But like the line "his methodology is never painful" describing how Armand kills explains why he let Louis believe things were going their way. That their romance was blooming. Even up till the fucking end. The fucking flower tree and the whole shebang. Because he was giving Louis mercy. Going on a double date not only made it an easier ambush but also giving Louis the mercy of having happiness. Lessening the pain before the final blow.

And then kill him slowly.

But things just kept spiraling out of control for him. Louis knew Lestat. Was made by Lestat. They had been lovers. Now he loves Louis. And Louis wanted him back. And-

When his courtship request is rejected by the god charged with caring for Louis, Armand, Lestat decides to kidnap the god of spring to make him his consort so they can rule the underworld together, Lestat not caring about the consequences of his decision in the human world and Armand's wrath or Louis' wishes.

just fyi - i like all of the 3 main louis ships, but here is my current ranking of each:

danlou - true love, wholesome, heartwarming, they gave it all for each other, i love them so bad

loumand - hot, insane, sexy, fucked up, did i mention how hot they are, what if a housecat married a boa constrictor, canonically kinky

loustat - messy, opposites attract, was my otp (i only like lestat to the extent he's obsessed with louis), now i'm kinda bored, lifetime movie network couple, can't wait for them to fight again

lesmand and devil's minion do nothing for me - i don't care what these men do when louis isn't around
