Vee doesn't carve a palisman of her own, she gains a lot of confidence through living in the human realm and making friends and developing her own identity. Still, since Hunter winds up carving a new palisman for himself and due to them both being technically powerless, he gifts Flapjack to her. Flapjack already adored her and had helped fly her around the Isles during those rare visits to see her witch friends. So it just made sense.

(just start ranting about how I haven't had wifi for over 12 hours and now it's suddenly back, haha...ah.)

I mentioned in one of the very first Hunvee posts that Vee got really self-conscious and nervous about her place in the Noceda home upon Luz returning at the end of King's Tide. Thus, she tries to desperately 'earn her keep' and make herself useful in any way she can. Hunter sees a lot of himself in her as she's overcompensating and helps her to overcome it and realize that she doesn't have to 'prove' anything to anyone. This moment of vulnerability allows Vee to trust and open up to Hunter little by little as he does the same with her.

The relationship definitely has Lunter vibes but I did my best to add a little twist to it. Both Vee and Hunter love living on Earth but while Hunter is still having to deal with his uncle being around and deprogramming from the EC cult and his identity crisis as a grimwalker, Vee, being a basilisk, is trying to find her OWN identity. She has her likes and dislikes of course but doesn't feel like she's really her own person since she's been leeching off of Luz's life.

Hello everyone! As October approaches, I've been hearing a lot about the very popular Whumptober. However, since I'm not much of a whump writer, I decided to go ahead and make my own Flufftober challenge!
