he likes to keep a picture of you in his wallet, it’s probably old and worn out but he treats it like a good luck charm.

before every game he’ll just give himself a pep talk and smile down at your photo for a moment, reminding himself that someone was watching him so absolutely he had to do his best.

but it was also a gentle reminder that no matter what the results of the game were, he’d always have someone to come home to.

MIYA ATSUMU

this man has a picture of you as his wallpaper, part of it because he just takes every opportunity to brag about you and make his teammates jealous.

and it also just brightens up his mood, he could be a nervous wreck right before a big game.

but seeing your smiling face along with that notification that reads ‘good luck, tsumu. i know you’ll do amazing, i love you.’ he feels like there isn’t anything he can’t do.

KUROO TETSUROU

his entire gallery is filled with you, what’s the catch, you ask? they’re all terrible photos.

literally has the worst camera quality and are so blurry not to mention you look like a mess in every single one.

but he always tells you about how they’re his favourites, and no matter how many times you beg him to delete them that’s never happening.

TADASHI YAMAGUCHI

he has a whole corner of his room dedicated to pictures of you.

yamaguchi likes to hang up little printed out photos of the both of you and make them look nice and pretty.

he’ll even go the extra mile and add some fairy lights or little doodles to make them more unique and special for him.

NISHINOYA YUU

nishinoya keeps a photo of you on the back on his phone, through a clear case like a basic bitch.

he likes it because he’ll purposely put his phone face down just so people will ask about you which gets them stuck in a 4-hour ramble about his amazing girlfriend.

also, he definitely kisses that photo and he does not care how many people tell him it’s dirty, he’s still going to do it.

BOKUTO KOTARO

your pictures are plastered all over this mans social media; instagram, twitter, snapchat, everything.

there is literally not one fan of his that doesn’t know who you are because he will take every chance he gets to show you off.

bokuto just feels so proud to have someone like you in his life which is why he’s not ashamed to let everyone see how much he loves you.

IWAIZUMI HAJIME

he doesn’t want to admit it because he’s ‘not a simp’ but on his phone, there’s an entire album dedicated to just pictures of you.

they’re a mix of different things, mostly ones he took of you when he thought you weren’t looking to pictures of you guys on all the dates you’ve been on.

sometimes he just likes to look through them and reminisce, especially when he’s on a trip and missing you.

SAKUSA KIYOOMI

sakusa isn’t the type to take photos of you, but what usually happens is he gets his phone stolen by you and atsumu.

and you both fill and spam his gallery with terrible photos of the two of you, every time sakusa gets his phone back he’ll give you an annoyed sigh knowing exactly what you did

yet he can’t find himself getting mad when you look so cute in them, he also only deletes the ones with atsumu’s face on them and keeps yours.

SUNA RINTARO

most of your photos are on his snapchat memories but what suna really likes taking are videos of the two of you.

it literally eats up all of his phone’s storage but he just can’t delete any of them because he’s horribly attached to them

❊ BOKUTO feels as if anyone within a 10-meter radius can hear his heartbeat and that thought alone makes him all the more nervous. he checks his phone to make sure he was at the right address before he rings the doorbell to your family's home, hands shaking and all. it's the first time he's going to meet your family after all, and during your mother's birthday nonetheless.

he literally holds his breath as the door swings open, "oh my! you must be koutarou!" your mother greets him with the biggest smile and he greets her back politely.

"ah, these are for you. h-happy birthday!" he stammers, handing her all three different desserts he bought just this morning. a red velvet cake, strawberry cupcakes, and a tiramisu. he didn't know which one to get, so he just bought all of them.

your mother (who is now basically fawning over your boyfriend) invites him to the living room where everyone, including you, was mingling. you see him, still holding the three boxes of deserts, beaming and smiling as he exchanges greetings with the rest of your family. he's still really nervous but seeing you there looking at him so sweetly and knowing how important this is to you, he shakes all his nerves away and does his best.

lunch turns to dinner and nervousness turns into giddy giggles as he finds himself surrounded by your little nephews and nieces. they cling themselves onto his leg as he walks around exchanging conversations with your family. the very sight of it makes both you and your family fall in love with him more.

❊ USHIJIMA instantly earns your mother's approval—with a pretty bouquet of sunflowers and the way he held your things for you as you took off your shoes. your family was initially skeptical of him, they've only seen him on television and in interviews, and most times he looked so serious and stoic. they just didn't think the two of you would mix together well. however, as he puts on a pink apron and starts chopping garlic and onions in your kitchen, they can't help but think otherwise.

"you don't have to help here, ushijima. we can handle this." your father says as he starts cooking beside your boyfriend, who is still busy with chopping ingredients.

ushijima only looks up and gives him a polite smile, "it's the least i could do, sir." and it was true, after knowing that your family liked cooking together, he felt as if it was the least he could do after being invited to your home.

the rest of your family looks on as this tall man towers over the countertops, slicing the tiniest carrots and chives. "you're really good at this!" your mother suddenly speaks, observing his skillful cut of julienne carrots.

"he cooks a lot for me, you know." you gush, moving from your place on the counter to stand beside him.

"yes, and i will continue to cook for y/n even when we're married," the room suddenly goes quiet as he speaks as if it was a truth everyone already knew. but you and the rest of your family just stare at him in shock. he's always been straightforward, but this felt more like a profession of affection than a statement.

you start to feel your cheeks turn red not from embarrassment but from the way this man is making you feel. he only looks up at you and your family, wondering why everyone suddenly stopped talking.

❊ KAGEYAMA clears his throat and smoothens his polo for what seems like the hundredth time in just a few minutes. he is beyond nervous, perhaps even more nervous than that first match he had as a professional player, or maybe even that time he first told you he liked you.

"tobio!" you suddenly shake him from his thoughts and he gives you a small smile. with a quick kiss to the cheek, you take his nervous hands and invite him inside. you make your way to the living room where you're both greeted by your (very excited and curious) family. "everyone, this is tobio my-"

"good evening, my name is tobio kageyama, y/n's boyfriend. nice to meet you!" he introduces himself like the new kid at school and even completes it with a 45° bow. your family literally jumps from their seats and returns his formal bow and you're just standing there, keeping yourself from laughing.

he is so obviously nervous and so stiff. every time anyone talks to him, he straightens in his seat before he speaks. and you can't help but find it cute, and apparently, the rest of your family does too.

gradually, he loosens up during dinner after getting a feel of the atmosphere, he does adjust pretty quickly. as everyone starts eating, he takes your favorite dish from the table and serves it to you before getting some for himself. your family basically gushes at this and he notices. well, they weren't really trying to hide it to begin with.

❊ SAKUSA fidgets with his mask, an internal conflict raging through his mind at that very moment. should he just take it off? all too suddenly, the front door swings open and your mother's eager smile greets the both of you.

"you must be kiyoomi!" she beams excitedly and lifts her hand for him to shake but suddenly retracts it, remembering what you told them about his cleanliness and little habits.

but he takes it anyway and quickly brings his mask down to his chin, "it's nice to meet you." he says with a genuine smile, and your mother glances at you with a little "ooh".

dinner goes by smoothly (much to sakusa's relief) and your parents can't help but smile at how obviously in love he is with you. from the way he fondly looked at you when you gave him your serving of umeboshi to the little blush he tried to hide when you gushed about him to them, he's surprisingly like an open book.

"let me help," he offers politely as your parents start cleaning the table. they first look at him in surprise then look to you for answers and you just shrug. "i actually really like washing dishes..." he explains himself as he takes the plates from your father.

your parents are too stunned to protest. they quietly watch as the man they've only seen in the pictures you've sent and occasionally on television wash their dishes, on their sink, in their own home. he isn't what they thought he'd be.

you keep yourself from smiling too wide as you move beside him, taking the plates he just washed and wiping them dry.
