morning person

pairing: rhea ripley x reader

prompt: "hey you've got a hand, i've got a hand. it's pretty cold out here, maybe we should hold hands." + "you have to pay the kiss toll."

Rhea in the mornings was nothing short of a difficulty. She didn't want to wake up. She didn't want to get out of bed. And she made damn sure that you knew every little thing she did was a hinderance to her state of being. It was ridiculous and dramatic, and maybe, just maybe, one of the reasons that you had fallen for her. Rhea was usually very serious but watching her act like a whiny brat reminded you that she wasn't nearly as intimidating as she came off.

"Why the hell am I awake right now?" Rhea asked as you dragged her outside. It was earlier than usual and the two of you were in a semi-unfamiliar city. You had grown up in the area, so you sort of knew the place, but Rhea had only ever been here for shows. That meant she spent maybe a day or two here and then just left. She'd been confined to hotel rooms and maybe a restaurant or two in her free time. "Do you know what time I got back in?"

"Serves you right for going out with Priest and Riddle last night instead of coming straight back to the hotel room with me," you told her. Rhea whined as she shielded her eyes from the sunlight. "Come on, there's a coffee place right up the street. I'll let you buy me a cup."

"Buy you a cup? You're the one dragging me out at the crack of dawn," Rhea complained. She was prepared to go on, but one glare from you stopped her.

"You come home at 2:30 after drinking and smelling like someone else's cheap body spray, you have to deal with whatever I put you through the next day," you told her. Rhea didn't argue with you. She regretted staying out last night, but she hadn't wanted to abandon her friends after the show. "Now, hurry up because it's cold."

"I don't wanna go fast, I want to go to bed," Rhea mumbled. You rolled your eyes and bit back a smile. A gust of wind blew past the two of you and Rhea shivered. She walked behind you for a few more feet before stepping in front of you. You ordered the coffees at the shop and Rhea paid for them. The two of you drank them in the shop before going back out to walk back to the hotel.

"Damn," you swore as another bit of wind picked up. You hated how windy it got in the mornings, especially after a bit of rain the night before.

"Hey, you've got a hand, and I've got a hand. It's pretty cold out here, so maybe we should hold hands," Rhea suggested. You didn't question her motives at all as you took her hand in yours. She practically pulled you along to the hotel, your slightly shorter legs having a bit of trouble keeping up. The two of you went back to your hotel, Rhea insisting on getting a bit more sleep while you packed up your bags.

"So, I take it you aren't doing the gym today?" you teased. Rhea grumbled and you set the bags down by the door. "Come on, let's get going. I want to get back to Florida as soon as possible."

"Don't rush me, I'm hungover." Rhea was being whiny, which you knew wouldn't make for a fun trip. It would have been easier to prolong your stay for another day, but you were way too eager to get back home. A thoughtless action occurred next as you pulled Rhea to the edge of the hotel bed and hoisted her up onto your shoulders. "Put me down. Put me down, now."

"Are you going to put the bags in the car?" you asked Rhea. She tried wiggling out of your grasp, but it was too tight. Once it became clear that you weren't giving up, she sighed and gave up. You set her back on her feet, but did not completely let her go.

"I can't get the bags if you're in my way," Rhea said with a forced smile.

"You have to pay the kiss toll to get past me," you told her. Rhea rolled her eyes as she sighed dramatically. "Last night all you wanted to do was kiss me."

"And now I just want to sleep," Rhea whined.

"Wonder how that feels. Pay up." You crossed your arms over your chest and planted your feet. Rhea gave you a couple of quick kisses before getting into the third one. You hummed in satisfaction afterwards and let her pass you. You even helped her carry the bags to the car and drove the first 3/4 of your trip so Rhea could sleep.

Request: I would kill for an enemies to lovers moment if you ever have time :) love your fics!

Alright!! this one sentence request turned into the longest fic yet, I have no idea what I actually wrote anymore, my brain is fried, this might not even count as enemies to lovers, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. It might read a bit different because of the length and contents, I kinda had to adjust, but it shouldn’t be that big of a deal

PART TWO

Winning - Rhea Ripley x Fem!Reader (part one)

2278 words

(I apologize to everyone named Hannah that might read this lol)

Warnings: Lots of swearing this time, injury (nothing major)

🏆🏆🏆

You hated conference rooms.

Since signing to WWE you got to know them quite well, you were even sitting in one right now, it's where you get told what matches you'll get, who you'll be up against and essentially who you are forced to spend more time with.

A while ago you were given exactly those news in this very room - those news turned into some of the simultaneously worst and best weeks of your career.

You see, when officials called both you and Rhea Ripley to come in that time you were immediately ready to flip tables. She was your least favourite colleague, least favourite opponent, least favourite person in your life, really. Ever since you two met at WWE Rhea went out of her way to annoy the shit out of you. Her self absorbed nature made your blood boil, she showed no interest in being a decent human being towards you, ever, leading to mutual hatred.

That fateful day, that you sat in that conference room, Rhea right next to you, the two of you were told that you'd be enemies in the ring, for storytelling.

The idea of having to put up with her more than normal wasn't anything close to enjoyable, but you knew I'd be fun to win in your matches. Even before the planned feud you had a few matches, every time that you won against Rhea she'd throw temper tantrums, not talking to anyone for multiple days until her ego was restored. You always thought it's so funny, seeing her all riled up because you simply managed to pin her, especially that time you took the championship from her - by far your proudest win of your career.

After being enemies officially for a few weeks, you loathed having to put up with her, but you loved fighting her, as well.

Sitting there again, also with Rhea by your side, you were hoping you'd get similarly great news, maybe another main event match where you win against her, but no, why would god grant you that mercy?

Instead, today, you were given horrendous news.

Both you and Rhea yelled out the most distraught "WHAT?!" when you were finally told the story telling would take a different route, a route of friendship: you are supposed to be a tag team.

"Look, guys, we think it's a great storyline, nobody is expecting it! Plus, we really need another tag team. You two would be great together, we just now it!"

The way you both sat there, obviously mentally ready to fight the suit wearing fucker in front of you, it really was the first time you were on the same side, but only because you didn't want to be forced into cooperation.

"I'm not doing that, not in a million years,"Rhea spoke, her arms crossed over her chest as she leans back. The way her jaw tensed showed how much she meant that, but you felt the same. You just wanted to yell, not willing to be put through hell like this.

"You will have to, Rhea, it can't be that bad. What's the big difference between fighting against and alongside each other?"

You rolled your eyes, "it's a big difference, huge."

Obviously it was no use, neither if you could convince them otherwise, you also didn't want to lose your job, so you'd have to put up with it.

"I'm not wearing matching outfits with you, just so we're clear,"Rhea said, leaving the room with you.

She didn't bother looking at you, she never held much eyecontact with you, though you knew she was very well capable of it. Her eyes were glued to something next to you, brooding.

"No shit, I'm not doing anything besides the bare minimum for this."

Rhea huffs, her fists clenching,"this is fucking humiliating."

"For you or for me?"

Finally, she looks at you, her expression still as tense and before. She doesn't say anything.

"And what do we do now, miss Ripley? I thought you were always ready for everything?"

It wasn't unusual for the two of you to taunt each other, but this time both of you were frustrated beyond comprehension. You could tell this would get personal and ugly faster than you'd like.Who had this awful idea, anyway?

Rhea starts walking away, backwards, only turning away from you after pointing her middle finger and telling you to "suck it, asshole."

----

It didn't take long for you to end up training with Rhea. You had a match against Naomi and Sasha soon and you had to practice, unfortunately.

"Took you long enough," Rhea already stood in the ring, leaning on the top rope, glaring at you as you walk closer.

You could see Sasha and Naomi behind her, laughing between the two of them. The others found out about your new tag team, which quickly became a joke backstage. Everyone knows of your dislike for each other, so when the news of the tag team broke, nobody thought it was actually a serious plan.

"I'm not even late, I'm not wasting any of your precious time, honey."

Climbing into the ring, you greet your opponents with a smile, still feeling Rheas eyes on you as you stand a few feet in front of her.

"I thought you loved hanging out with me?"

Rhea loved her sarcasm when talking to you, but you were used to it. To get ready, you take off your jacket, putting it in the corner of the ring,"I only love beating the shit out if you."

During the training you could really see how well Naomi and Sasha work together, they knew what they were doing, they trusted each other, but you and Rhea? No way. It seemed like all it took for them to have a whole strategy ready was a simple nod. If you nodded at Rhea like that, she'd start a fight with you, instead.

Every time one of you tried any move the other either awkwardly stood around or, not knowing what the plan is, ruined it through a move of their own. This was never going to work, but it would have to, if you wanted to keep your career intact.

Towards the end you stood by the side, watching Rhea pin Naomi. Funnily enough, the worst hits you got today were from her, not the people you're supposed to be fighting against. Your jaw hurt, you held your hand up to it, looking at Rhea get off of Naomi.

"God, Rhea, what's your problem?"you ask, your breath heavy and your voice agitated,"you have to stop breaking up my pin, we're a fucking team!"

She gets up, gathering her stuff so she can leave. Just as she likes to do, she gets really close to your face, smirking, the signal to prepare yourself for some stupid comment, "a team? God, you're so obsessed with me, sweetheart."

Besides a chuckle from Rhea neither of you said anything else, Rhea going home and you staying to talk with the others a bit more.

----------

Finally, the first match together as a tag team had come.

You sat backstage, talking to your girlfriend, Hannah, who was excited to be there to support you, knowing how tough this situation was going to be At home, she would often have to listen to many rants and complains about Rhea and her antics. Your relationship did have to suffer due to it, your girlfriend arguing that your hatred for another woman was more on your mind that the love for your significant other. Right now, that wasn't important, though, as you were just happy to have her there.

You stood before her, her sitting on a table in front of you, fixing the sleeve of your gear. Trying not to think too much about the person you'd have to deal with, you smiled at Hannah, hyping yourself up like you usually do before your matches.

"You got this, babe, you're gonna do amazing!"

Thanking her with a kiss on the cheek, you hear someone walk up to you. Surely enough, Rhea's arm is placed on your shoulder, a shit eating grin on her face. She looks back and forth between you and your girlfriend, "Darling, are you cheating on me? Already? I must say I am hurt."

"Oh shut up, Rhea, I don't wanna deal with you until we have to go outside."

"One day you'll have to admit how much you love me, see you out there,”she whispers, still smirking, winking at Hannah as she takes her arm off of you.

The audience didn't know who the second team would be until you walked out, so when you came into view, your entrance songs playing, you could hear and see everyone go insane.

You couldn't lie, Rheas entrance was great, it wouldn't be hard get used to that song. Not paying much attention to each other, you walk towards the ring, keeping a confident demeanor.

In the ring, Rhea put her elbow on your shoulder, leaning on you as you face Naomi and Sasha. Her acting so friendly towards you all of a sudden weirdly felt like a punch in the gut, it wasn't horrible, but unusual. She was good at acting, considering how you wouldn't even dream of being this way towards her.

Deciding to match her energy, you wrap a hand around her waist. For a second you thought she tensed up, almost flinching as you do so. You shoot her a smirk and look at you opponents. Maybe it wouldn't be impossible to at least cooperate in the ring after all?

Well, as expected, the match didn't exactly run smoothly- you stood in the ring, facing your opponents, Rhea outside of it, recovering from a strong attack that pushed her out. Naomi ran up to you, you manage to duck, but soon enough you found yourself held in place by her from behind. Now being pushed to the floor, hands behind your back, Sasha had free range, delivering a perfect dropkick to your face. Falling to the floor, tasting blood, you hear cheering as you pass out.

Only when you reach consciousness again you realise you've been moved, seeing Rhea walk away after making sure you'd be out of the way. You could tell your nose  as bleeding, your head was pounding, as well. Somehow Rhea finishes the match, you can hear the referee counting behind you as Rhea pins one of them. Instead of being pulled in for celebration, though, Rhea immediately leaves the ring, walking towards you.

“Hey, hey, we won, come on-”her hand grabs your arm, putting it over your shoulder. It was a smart idea, considering how weak you were, your head spinning and feeling like someone stuffed it with cotton.

Stabilizing you, Rhea and you walk backstage again, being greeted by medics as soon as you get there. You were being asked questions left and right, still confused how it even came this far. During the examination you could feel Rheas hand on your shoulder, squeezing it as you flinched from getting your nose poked around by medics.

It was decided you'd be fine if you go to the doctor for a check-up by yourself the next day, but you were advised to take it slow and rest. Until you felt better and capable of going home you stayed in your dressing room. Laying on the couch, your eyes closed, you tried to relax enough to get your headache to be bearable.

There was a knock on the door, but whoever it was didn't walk in when you told them to, instead you could hear a discussion breaking out outside the room.

“What are you doing here, Rhea?” It was Hannah, and, apparently Rhea.

“Could ask you the same thing, mate”

“How so? I'm trying to get into my girlfriends dressing room.”

“Only now, I assume?”

“What's your problem?”

As much as you wanted to break them up before it got worse, Rheas words intrigued you. Back when the problems between you two started people kept telling you how Rhea actually doesn't hate you, she just keeps it a secret. You still didn't believe that, she proofed to you often enough that she doesn't care about you, at least not in a positive way.

“I don't have a problem, all I am trying to say is, that that could have been a serious injury. Where were you the whole time?”

“I- I was- I don't have to explain myself to you!”

Both of them were right. Hannah couldn't have been busy, but she also doesn't have to give her reasons to Rhea, she's the last person she'd have to explain anything to.

“No, but I did see you talk to all kinds of random people, not looking particularly interested in finding your hurt girlfriend.”

You stood against the door at this point, your ear touching the wood.

“That is literally none of your business. Stop acting like you care more about Y/N than me.”

The conversation ends, leaving you barely any time to move out of the way, the door opens, your girlfriend hugging you as soon as she sees you. Looking over Hannahs shoulder, you see Rhea put up her hands in defense, walking away.

“Babe, I was worried, how do you feel?”

Eventually your gaze leaves the now empty hallway, instead finding Hannahs eyes. “I'm fine, I kinda just wanna go home.”

“Yes, definitely, I'll drive.”

reader proposes to rhea at WRESTLEMANIA after party, this is after she wins the championship against asuka

I'd Get on One Knee for Her

Rhea Ripley x Reader

A/N - idk what the after party looked like so I made it up 😌 (Rhea is friends with Liv in this)

Reader Proposes To Rhea At WRESTLEMANIA After Party, This Is After She Wins The Championship Against

You were immensely proud of her. Her career had only begun to sprout and with her most recent win, she was bound to because one of the most popular figures in WWE.

You weren’t sure of a few things. You weren’t sure how the rest of her career would completely turn out, or how she’d go about developing her work, but looking at her smiling with some of the people at the party, you were sure of one thing.

You wanted to spend the rest of your life with this woman.

Her smile made one appear on your face too. Even a dozen feet away, she radiated so much comfort and happiness that you couldn’t even begin to explain how much you loved her. You hated staring, but with her smile, how could you not?

Leaning your elbows on the bar, drink in hand, spinning the ice and hearing it clink on the glass with your expression showing nothing but awe, someone was going to notice.

“Just ask her.”

You jumped at the sound of her voice, the constant and repetitive three word phrase running around your brain whenever Liv was around. She was constantly reminding you of the ring that sat in your pocket, waiting for the perfect occasion to give it to the love of your life.

You had wanted to ask Rhea for ages, but you never found the perfect time or space to do so. Then again your thought had made you hesitate; What if she didn't want to marry you?

"That woman is so in love with you. Don't you dare tell me she'll say no." Liv interrupted before you could speak. "She's standing there talking to them about how much she loves you."

Your head snapped to Liv, who was now leaning against the same surface you had been the past half an hour. Brows raised in question, you stared at her and watched as a smirk overtook her lips.

"It's not that easy." You looked back into the crowd, taking a sip of the drink in your hand. You found your mind wondering how she would react, whether she'd be happy or react in surprise would completely be up to her.

Liv's hand landed on your shoulder, squeezing lightly before she spoke up again.

"You can do it."

With that, she walked away to join some other group that was drinking and talking about the latest wrestle match. Just as you were going to look back at where Rhea stood, you locked eyes with her, a definitive smirk on her face. The conversation she was a part of was long forgotten as she stared at you, watching as you stared back.

She looked away only to say goodbye to the ones she was talking to before she started walking in your direction.

"Fuck my life." You whispered to yourself as you sipped the last of your drink, attempting to hide the smile that had erupted on your face. By the time you placed your glass back down, she was already at the bar you were standing by.

With a smile, she took your hand and without a word, dragged you into the dancefloor where multiple others were dancing. Rhea's hands wrapped around your shoulders while yours found her waist as the two of you just stared into each others eyes without saying anything.

"Thank you, for being there for me today." She said, completely disregarding the others that were now staring at the two of you, especially Liv.

When Rhea walked backstage, a winning victory being praised all around her, you jumped up into her arms and hung on her like a koala. Regardless of how many times you tried to let go of her to give her space after congratulating her, she kept a hold of you. She quite literally didn’t let go of you until you both had to drive to the party, she even held you close after you arrived.

You smiled and stood on your toes, pecking her lips a few times before she leaned down so you could stand normally. She tried deepening the kiss, but you pulled away before she could.

This was it. Now or never.

“I need to ask you something.”

By now your smile was basically out of control, so Liv all the way on the other side of the room could tell what you were planning. You prayed the others around you would mind their business, but at the same time you wanted the whole to know what you were about to do.

Rhea looked at you with raised eyebrows, biting the inside of her cheek to mask the confused smile. Taking a deep breath, you composed yourself still holding onto her waist.

“I love you so much, and I’m so proud of you for everything you’ve done, you know?” You started, not preparing a speech before hand. Everything you wanted to say, you wanted it to come from your heart.

She nodded, still looking down at you with a confused expression. She tried to focus solemnly on your eyes, but your smile was far too distracting for her not to look at your lips. She was still a little hesitant as to were this was all coming from, but she was a patient person. She could wait until you to finish.

"For the past two years you'd given me everything I could have ever asked for, and I'm so glad to have you in my life." You took a deep breath again, slowly loosening your grip on her waist. "I've wanted to do this for ages, but I could never gather the courage so..."

You reached into your pocket and pulled out a little box before stepping backwards and doing something you didn't think you'd ever do. For what seemed like the hundredth time, you deeply inhaled before you looked back up at her, one knee on the ground while you free hand opened the little box.

Her eyes widened, her hands not really knowing where to go as she watch you get on one knee before her, opening the box to reveal one of the prettiest wedding bands she'd ever seen.

"Will you marry me?"

By now, everyone had caught onto what was happening and was watching intently. Liv was the only one moving to give you a thumbs up behind Rhea's back, supporting your decision as she watched the whole room freeze.

Rhea chuckled in disbelief before nodding her head, only managing to whisper a barely audible 'yes' for only you to hear.

Your lungs finally opened freely as the crowd started cheering. You barely stood on your own two feet before Rhea lifted you up, arms circling your waist while your legs held onto her by her waist.

You hugged her back tighter, a massive smile on your faces as the crowd around you clapped at the encounter. Her grip on you didn't falter, in fact it only got stronger as she held onto you by your waist.

"I can't believe you just did that." She whispered in the midst of chaos, pulling away only enough to be able to kiss you. The crowd only got louder when you kissed, a smile impossible to keep of your face.

You pulled the hottest woman on earth two years ago, now you could proudly call her your fiancé.

You pulled away to look down at her, noticing the tears gathering on the bottom of her eyelids.

"No, you'll make me cry." You laughed gently, bringing your hands up to cup her face with the box still in your hand. Delicately wiping the tears that managed to escape her eyes, you smiled down and tried to stop your own tears from showing.

She laughed as you sniffed, watching as you took the box and placed it in front of her in your hands. She let you stand again, gently dropping you down so you could take the ring out and place it on her finger.

Liv ran towards you once the ring was on, hugging you both as the others cheered again, staring to gather around you to congratulate you both.

Lets just say, calling both your family's after the party was over was another wave of emotions we don't mention.

THE END

Rhea’s soul dying (of laughter)
