For those of you who need it

I know I said yesterday in a post that I would update a few things, but I’m honestly struggling to find proper words at the moment. 

I did however update The Devil’s Sons on my AFF account, so if there is anyone who is reading that and just wants the distraction or the story as a means to cope, then the link to that is here. I will post it on tumblr this week, at some point.

The main reason I’m writing this is to say, I am here for anyone who needs it. You can send me an anon if that helps, or a direct message, or contact me on kakao. My ID is kaikumin. I rarely sleep, and when I do it’s most likely just for two hours at a time before I wake up again.

The Devil’s Sons [04]

One was sent to damn her into a life of eternal misery. The other was sent to save her. Neither had the intention of loving her.

Jihoon’s stare was intimidating, especially seated across from Sahyun at the same dining room table and she begun to force herself to eat the gray slob from every night as he scrutinized her every feature.

“She’s somewhat healthy.” He commented quietly, quirking a brow as if surprised. “I thought anyone under your care you die simply by living with you.”

Soonyoung groaned from his seat next to her and buried his face in his hands. Sahyun wondered if she should reach out to pat him awkwardly or something, since he looked so genuinely frustrated, but the thought of touching him left her stomach in a symphony of butterflies and she didn’t want to risk losing what little she had managed to eat.

“Must everything out of your mouth be an insult, Jihoon. It’s been nearly seventy years and you still treat me like this when all I’ve tried to do is help you out, and to make amends.”

“You’ve destroyed numerous lives that I’ve tried to save, how could I just forgive and forget and be happy-go-lucky like that?”

Sahyun eyes widened when Jihoon spoke, her mind reeling at the words.

Destroyed? What does that mean?

She frowned as she tilted her head to the side to observe him, her mind so confused and all over the place, it wasn’t like she could’ve figured anything out, even if it were easy enough to do. She saw him look at her from the corner of his eye but he didn’t acknowledge her.

“It’s my job. I didn’t ask for this.”

“Except you did, Soonyoung. Just like I asked for this, and you’ve managed to ruin just about everything.”

The black haired man shook his head furiously at that, irritation building in his already sharp features. “You did choose this life, right along with me, Jihoon. We’re brothers, we started all of this together.”

“Don’t refer to me as your brother.”

Soonyoung was about to open his mouth to speak again when Seungkwan finally had enough of their bickering and huffed, slamming his hands down on the dramatically. “Can you save this same old bitch fight some other time? Soonyoung, if you don’t remember, you called Jihoon here for our little problem.” He waved his hand over at Sahyun almost in a disgusted way, earning a glare from the girl before continuing. “Can we please get on with it so everything can return to normal?”

“Nothing will return to normal at this point, Subordinate.” Jihoon stated, raising a brow at him. “For someone under his wing, you’re awfully rude. If you were under my attention, you wouldn’t be-”

Sahyun let out a sigh, the first sound she had made since Jihoon arrived and everyone paused, turning to her with alertness. She realized quickly that they were mostly concerned, since none of them seemed to know what the real of effects of having a mortal around would be.

When she rolled her eyes and looked away, finding a spot on the wall to stare at to get away from the attention, they all seemed to relax and return to their conversation.

“Seungkwan is right. We can discuss this more later. For now, I need your help figuring out how to safely get her out of the Middleground.” Soonyoung composed himself, and although his voice was calm, Sahyun picked up a hint of a pleading tone laced in his words, and she thought perhaps he truly was a good guy.

“You’ve done a foolish thing, Soonyoung. Honestly speaking, if you wanted to spare her, instead of kidnapping her, you should’ve just called me when it happened. It’s my job to save people from death, remember?”

Jihoon’s words finally seemed to make some of the missing details click inside of her head. She was able to figure out that whoever Soonyoung and Jihoon were, they had a part in the fate of someone’s life, and when she thought back to the almost car accident, she realized that that must have been what Soonyoung was there for that day.

“I was supposed to die.” She breathed, the realization making her chest clench tightly in fear.

She was supposed to die that day. Visiting her parents was supposed to be the last thing she ever did.

But she hadn’t.

Because Soonyoung stopped it from happening.

There was another pause before she heard Soonyoung also sigh, much like she had before. “Yes, you were.”

She wasn’t sure if she was thankful for the news of her survival or stressed. Sahyun knew that she wasn’t ready to die that day, but… if she was meant to, whether or not she was ready wouldn’t have mattered.

‘It isn’t as simple as calling you, Jihoon. I wasn’t the cause of it this time. I was just supposed to watch over and make sure it happened, lest you or another Guardian try to stop it. It happened so quickly.”

“And why exactly did you stop it then? Since you like to claim that fate is so important to you.” Jihoon rose a brow challengingly, crossing his arms. Sahyun turned to him as well, equally as curious to hear the answer. Soonyoung shook his head, his lips forming into a tight line as he seemed to think about it.

“I honestly don’t know.” His eyes shifted over to Sahyun, making eye contact with her properly, and she found herself sinking down under his intense gaze, her muscles tensing. It was as if he were reading everything going on in her head. After a moment, he blinked and turned his head away once more, and just like that, her presence was ignored. She sighed, the tension in her shoulders becoming relaxed. “But I did, and I need a solution.”

Jihoon brought his hand up to his head, combing through his light hair as he pondered something. “From the looks of how calm she is, she’s been here for a while, Soonyoung. At this point, her presence is definitely know and getting her out will be damn near impossible.”

“I was scared you would say that.” The raven-haired man groaned, the stress of everything finally showing on his features. “I’m sorry.”

It didn’t take Sahyun long to figure out that the apology was for her, though she wasn’t quite sure what he was apologizing about, exactly. Was it for saving her life when she was supposed to die? Or for bringing her here without knowing the consequences? Or for everything he’s ever done in his life, ever?

Maybe he was apologizing for all things, and Sahyun was the person who simply got to receive all of the regret for not only herself, but everyone he must have wronged in some type of way. And with how they talked, there must of been quite a few lives taken by his hands alone.

Her eyes shifted to Jihoon and she gasped a little in surprise when she found his eyes staring back at her, just as intense as Soonyoung’s, and perhaps even a little more fierce. She gulped when they slid slowly down her face, encasing of her features to memory, and it felt as if her could actually see through her. Their eyes met again and he squinted at her, a look of determination set in his dark orbs suddenly.

“I may have a solution, but it won’t be an easy one.”

Soonyoung opened his mouth to ask for more information, but his words were cut short when Minghao suddenly stood up, his head in the direction of the door, and Sahyun had to stifle another gasp when she saw that his eyes were glowing a golden-yellow color.

“What’s wrong?” Seungkwan questioned, his hands reaching behind him to grab whatever weapon she didn’t even realize he had concealed. But, before anyone could answer him, Soonyoung’s hand was on her arm, yanking her up and behind him, facing away from the door, faster than she could even register the sound of the door crashing in.

a lot of your shifts clashed and you both ended up taking breaks at the same time

he was funny in this really annoying away

more often than not soonyoung tested your patience

this fucker would not shut up 

but you appreciated the company

you both would share lunch; he liked your food better and you liked his

anyway one thing lead to another and you saw each other outside the workplace too

and he asked you out 

and now you both are dating

NOW THAT WE KNOW HOW YOU BOTH GOT TOGETHER

let’s go back to walmart your workplace

everyone knew you both by this point

and they’d tease you whenever they saw you together during work hours

you worked in toys, soonyoung was next to you in hardware

you hated working in toys, you barely had stuff to do

so you’d go over to his department

where he’d be organising all the hammers and what not 

a permanent scowl on his face

“wow, soonyoung, why the long face”

“do you see these fucking wrenches i dropped one on my foot”

soonyoung would then bitch about how much it hurts 

in fact when is soonyoung not bitching

during breaks

on the way home

in the car

when you visit each other’s departments

soonyoung is always b i t c h i n g

in all honesty you’re pretty much the same

you’re a lot more internalised with your emotions so you aren’t as affected by most things 

you’ve been in retail for more than two years

soonyoung has only worked in retail for a little over TWO MONTHS 

so it’s not surprising that soonyoung is in angry tears when you’re both on break

by the way you take your breaks together

or rather, soonyoung always looks at your schedule and tries to take it at the same time as you do

most of your breaks consist of bitching about the floor manager

customers who think they’re holier-than-thou

or the hardware department heads

whispered disinterest of the higher ups

i’m not even joking when i say soonyoung is crying during his breaks

he is actually crying and bitching and sobbing about how difficult it is

but he can’t quit cause he needs the money to pay for his expenses

and you’re a loving girlfriend so you’re always comforting him 

telling him he’s doing great but if he’s finding it difficult he can move in with you anytime

but soonyoung tries to be positive no matter what

so within a few minutes he’ll be his normal self again

smiling, laughing, talking about music and what not

he’ll get all cuddly and whatever

the other people taking their break at the same time will just look at you like “please stop immediately” 

you’ll push him away

but let’s be honest

the bitch comes back 

and you’re pretty much stuck with a clingy boyfriend

outside your breaks there’s not much chance for affection

but soonyoung will sneak a kiss every now and again

you’ll push him away because

people will see

its not professional behaviour you could gET INTO TROUBLE

its embarrassing especially if its in your department 

cause kids will be there in toys and they’ll see it and make fun of you

you glare at them

you were never good with kids anyway

but soonyoung doesn’t give a fuck

he loves you too much

on the days he’s not in you realise you miss him too much

the workplace is livelier when soonyoung is around

but this is also good cause you can get more work done

when you both deal with difficult customers, the other is usually over to help you calm down

most of the time its him coming over to toys to stop you from shoving kids into big toy baskets help you vent

soonyoung doesn’t get angry as easily but he gets upset

refer to above for how soonyoung is when he’s upset at work

but yeah

being at the workplace with a boyfriend usually makes it a lot better

and sometimes you both escape to the backroom for a little

ehehe >:)

at times your shifts will end at different times 

but you both wait for each other anyway

well he has to usually because you’re the one with the car

and then going out for dinner because why not?? the day was stressful

so you’re both at wendy’s in your uniforms

and the bitching session resumes once more

Notes on writing

I’ll probably officially update my rules pretty soon, but I’ve decided to limit requests to just Seventeen and NCT. I’m going through pretty bad writers block, due to a mix of things going on in my life and my head, and it’s a struggle for me to write, and other groups just... it’s even harder. I will finish the few that I have gotten over other groups, if I can manage to find the words (it might take a while, so please bear with me) and from now on, no more requests for groups other than Seventeen and NCT will be taken, just for the sake of my writing ease. I may return to accepting other groups again once I’m past this, but I can’t guarantee it, and since most of you request Seventeen anyway, it shouldn’t be too off-putting to the majority of my readers.

The being said, I have a lot going on in addition to writers block, which is why I haven’t been updating much at all (and why motivation has been even more low to write).

Christmas just ended, and over the entire month of December, I was working the toy department at Wal-mart by myself, and it was incredibly hectic and stressful, especially since they were also shitty enough to cut my hours while doing that. The combination of this stress and shitty management led me to quit that job, so I am now unemployed, and while I have enough to get by it’s still incredibly difficult for me, right now. Especially since I will be moving two states away by the end of February, and will need to find a job again as quickly as possible, since I’ll be on my own. If anyone has any ideas as to what I could do to help relieve this stress or help me out, let me know, cause I’m  s t r e s s e d.

And, my birthday was last week, so I was out of town as well, and just...

A lot has been going on. My depression is taking its toll on me mentally. I want to write, but when I open my laptop to do so, I just... feel too lost to do so.

That being said, I did manage to finish the next chapter of The Devil’s Sons, which I won’t post until I get another chapter ahead, because I’ve fallen behind and it sucks.

And I’ve asked my friend to force me to stay awake tonight until I finish at least a couple of the requests in my inbox or the next parts to Blooming Flower and Distance (thank you @ohpapiseo).

Also, to top it off, my tumblr has decided not to notify me when I get a new request, so there are some new ones in there I didn’t even know about, and I’m just genuinely sorry it’s taking me so long to get through all of these.

I’m doing my best, and I promise to work as hard as possible to get caught between now and when I move so everything is just... settled.
