عظّموا مقاديركم بالتغافل

Magnify your own worth by being able to ignore [and overlook].

Al-'Arāqī (d.806H) said:

وهذا الكلام مما كان والدي رحمه الله يؤدبني به في مبدأ شبابي حين يرى غضبي من كلمات ترِد عليّ

This is a rule my father (Allāh have mercy on him) would cultivate in me in my youth, whenever he saw my anger due to [distasteful] words others directed at me.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ:

"Charity is due upon every joint of the people for every day upon which the sun rises. Justly reconciling two people is charity. Helping a man with his animal and lifting his luggage upon it is charity. A kind word is charity. Every step that you take towards the mosque is charity, and removing harmful things from the road is charity.”
