The fruity four definitely watched Rocky Horror Picture Show together and Steve was an absolute bisexual mess because of Frank n Furter. It’s cannon cause I said so.

As much as I love Robin or Dustin being the first person to find out about Steve’s bisexuality and crush on Eddie, I uh… personally kind of want it to be Max. It’s Steve picking her up to meet up with the party at the arcade, but he’s been over at Eddie’s trailer all day. She’s seen this, so she makes a joke about thinking he’d never pull himself away from his boyfriend so they could go, and Steve, who has been in some heavy confusion as of late, makes an instant remark about how he likes girls clearly, “I date girls! I dated Nance!” Max just shrugs. She tells him she figured he was bisexual or something from the start because he had a kind of “vibe” and sometimes looked at Jonathan a little weirdly. Steve has absolutely no time to process that second half of that sentence because he’s trying to work out the label bisexual. Max doesn’t push. Doesn’t try to question it or him. She’s smart. She’s really, really smart, and she grew up in California, where things were a tad more open-minded. Not to mention that she can read people very well from spending so many years on the alert, searching for warning signs, so she notices the very moment that Steve goes just a touch too still and casually throws out some story about how she used to have a neighbor. This sweet old man who was bi and used to date this woman who looked a lot like Goldie Hawn, but now he’s got an ex-surfer for a boyfriend who lives with him, and they have like 3 dogs together and used to sneak her sweets whenever they had big block parties. The realization kind of settles smoothly over Steve, and Max can see the moment when all the tension drains out of him. They don’t talk about it for the rest of the drive. They don’t bring it up after that, and Max kind of forgets about it until a few weeks later when it’s just her and Steve again, and he very shyly pops up to inform her he’s now dating Eddie, so “Thanks, kid.” She proceeds to sit smugly (and proudly) a few weeks later when they tell the rest of the party, who collectively lose their shit for a variety of reasons, mostly ranging from “But Steve, Eddie? Seriously? STEVE?” to “I can’t believe you guys have the gall to go out and not buy me ice cream as a thank you gift considering I’m the entire reason you two ever became friends in the first place!” It’s pretty nice after that, all in all, except for the fact that Steve is somehow convinced that Max lives on her porch now just so she can catch the sight of him sneaking in and out of the Munson trailer and hold it over his head, and holy shit does she. 

i just think it would be neat if Eddie starts going nuts on the guitar in the Upside Down and Dustin nudges Steve like “didn’t I tell you he was cool?” and Steve, flustrated and blushing, just mumbls “y-yeah, yeah… pretty cool” and then we leave it as a hint, maybe give him some longing eyes by the end of s4 and BANG develop the ship in s5

this tweet has been plaguing me since i first saw it this concept is haunting me so i need you guys to walk with me here. season five episode one starts, and it's a typical first episode of a stranger things season. the gang is attempting to adjust to a new normal, meanwhile a new upside down evil is growing. but the audience realizes something's missing. dustin isn't there. the party starts investigating and they call dustin over the radio to try and loop him in, but they never get an answer. will insists they just need to give him some time, but it gets to the point where they need to get dustin off the bench, since with max in the hospital still they're already one man down. they show up at his house and bang on the door until dustin answers. when he does, he's acting weird. he's not looking at any of them, just down at his feet, and when he does looks up he looks over their shoulders. eventually dustin gives them a flimsy excuse and shoves them out the door. the party go to family video next and pesters steve to go check on dustin. steve complains at first, but he's also genuinely worried about dustin so after minimal begging he caves and leaves work early to go over to the henderson house. dustin opens the door quicker for steve then he did for the kids, and steve is about to chew dustin out for making everyone worry but stops suddenly, his eyes wide and mouth hanging open in shock. standing next to dustin, looking beat up and bloody and a little worse for wear, is eddie. dustin looks from the expression on steve's face to eddie and back to steve and whispers "you can see him too?"
