Fuck Air Canada. Honestly, The Worst Fucking Air Travel I've Ever Flown With. Our First Flight Was Delayed
Fuck Air Canada. Honestly, the worst fucking air travel I've ever flown with. Our first flight was delayed 7 HOURS. Upon landing it took 1.5 hours to get us off the plane. Then the pass they gave us for a hotel took 2 hours to find, they gave us no directions. We have a flight at 6am and we're still checking in, it's 9:30, we haven't eaten. Either way fuck Air Canada, I'll update in the morning.

The Warrior Meets Death
“Hey” The warrior Grunted
“Its been too long” Death replied
“yeah i guess” the warrior ansered nervously scratching the back of his neck, “ooh havent had this good reach in a long time.”
Death stiffled a giggle, “even here you try to make me smile”
“i cant help it that im the funniest one to ever meet you,” the Warrior chuckled back, even then you must have trained 23 hundred years to bring me here.”
Deaths smile faded slightly, “I didnt bring you here.”
“heh?” the Warrior gasped
“If it were up to me no one would have to be brought here, ever. Most people just show up, Im just here to catch those who fall from the world,” Death clarified.
“Oh,” the warrior grasped.
…
…
…
“Do you think they’ll know?” The warrior questioned, “Like how much i care about them? I never really made it obvious”
Death smiled, “see for yourself” she gestured to a panel behind her.
And Though it the Warrior saw them, Ten Million of them marching into battle, creating huge structures, plowing fields, writing legends, sing songs, all to tell the tale of the warrior. And the Warrior wept, his head finally filled again with the voices, all crying out for him.
“will they be okay without me?” the warrior shakenly begged for an answer,
“In time yes,” Death replied, “but it will take time”
…
…
“can i stay a little longer just to make sure” the warrior pointed at the panel
“take all the time you need” Death consoled

To my other trans guys out there, do you ever just get an extreme urge to be cis? Like, to just have a dick, be flat, not having to deal with all of this? Like, I'm proud of who I am, and I think being trans is fucking badass. Usually I just want to alleviate my dysphoria and make myself the man I wanna be. But other times I just, ugh, idk, wanna be cis. Idk, this is a ramble.
YES. THIS. I love Billy, I really do, but he was denied a proper redemption arc. I love Steve's, it was done well (if not a little fast imo) but I would love to see more like his.
Sidenote, I don't totally agree with the Snape stuff but I don't wanna get into it (blah blah blah trauma, blah blah blah comfort character [in middle school])
I think one of the reasons I love Steve's storyline so much is that they didn't kill him off like they had planned in S1! Like, he really was a very shitty person in the beginning, but instead of some heroic sacrifice that redeemed him for everything, he was forced to grow up, to ask for forgiveness from those he had wronged.
I have always had a problem with most 'villain redemption arcs' because 99% of them end with the villain/shitty person making the right decision in the end, and automatically being forgiven.
Like, think about Billy. Sure, he had trauma and was a complicated person, but he made Max's life hell. He broke her stuff, yelled at her, and I even got the impression he may have hurt her in the past. But all that was forgiven by everyone when he made one decision to sacrifice himself! Now, I am not saying that he didn't make the right decision, but I would have liked it so much more if he had had to make the right decision, but also lived so that he could fix his relationships, particularly with Max.
We see this time and time again in literature and television/movies. Think about it. Luke and Ethan from Percy Jackson. Darth Vader. Loki. Kylo Ren. CAN YOU SAY SNAPE!! The list goes on.
Because redemption arcs are not about erasing the past. They are about asking for forgiveness, making amends, and realising the wrong you have done. A character's past mistakes will always be there. But in my opinion, death is the easy way out in these situations.
TL;DR: Steve is awesome because he didn't just up and die when he realised he was a shitty person. He worked at asking for forgiveness and changing his behaviour, unlike some people (*cough cough* Snape). Also, writers, PLEASE STOP WRITING REDEMPTION ARCS LIKE THIS!
