Characters: Layla

Summary: Layla had captured your heart, and you caught hers

Warnings: Just pure fluff

It was a rather mellow day for Y/n, as most of the commissions they had accepted were finished. This was the same with the odd jobs they had done for the Akedemiya. They were wondering the streets of Sumeru city, finishing up any of the last minute shopping they needed to do before they got home. 

They glanced at the wares of some pop up shops that surrounded the city, but a figure caught their eye. Y/n turned to face bright dandelion eyes that stared into their e/c ones. Y/n looked away, feeling flustered by the beauty that had walked next to them. The girl that stared at Y/n softly smiled at them, slowly reaching for their s/c hand. 

“Hello there Y/n. What are you doing in Sumeru City?”

Y/n’s cheeks were graced with a gentle blush, trying to look for an answer. Y/n had weird feeling directed at the girl in front of them. All thoughts were wiped from their head as their eyes trailed down to their hand. Why was Y/n feeling like this?

“O-oh! H-Hello Layla, uhm, I-I’m shopping f-for groceries. W-what about you?”

Y/n internally facepalmed at all the stuttering that flowed out of their mouth. This was not how they were hoping this interaction would go at all. Layla, however, softly giggled at Y/n and their response. She seemed to notice how Y/n was feeling. 

“I was looking for you, actually. I was curious if you could come over and have dinner with me! If it’s not too much to ask, that is.”

Y/n’s flustered feelings had increased tenfold. They didn’t expect this was why Layla came all this way, just to find them. Something in Y/n’s heart felt warm and loved. Not just that, but there was this feeling of feeling special that made them jump to cloud 9. 

“O-oh! Of course not! I-I’d love to come over!”

Later that evening, after Y/n had put away everything they bought and got ready, Y/n arrived at Layla’s home. Upon entering, there was a scent of a wonderful meal being cooked and not just that but a homely smell that seemed very distinct to Layla. Y/n looked around, amazed with where Layla had resided. Layla came to the door to great her friend. 

“Welcome to my home, Y/n. Feel free to make yourself at home…”

Layla had yawned slightly, Y/n giggled seeing Layla acting like see usually does. It was odd, though, the pattern that Y/n had noticed with Layla. She would never be as tired as she was typically when Y/n was there. Y/n was pulled out of their thoughts when Layla grabbed their hand, leading them to a small dining area. 

“Here, have a seat. Dinner is almost done.”

Y/n sat down, feeling a bit guilty. They looked back to meet Layla’s enchanting yellow eyes. They felt themselves getting lost in those yellow eyes. Everything around them seemed to freeze.

“Is there something you need Y/n?”

“O-oh! No, uhm, I wanted to ask if you need any help!”

Lalya only shook her head as she walked off to grab the food. Y/n fiddled with their fingers, anxious as to how this night would go. Their emotions were making them all confused. They didn’t know why they felt so happy and comforted when they were around Layla. 

Not a minute later did Layla come back with a wonderful meal in hand. She set it down and Y/n admired it all. It was a mix of new foods they heard Layla talk to them about to some of their favorites. After everything was finished, the two gathered their plates and washed them together.  

That whole time was a bunch of cute, playful gestures from both Layla and Y/n. They lightly splashed water at each other, met with fleeting touches. It left Y/n so confused and flustered. Then something unexpected happened.

Layla faced Y/n, getting closer to their body. She gently cupped Y/n’s flushed face, taking in those e/c eyes. She slowly brought her lips to Y/n’s, making Y/n’s face erupt in a deep blush. The kiss lasted for only a short time, but it felt like an eternity to Y/n.

“W-What was that for L-Layla?”

Y/n brought their hand to their lips, trying to keep the touch from Layla preserved on their skin. Layla panicked slightly, unsure what to say. She mumbled apologies, but they fell on deaf ears. Y/n was still stuck in the kiss Layla had graced them with. 

All of a sudden, Y/n grabbed Layla’s hand, and kissed her softly. She blushed, but deepened the kiss. Y/n smiled as they pulled away, not letting go of the girl’s hand. Layla had led Y/n to her room, laying on the bed with them.

They cuddled until the end of the night. Layla had held Y/n so close, they were smiling like an idiot. Y/n was unsure as to where to put their hands, feeling anxious being so close to Layla. Y/n finally understood what they were feeling.

“I love you Layla, so very much.”
