Hi :3 I want to ask you if you have some favourite headcanons about Snames/Jeverus??

Hey, there!

Not sure if these all count as headcanon exactly, but I love to imagine them as:

1. James naturally being a very 'touchy feely' and flirty person

Like if he likes someone well enough he'll rest his arms on their shoulder, envelop them in a bear hug for no reason, punch them playfully on their shoulder, rest his head on their lap when he's going to lie down

The more he comes to realise Snape is actually a truly decent guy (albeit a rudeass and a weirdo) the more he does this, only further encouraged by the fact that this seems to irritate him to no end

Blowing him kisses, wrapping his arms around him from behind while resting his chin on his shoulder, pinching his cheeks, cupping his face, sitting next to him shoulder to shoulder and knee to knee, even more so than with anybody else

Until he realises he's forming a crush and pulls back immediately to stop it from escalating

But by then Severus is already used to it, confused and strangly cold without James’s furnace body obnoxiously plastering itself all over him

2. Snape having no regard for personal space

While he's annoyed with James’s little shows of affection at first it's more to do with James being James than hating human contact

He does this thing where he will get all up in James's face, to where it almost looks intimate

If he's angry enough he'll grab James by his collar and whisper bloody murder in his ear

This is incidentally James’s bisexual awakening

Severus's speaking in a low, deep voice, his breath beating against his ear and neck, his fist against his chest, his words that can be taken one way or another

4. James being a whole Aries

Since we don't actually know all that much about James as a character from canon alone, I love to think of him as your 'typical' Aries. Especially cause he fits the bill so perfectly so far

5. James having to catch himself anytime Severus says something particularly hilarious out of nowhere

6. Severus blown away by James’s ingenuity and intelligence each time cause he acts like a complete imbecile most of the time

7. James getting inexplicably peeved when anyone outside of his posse calls Snape 'Snivellus' or messes with him

8. Snape is autistic and James is a hyperactive mess

James talks with his hands, feet, face, words

He talks stupid fast, with his mouth full, while moving around, he'll draw the thing out on whatever piece of paper or blackboard he can find

It's a sensory overload

Snape looking slightly to the left of James when he talks to understand wth he's even talking about

9. James coming up with the plans and Severus pulling them through to the end

10. Severus being James's impuls control and the one to clean up his inevitable mess

11. James teaching Snape to let loose and not take every rule too seriously

12. James doing little things to take care of him like

Putting more food on his plate

Putting a bottle of water in front of him to make sure he hydrates

Bringing over/making him coffee like an unspoken morning ritual

Covering him in his sleep so he won't be cold

Bringing over groceries every time he visits

Leaving his stuff at Snape's place like shampoo and pillows

"Keep it, I can just use it next time"

And he does so Snape can't argue

13. James going way out of his way for the people he loves without thinking of holding it over them

14. Snape slowly warming up when he notices this

15. And going back to wanting to strangle him when James proceeds to do shit like

Calling him every variation of 'Prince' after learning about his other surname from nosing into his Potions book

Dramatically throwing his jacket over a shallow puddle like the chivalrous knight he is

Let's talk about it, cause I'm not buying that she did all this just over a job she did years ago.

Not my first pick but I'll do it

Y'know, okay fair enough! But explain the rest of it. Choices were made in its production and you can't tell me they were random

Sexuality

Well, first of all:

Melanie has talked about being raised in a "traditional Latin household" and how she'd been made to feel ashamed of her sexuality.

But also:

Eating all the rainbow cookies

Rainbow associating with LGBT, and cookies I'll talk about in a minute. For those who don't know btw, Melanie is bisexual herself. While she's LBTQ herself, she can still pass as straight.

Next,

The unforgiving nature of the church

My boss is Mother Mary

Catch me slipping through the concrete

Show no mercy, step right on me

Stiletto death, send me to purgatory

And,

Arbitrary, the way they all go

Knock 'em down like she a dodge ball

Little mess up and she's angry

One downfall, she blame the whole team

Oppressive and nitpicky huh?

I don't know if she was raised in a Christian household to be fair but there's no other way for me to interpret this when she outright tells us her boss is Mother freaking Mary. This whole bakery represents Christianity/ the church.

Moving on,

The role of women

The bakery, tryna make some more

Bearing and raising children. Except she has no real say in their actual upbringing, cause that's where the Church takes over. Their minds, lives, outlook, morality and identity are shaped according to Christian standards

We talked about rainbow cookies earlier, and we just talked about the Church rolling out the dough... Melanie herself is the dough being shaped and formed... The shape is a girl in a skirt, which later gets decorated very plainly... I mean 2 + 2 + 2 + 2= ?

With a bow tied, ribbon, stop it

Eating all the rainbow cookies

Okay so this might be a total stretch, but hear me out:

She only mentions the rainbow cookies getting eaten. Like the faulty products that aren't good enough to be sold, so they're consumed and done away with by the staff members. The others are packed, tied with a ribbon and sent off.

Melanie was prettied up in a pink dress and blue accessories and packed off, presumably, to her mother in law's house. Where she isn't eaten but still cut up and layed out bleeding:

I don't know what to do with this... but:

I'm sorry, but this girl has horns^

And hooves^!!

There's parts in this song that I can't figure out what she could possibly mean by them, so I'm not drawing any conclusions but I do want to open this discussion.
