I dream of escaping this hell with my family and returning to continue my studies, but the road ahead is blocked. Starved for so long, I tear into the pomegranate with a desperate hunger, hoping it might calm the storm inside me. But all it gives me is more to consume.

I stare at the wreckage—how fitting. The pomegranate is a cruel mirror, laying bare the turmoil within;

the red of my rage, the black of my despair. I wonder if I am merely the sum of these shattered fragments. Perhaps, in this mess, I’ve finally foun the answers I’ve been dreading.
