Life was a lot harder without your best friend in it. Sure, you had other friends, but there was so much that you wanted to share with Rhea that you couldn't. Rhea had hurt you, and in retaliation you had hurt her as well. The longer you stayed in your relationship, the clearer that revelation became. It was why things with Liv hadn't lasted very long in the long run.

"I'm sorry, but I don't want us to end up enemies. I meant it when I said I like you Y/n."

Liv's words echoed in the back of your head. They had for the past week and a half. Holing yourself up in your apartment didn't make for a very healthy healing process. You couldn't talk to Rhea, so there was nobody that you wanted to talk to. It was silly and childish, especially since other friends had left concerned messages for you. Word travelled quickly, but not as quickly as you would have hoped.

It took Rhea two whole weeks after your breakup to come see you. She had been avoiding you at work, which was difficult to do when she faced you at live events. A tense ring was not a good one to work in, and you were honestly surprised that neither of you had managed to accidentally hurt the other. Rhea had hurt you though, just not in the physical sense.

"Hey Y/n," Rhea said softly as she approached you. You looked up from the weight machine you were using briefly to acknowledge her. "Can I say a few things?"

"Nothing that's gonna cause a scene," you told her. Rhea nodded and kneeled down next to you.

"I'm sorry about how I've been acting. It wasn't easy to see you guys together, and I can't help but feel like maybe I'm at fault for your breakup a little. You shouldn't have been upset about your relationship, you should have been celebrating it with your friends. I'm sorry I wasn't a good friend."

"I'm sorry that I picked the one person I knew would hurt you the most. That wasn't exactly being a good friend either," you apologized. Rhea rubbed the back of her head as she shifted to maintain her balance. "Your knee again?"

"Yeah, and it was leg day today. I don't know when you came in, but I can give you a ride when you want to go," Rhea offered. You had come in with someone else, but you doubted that they'd mind leaving on their own.

"I'd like that. Let me get in a couple more sets and a shower, then I'll be ready." Rhea smiled at your acceptance to her offer. She wandered around the gym while she waited for you to get finished. When you got to the front doors, you found her saw pulled around front and blaring music from the speakers. Rhea turned the music down when she saw you and scrambled out of the car to get the door for you. "What a gentleman."

"You did arms, I'm sure they're sore. I've seen how much you've been lifting lately," Rhea complimented. Strength had never been something that came easily for you. You were one of the quicker and more agile girls. With the introduction of more girls like Rhea, who had both strength and agility, you had to start stepping up your game. Eventually, your moves would get a bit boring.

"I have to do something to keep up. Somebody likes throwing me around like a ragdoll," you teased. Rhea ducked her head down, but you could see the tips of her ears turning red. You chuckled and plucked her snapback from the top of her head as you got into the car.

The two of you were pretty quiet in the car for the duration of the ride. Rhea tapped her fingers along to the songs that played from her playlist. It was a bit heavier than what you usually listened to, but you didn't mind it. Especially not with the headbanging at redlights, which you deemed absolutely adorable. You realized that you weren't going to "get over" Rhea anytime soon, but you'd happily accept her friendship over not having her in your life at all.

"This is my stop," you said as Rhea pulled into your driveway. She took your bag up to your door for you, walking behind you. "Thanks for the ride."

"No problem, thanks for hearing me out." Rhea shifted awkwardly on her feet. You shot her a reassuring smile as you took your gym bag from her. When you backed away to go inside, Rhea grabbed your wrist and pulled you back towards her. There was a moment when you could feel the hesitation. Then, it all melted away as Rhea closed the distance between the two of you. The kiss was relatively quick, but not rushed. Chaste, but still fulfilling its purpose. "I'll see you tomorrow. We can do abs together. I've hated doing them on my own."

"Um, bye," you mumbled to yourself. Rhea was halfway to her car already. She waved at you from behind the steering wheel, which was when you realized that she had meant to kiss you. It was only after you waved back at her that Rhea even started her car. You turned to go inside, hiding the ridiculous grin on your face. Rhea liked you, and it was entirely possible for you to be together.

Rhea's hands shook as they hovered over the doorknob. For the fifteenth time that day, you watched as she backed away from the door. You couldn't help the little chuckle that escaped you as Rhea slumped into the chair next to you. Eventually, that door would open and Rhea would have to walk through it. Until then, you knew that she'd stall for as long as she could.

"Scared?" you asked her kindly. Rhea's facial expression went from a neutral one straight to offence. You rolled your eyes discreetly. "It's okay to be a little afraid to do things like this Rhea. Talking isn't easy."

"I'll have you know that I am a straight g."

"You straight?" It took every ounce of your self-restraint not to burst out laughing. Rhea nudged you as she scoffed, as if you were the one being childish about this ordeal. It wasn't even supposed to be an ordeal, just a doctor's appointment, but here Rhea was, terrified and refusing to admit it. "It's just the doctor."

"Yeah, I know that. I go to the doctor all the time, it's part of my job. This is fine, we're professionals. We work for a living. I've faced bigger fish than this before. This is nothing, right?"

"Do you want me to go in with you and hold your hand?" you offered. Rhea contemplated it for a moment before nodding.

"Yes please."

"Alrighty then. Come on, let's see why your knee's been acting up," you said as you stood up. Rhea walked in behind you, which was honestly the only way to get her through the door. Maybe it'd be nothing or maybe she'd be taking a little leave, but either way you'd be there to handle the news with her.

A/N - idk what the after party looked like so I made it up 😌 (Rhea is friends with Liv in this)

You were immensely proud of her. Her career had only begun to sprout and with her most recent win, she was bound to because one of the most popular figures in WWE.

You weren’t sure of a few things. You weren’t sure how the rest of her career would completely turn out, or how she’d go about developing her work, but looking at her smiling with some of the people at the party, you were sure of one thing.

You wanted to spend the rest of your life with this woman.

Her smile made one appear on your face too. Even a dozen feet away, she radiated so much comfort and happiness that you couldn’t even begin to explain how much you loved her. You hated staring, but with her smile, how could you not?

Leaning your elbows on the bar, drink in hand, spinning the ice and hearing it clink on the glass with your expression showing nothing but awe, someone was going to notice.

“Just ask her.”

You jumped at the sound of her voice, the constant and repetitive three word phrase running around your brain whenever Liv was around. She was constantly reminding you of the ring that sat in your pocket, waiting for the perfect occasion to give it to the love of your life.

You had wanted to ask Rhea for ages, but you never found the perfect time or space to do so. Then again your thought had made you hesitate; What if she didn't want to marry you?

"That woman is so in love with you. Don't you dare tell me she'll say no." Liv interrupted before you could speak. "She's standing there talking to them about how much she loves you."

Your head snapped to Liv, who was now leaning against the same surface you had been the past half an hour. Brows raised in question, you stared at her and watched as a smirk overtook her lips.

"It's not that easy." You looked back into the crowd, taking a sip of the drink in your hand. You found your mind wondering how she would react, whether she'd be happy or react in surprise would completely be up to her.

Liv's hand landed on your shoulder, squeezing lightly before she spoke up again.

"You can do it."

With that, she walked away to join some other group that was drinking and talking about the latest wrestle match. Just as you were going to look back at where Rhea stood, you locked eyes with her, a definitive smirk on her face. The conversation she was a part of was long forgotten as she stared at you, watching as you stared back.

She looked away only to say goodbye to the ones she was talking to before she started walking in your direction.

"Fuck my life." You whispered to yourself as you sipped the last of your drink, attempting to hide the smile that had erupted on your face. By the time you placed your glass back down, she was already at the bar you were standing by.

With a smile, she took your hand and without a word, dragged you into the dancefloor where multiple others were dancing. Rhea's hands wrapped around your shoulders while yours found her waist as the two of you just stared into each others eyes without saying anything.

"Thank you, for being there for me today." She said, completely disregarding the others that were now staring at the two of you, especially Liv.

When Rhea walked backstage, a winning victory being praised all around her, you jumped up into her arms and hung on her like a koala. Regardless of how many times you tried to let go of her to give her space after congratulating her, she kept a hold of you. She quite literally didn’t let go of you until you both had to drive to the party, she even held you close after you arrived.

You smiled and stood on your toes, pecking her lips a few times before she leaned down so you could stand normally. She tried deepening the kiss, but you pulled away before she could.

This was it. Now or never.

“I need to ask you something.”

By now your smile was basically out of control, so Liv all the way on the other side of the room could tell what you were planning. You prayed the others around you would mind their business, but at the same time you wanted the whole to know what you were about to do.

Rhea looked at you with raised eyebrows, biting the inside of her cheek to mask the confused smile. Taking a deep breath, you composed yourself still holding onto her waist.

“I love you so much, and I’m so proud of you for everything you’ve done, you know?” You started, not preparing a speech before hand. Everything you wanted to say, you wanted it to come from your heart.

She nodded, still looking down at you with a confused expression. She tried to focus solemnly on your eyes, but your smile was far too distracting for her not to look at your lips. She was still a little hesitant as to were this was all coming from, but she was a patient person. She could wait until you to finish.

"For the past two years you'd given me everything I could have ever asked for, and I'm so glad to have you in my life." You took a deep breath again, slowly loosening your grip on her waist. "I've wanted to do this for ages, but I could never gather the courage so..."

You reached into your pocket and pulled out a little box before stepping backwards and doing something you didn't think you'd ever do. For what seemed like the hundredth time, you deeply inhaled before you looked back up at her, one knee on the ground while you free hand opened the little box.

Her eyes widened, her hands not really knowing where to go as she watch you get on one knee before her, opening the box to reveal one of the prettiest wedding bands she'd ever seen.

"Will you marry me?"

By now, everyone had caught onto what was happening and was watching intently. Liv was the only one moving to give you a thumbs up behind Rhea's back, supporting your decision as she watched the whole room freeze.

Rhea chuckled in disbelief before nodding her head, only managing to whisper a barely audible 'yes' for only you to hear.

Your lungs finally opened freely as the crowd started cheering. You barely stood on your own two feet before Rhea lifted you up, arms circling your waist while your legs held onto her by her waist.

You hugged her back tighter, a massive smile on your faces as the crowd around you clapped at the encounter. Her grip on you didn't falter, in fact it only got stronger as she held onto you by your waist.

"I can't believe you just did that." She whispered in the midst of chaos, pulling away only enough to be able to kiss you. The crowd only got louder when you kissed, a smile impossible to keep of your face.

You pulled the hottest woman on earth two years ago, now you could proudly call her your fiancé.

You pulled away to look down at her, noticing the tears gathering on the bottom of her eyelids.

"No, you'll make me cry." You laughed gently, bringing your hands up to cup her face with the box still in your hand. Delicately wiping the tears that managed to escape her eyes, you smiled down and tried to stop your own tears from showing.

She laughed as you sniffed, watching as you took the box and placed it in front of her in your hands. She let you stand again, gently dropping you down so you could take the ring out and place it on her finger.

Liv ran towards you once the ring was on, hugging you both as the others cheered again, staring to gather around you to congratulate you both.

Lets just say, calling both your family's after the party was over was another wave of emotions we don't mention.
