Literally the classic Cycle of Abuse /: (

Dennis has a personality disorder and is constantly in a cycle of Nurture/Abandon with Mac and has been for the entire series.  Dennis calling Mac out was about humiliating/abandoning him in a public way to destabilize the security that Dennis returning might have brought him.  It fits perfectly into the Dennis system, but with Mac the cycle has been going on for so long that with every repetition it becomes more and more extreme.  

Leaving was the 2nd N, returning was the I, and crushing him in public is the S.  The reason he thinks he can re-attach women he DENNIS’es is because it keeps working on Mac.  He’s doing to cycle back to D and do something sweet within the next few episodes, which hopefully means we will eventually finally get E since with every repeat it escalates.  

Dennis is a bastard man and this is what he does.  

now that ive had time to experience the vague concept of thought i think my onion is,, we all know the gang are terrible ppl and that thats the whole ass point and that they could never have a lasting relationship outside of each other but the issue has been more with the ethics of shipping macdennis due to their behavior with each other, after they power dynamic in their rs kinda shifted around mid-series ppl have been calling out dennis for being abusive to mac and that its too one sided and i think its good that this ep showed that theres issues on both sides to how they treat each other, theyre both fucked up abusive traumatized ppl and i think this just showed its not as one sided as ppl like to pretend it is. in sum of ree basically i dont think shipping macdennis is any more…. morally negative than it was before and also that dennis being uncomfortable with some of macs behavior and advances is valid but doesnt mean that he cant or doesnt deep down have romantic feelings for mac as most of us have suspected for a long time he has and he’s just not ready. anyways dennis said wig

You know what scene I probably find a lot cuter and sweeter than I should? When Dee is trying to blackmail the asskickers and Charlie confesses he ate a baby toad once. Then he says “it hurts thinking about how scared and confused it was. what if it was looking for its mother? it was just a baby”

I just realized that in the background of this infamous scene there’s a small sticker that says potential is infinite. It just makes me wonder, like what if it’s a very subtle nod at the unexplored romantic potential these two have. And once Dennis realizes how good they could be for each other, nothing can stop them.
