He was a good parenting figure for Kidou.

Was he stern? Yes of course, but seeing the kind of enviroment Kidou had to adapt to, a stern upbringing was what he needed. Yes, of course it was a lot to put on a child’s back, but in the end it was all just to make him a good heir to the Kidou family. And guess what, he did become the Perfect Boss thanks to him. Not mentioning that he wouldn’t have been the Absolute Leader of the Pitch if it wasn’t for Kageyama. So, if you scratch the “throwing shits at children” thing and only consider the rest, he was kind of a positive figure in Kidou’s life? Or at least he resulted in good things, eventually-
