As a rule of thumb, don't reblog donation posts or people asking for donations unless they've been vetted and reblogged by Palestinian bloggers. We usually go to lengths to verify this shit because we know scammers have been faking to get people to send them money, using the urgency of our genocide as bait.

It's disgusting this is what we're dealing with, but people are losing money because of some truly evil people out there.

Accounts don't just randomly spring up on tumblr without gofundmes while asking for someone to help them create a campaign. Fuck out of here with that shit.

Actually im going to ramble here bc I feel many Cuarteto de Nos songs fit Dirkjake but they're not popular in english countries so they hardly get discovered but whatever.

So there's this song called "Pégame y Decime Shirley", which translates to "Hit me and called Shirley" that tells the story about a relationship and how it started all passionate and slowly became boring, so they eventually turned to masochism to make things more interesting and TELL ME IF IT'S NOT DIRKJAKE.

I see it this way, Jake cannot stay in a relationship; he gets bored easily if things are not interesting, so in fear of losing him, Dirk decides to spice things up with sadism and masochism. There's this part of the song that goes "If it's all for love, hit me. if it's all for love, beat me up. Take off my pants and cover me with bruises" (Todo por amor, pegarme. Todo por amor, cascame. Sácame los pantalones y lléname de moretones) And I feel like that'd be Dirk's desperate way to make Jake not leave him, not stray away. He'll keep him entertained even if it means his own physical integrity.

There's this other part of the song, which I consider to be "Jake's part" or whatever, where it goes like "I remember alway that first kiss that I gave you, but the fire I felt there no longer burns me" (recuerdo siempre ese primer beso que te dí, pero ya no me quema ese fuego que sentí) and another that goes like "I wanted your body more than I wanted your love, but as time passes that concept turned around. I see you as a sibling, or as another friend. That's why it's time to try harder" (a tu cuerpo quería mas que a tu corazón, pero el paso del tiempo ese concepto invirtió. Te veo como a una hermana, o como a un amigo más, por eso es el momento de un esfuerzo intentar) And to me that's Jake gradually getting bored and losing feelings for Dirk (definitely not projecting here no sir) after finally being together. He doesn't have to yearn anymore because he already has what he has asked for, so now what? Nothing. But Dirk still loves him, and he's invested and desperate and willing to do absolutely everything to keep the man he loves most from moving on, even though he has one foot out the door already.

Just because we aren't seeing more posts about Palestine, doesn't mean the genocide has stopped. Let's keep Praying and speaking up for Gaza, Palestine.

So hard to be a Lalonde liker in a Strilondes society. Not even as a jab at people who enjoy fun family stuff (same) but the way people will talk about Rose being So Dirkcore and conveniently ignore that Rose by design has more in common with Roxy. The fact that there's mountains of analysis for Dirk and Rose and like none for the Lalonde's pains me. What do you mean you hate tragic mother/daughter narratives?

Like Rose and Roxy revolve around each other Literally from the beginning of the story. Act 6 Rose and Roxy spend a great bulk of their time thinking about each other and looking forward to seeing each other. Their addiction narratives mirror each other!!! The way that Roxy encapsulates everything Rose hated about her mother (the wizards, the drinking, the enthusiasm!) while entirely recontextualizing her mother's existence for Rose. There's something about Rose drinking in an attempt to understand her at the same time that Roxy is going sober that gets to me a little. I think there's stuff too about how Rose can come to cope with her and understand her own childhood neglect via spending time with Roxy, in the same way that Roxy can learn that her mom is like. A flawed human being. I don't know. I think there's stuff there that goes so gravely underappreciated By The Masses. They're so interesting *shakes you* love the Lalonde's with me
