A bit of dialogue from Discord a few months ago:

Ornstein: I simply enjoy your father’s company

Lucette: That’s not the only part of my father that you enjoy

Artorias, spitting out his tea: LUCETTE!

*BANGS POTS AND PANS*

*BANGS POTS AND PANS*

Danai Gurira once said that if you put a white man in the midst of a work about a woman or Black people or other marginalized/misrepresented groups, the focus will be on that white man, to the detriment of the main characters whose stories are being told. Stiles Stilinski and Jaskier from The Witcher truly seem to be the perfect examples of that.

Lucette and Marriage

Over the course of Lucette’s life, she has been pursued for marriage by many God kin men. For lustful and/or political interests, not caring at all about the woman herself who they were pursuing. They didn't even bother with her interests, trying instead to make her like their own interests.

Some tried to "tame" the young she-wolf.

Others were curious about Artorias' "human pet" and were hoping to snag an easy obedient wife and gain more potilitcal leverage and power through her connection to Artorias in one fell swoop.

And all failed. But not without causing some damage on her.

Lucette loves very deeply and fiercely and had to endure a few heartbreaks.

At first, she wasn't stressed about it since she was living life, but eventually it did get to her. The more it wore her down, the more she scoffed whenever a suitor tried to pursue her

Until Koray. Koray was one of the very very few that was genuinely interested in what she liked and wanted. Koray was the only one who respected her autonomy.

Koray cared about the fiery mind inside that beautiful head. He pondered over the many possible thoughts passing behind those blue eyes. He wanted to know them, all of them. And if not all, as many as she wished to confessed to him.

Ultimately, THAT’S how he got Lucette and proved himself to Artorias that he genuinely loves his daughter and respects her.

Lucette: I would hope that you never try take away my bow and arrows, if you were to gain my hand.

Koray: I would hope that I'm wise enough to know better than to do such a foolish thing. Lest I wish to choke on my blood in the middle of a night. A husband who’s throat is slit by his wife was no doubt one that was lacking severely.
