destruction of the planet (??) but lots of people won't be! Poor Orym, exercising iron control while pointing out that actually it's mortal followers of gods who actually do the bad shit, just like the mortal fuckface archmage who's, oh yeah, happy to destroy everyone else as long as he gets his way, could we focus please??

Also, "probably the cult will miraculously whisk the reality-destroying eldritch horror elsewhere before it destroys the planet that sounds right even though we have literally no evidence of it!" where did that come from?? also in what way would that justify all the MURDERS?? what is happening??? absent meta shenanigans this shit makes me assume the character in question is Evil!

...this chunk of the campaign has been A Struggle, friends

critical role spoilers kinda but

not really a fan of the whole “none of the characters are particularly faithful and all of the players have constantly been at odds with gods for what honestly felt like a misunderstanding of the world from campaign 1″ going around all “yeah actually all the gods should die, fuck the millions of people who need that purpose in their life” vibe of late

Based on this episode, I think it’s clear that the gods are not the problem or the bad guys. It’s the people that are the problem.

I think we, and possibly the players, already know this because we have witnessed the events of VM and MN and know that the prime deities are caring. Even with their brief interactions with FCG and Deanna it’s clear that the gods are afraid, and are rallying their followers to not just save them, but save the world they live on.

All of the negative experiences with the prime deities are not with the gods themselves, but with the people who spread their word. The ruby vanguard didn’t have a bad encounter with a god to make them turn against them, it was people who made them feel like they had no free will.

The gods sit beyond the divine gate and only grant power to their most devoted followers (which is a power imbalance in of itself, but that’s a topic for another day), but if you aren’t religious, the gods leave you alone. It’s the people who don’t leave you alone.

This village was living peaceful lives with spirits, and I would bet a lot in the idea that the gods didn’t care about what they did. It was the people who had a problem with it, not the gods.

The people of Exandria can inherit the world, and it might be better for it, but the gods would still be there. They would guide those who believe in them and let the others go about their business.

There is nothing wrong with most of the people who worship the gods. After all we have Pike, Cad, Fjord, and now FCG who use their guidance to help others, but there are many who use their gifted blessings from the gods to seize control over others.

I don’t blame Vasselheim for hiding the information about Ruidus, because if that was out in the open Ludinus and maybe the whole Cerberus Assembly or other horrible people would be releasing Predathos much sooner.

It’s fun food for thought and it really puts this world in a new perspective for the future of C3 and other future stories in Exandria.

ludinus is SO teenage-girl-from-your-class-that-bullied-you-coded. id say i wont elaborate further BUT I WILL: calling all the people hes EVER met who could come close to stopping him to see his grand plan succeeding (beau, caleb; like he only needed keyleth to get vax but he still wanted the empire zaddies to watch(i dont blame him)), NOT knowingWHAT he was doing with the ruidus-ritual. like girly pop. ALSO most importantly he WISHED TO BE BORN under the CURSED EVIL EVIL EVIL TOTALLY CURSED moon out of SPITE TO THE GODS. his reasoning for WANTING to be cursed was "UGH mom and dad DONT GET ME ugh". ALSO i bet ludinus is not even his real name like he made that shit up its way too close to ruidus like its good branding but hey ludinus girl im WATCHING you!!!!!!!

between ashton and deni$e, i think it’s just canon now that perpetually pissed barbarians are inherently capable of seeing directly through orym’s facade and knowing he’s going to fucking snap if someone doesn’t give him a hug and a break asap

Ashton's rock hard certainty that their group is going to reunite with their friends no matter what kind of reminds me of his mindset when Laudna had just died and they were trying to get her back. With the difference that this time round I think a lot of it stems from wanting to provide comfort and hope to a desperate, close to breaking Laudna (because frankly I feel like Ashton is coping with the lost-their-friends-situation almost a bit too well? I feel like this caring, protective marshmallow hiding inside a though ass looking shell is trying to be strong and certain so as to protect Laudna, who's scared out of her mind with worry).

When Laudna had died however, I think he didn't voice this mindset to comfort somebody else. Because, with the exception of Imogen, the other members of Bell's Hells didn't seem as shaken by Laudna's death as Imogen and him or as Laudna now by Imogen's potential death. And I don't think that comforting Imogen is where this mindset came from either. To me it doesn't seem like the two of them were terribly close at the moment of Laudna's death, but more like they grew closer because of her death, due to their shared stubborn unwillingness to let Laudna remain dead. No, I think Ashton was trying to keep themself from breaking and instead find a practical way of how to deal with this situation and change it for the better.

And it's kind of sweet that they're now offering this mechanism of theirs of how to cope with losing a loved one to the loved one they themself lost, but got back. Clearly stubbornness and unwavering belief in eventually getting your lost loved one back works, Laudna is "living" proof of it.

I hope this makes sense, it's kind of late and I really should be going to bed.... 😅🙈

I'm sure no one meant it to be as heartbreaking as it was, but the whole process in Grian's episode where he dies

I'm Sure No One Meant It To Be As Heartbreaking As It Was, But The Whole Process In Grian's Episode Where

Then he respawns back in Hermitopia, and he has no gear and so he has to swim back to the rift

And he's cheering every time that one of the hermits escape and pass through safely back over to Hermitcraft through the rift

And then he sees this

I'm Sure No One Meant It To Be As Heartbreaking As It Was, But The Whole Process In Grian's Episode Where

And at first he doesn't realise what it's doing

I'm sure he could immediately recognise it was a tnt flying machine but he pulls himself up to the bridge and watches and realises

I'm Sure No One Meant It To Be As Heartbreaking As It Was, But The Whole Process In Grian's Episode Where

It's aimed at his boy

Grian: Why have you done this to my little Grumbot?!

I'm Sure No One Meant It To Be As Heartbreaking As It Was, But The Whole Process In Grian's Episode Where

It's heartbreaking and damnit it's just so much that's his son, sure he may be a little evil, but that's HIS BOY AAAAAAAAAA

And he's desperately clawing his way back instead, and he's trying to grab as much blocks he can and all the emperors are calling to hold him down, to stop him, to kill him

And he does die, and he respawns back and he scrambles to the chests to grab anything to pillar up with

And he's building and building and he's panicked and pillars the wrong place but he's getting there and then

I'm Sure No One Meant It To Be As Heartbreaking As It Was, But The Whole Process In Grian's Episode Where
I'm Sure No One Meant It To Be As Heartbreaking As It Was, But The Whole Process In Grian's Episode Where

He's not able to save him and he throws himself of the pillar to die too and just

Just finished taking notes on Jimmy’s episode today (S2 Ep 23) and I’m just… I’m looking at that interaction between e!fWhip and e!Jimmy… they’re so…

It’s the way that fWhip is constantly on the defensive. “Why are you following me?” and “Is there anything wrong about that?” It’s how he doesn’t actually hit Jimmy back after Jimmy crits him with his netherite sword, how he only draws his bow and backs away. How he fires a warning shot to keep Jimmy away from him, but doesn’t attempt to actually hit him, and how as they talk, fWhip draws his mace, but crouches as he gets close to Jimmy. To me, it reads like he’s saying ‘I’m prepared to fight you, but I don’t want to’ [11:30].

It’s the way that fWhip leads Jimmy to Gobland, and says that it feels strange to be bringing Jimmy back to his empire on friendly terms. It’s how Jimmy says “Okay… well we used to be! We used to be good… we… used to be good.” and fWhip replies “Yeah, we used to be… really good friends, really really good friends…” [13:21]. This wistful exchange about how they used to be…

It’s the way Jimmy sees the sign in Gobland and asks- almost pleads, for fWhip to take it down. It’s fWhip saying “I think I’m gonna leave it up as a warning, because I’m a little… worried about you, cause you did try and murder me.” And Jimmy accepts his no- he doesn’t push [13:43].

It’s how, when Jimmy puts the hat back on, he asks fWhip if he looks good in it. And fWhip’s voice goes soft as he says “You do look good. You look pretty good, you look pretty good, yeah. It- it’s nice to have it back, for you.” Even after taking the hat, he still finds that it’s home really is with Jimmy. He finds that he missed seeing Jimmy wear it, almost [14:08].

And it’s the way that, when Jimmy asks about his sheriff badge, and fWhip stammers and brushes it off and tries to redirect, that Jimmy chooses to let it go. He allows fWhip to redirect him without getting upset- allows them to continue on with the good terms they’re tentatively forging. fWhip even directly mentions the deputy badge, and even still, Jimmy doesn’t get up in his face about it. It’s like he’s savoring this moment that they’re having, of finally being on the same side again [14:24].

And fWhip goes on to ask him what the plan is, and Jimmy rattles off his idea, and fWhip says it’s a good plan. It’s the way that, even after all this time, fWhip still concedes to Jimmy’s leadership [14:44].

I just… I think about them…

On one hand the hermits play Minecraft on a level I can not conceive of, they are artists in the medium of this game, revolutionizing it and pushing the limits of what is possible.

On the other hand their collective nether portal floats precariously above a tiny sheep pen, and must be reached via parkour. And most of them fail it.
