Meta Knight wakes up one day and finds Kirby trying to walk in heels. Meta knight is so proud. No one else really understands it.

He’s doing his best

The awful dad appears! He looks a lot like meta and the two share some mannerisms, but his personality is very different. My headcanon for his past was that he was banished from shiver star long ago for practicing forbidden magic. He was still a fairly decent/ normal guy at this point until he founded NME and experimented on himself. He used the shards of a long gone eldritch god to turn into one himself. Nightmare’s bitterness at being exiled slowly twisted his personality, and by the time the two sons his old self loved so dearly incubated fully, he was a monster. Morpho and Meta were doomed the day they emerged from the lab... Fun facts: -His human name had the initials N.M. He only remembers his first name, Nil. -Good dreams dampen his abilities, thus why he avoided dreamland for so long -He prefers Meta over Morpho, and still hopes that his “wayward” son will return to him. -Nightmare is torn by guilt deep within, namely over the treatment of his sons. A partial redemption could be possible if he works through his manipulative nature. -Game verse Nightmare treated his sons well physically and even got along with them sometimes, but his mind games still wreaked havoc. Anime verse... you don’t want to know. Anime meta is messed up because of him. -Customer service is in the game verse as well, he just stays at the company headquarters. Nightmare gives him migraines with his micromanaging and general eldritch shenanigans. -“Sir I know it calms you down but please stop tossing me into the 7th dimension when you’re angry. I don’t have time in my schedule to bleed from the ears and babble in arcane languages for three hours” -He hopes meta will become a proper eldritch god someday. He likes to terrify meta by sending letters telling him that his “eldritch puberty” is coming soon. -He’s a masterful manipulator and businessman Well, that’s all. I tried to humanize him a bit more without excusing his nastiness towards Morpho and Meta. Enjoy!
