Polypa Goezee X Reader

Polypa Goezee x Reader

Popcorn littered the floor in a spray of carnage, the large olive bowl it had been in was tipped over to its side. On your laptop screen the credits to some Alternian romcom was playing in its distorted way, the quality hadn’t been the best but you hadn’t put it on for yourself. Your arm had fallen asleep where Polypa was using it as a pillow, her hair still damp from the shower earlier. She looked peaceful like this, one arm thrown over your stomach and the other cradling the back of your neck gingerly- she was always so careful to guard your weak spots- one of her legs was hooked over yours and a soft purr was rumbling from her chest. Rubbing her arm the best you could when it was trapped underneath her you carefully reached with the other to shut your laptop. It was late and you were exhausted from the feelings jam the both of you had hammered out earlier in the night. Cocooned in the soft blankets and pillows that made up your pile it was easy to wiggle just a bit and get comfortable. In her sleep Polypa lightly tightened her grip and shifted closer, that soft purr turning into a deeper rumble that vibrated your own chest where she was pressed as close as she could get to you. The rest of your room was shrouded in darkness, the curtains drawn shut to give you both a better sense of privacy. Polypa had arranged the pile to be on the far side of your room between the wall and your bed, the door shut and locked on the other side. Your little corner was secure and close to a vent that was providing plenty of heat for the both of you. Warm and content your mind drifted from one thought to the next. You’d missed this, the easy way you and Polypa coexisted when it was just the two of you. Ever since the reset and getting back your memories you’d been searching for your friends. You’d finally found them after two years of constant vigilance. This new shared world had been a blessing and though it still proved to have its fair share of problems you couldn’t help but to be grateful. It had given you your friends back. All of them safe and sound in a world less harsher than the one they remembered. You smiled to remember how you’d found Polypa. Despite all the places you had looked you’d ran into her at the mall of all things. You had both made fools of yourself crying all over each other and clinging to the point an employee had to ask you both to take it somewhere else. That had been a year ago. Since then the two of you spent as much time as you could with each other, most of those early days had been getting to know each other again- reassuring each other that your relationship was still there. Even now there were times that you had to reassure each other that the other was there. Things weren’t easy. They never had been. Between the two of you and the things this world like to throw at you trouble was a familiar companion. But the two of you were finding your rhythm and learning together how to survive and thrive. This world wasn’t exactly kind, there were things that kept you up at night, made you sick to your stomach. Problems from your world carried over to this one and the problems on Alternia had also settled here. Some problems had been dealt away with, had to be in order to coexist, but others only amplified. There were people out there that didn’t understand your relationship with Polypa- that openly scorned it. Sometimes it made you wonder if your moirail would be better off without you.

Running a hand through Polypa’s hair you sighed. You deserved to be selfish, at least in this regard. Polypa was your moirail and no one could take her away from you. Pressing a soft kiss to her forehead you settled fully against her. It was far too late in the night- or rather far too early in the morning- for these thoughts. A clawed hand gently pressed against your cheek as Polypa’s eyes cracked open a sliver. Warm and understanding as she gazed at you.

“Sleep.”

And you slept.

Home pt. 3

(part 3 of the home series)

There were a lot of things you’d gotten used to as of late. Lying to your parents being first and foremost. You’d gotten surprisingly good at it. Unfortunately you hadn't gotten used to lying to your sister and as such, you were crashing and burning. Big time. Your sister had called you an hour before your morning alarm had gone off, before either of your parents had woken up, she had been a nervous wreck. Between the culture clash of dwarven vs human weddings and meeting in-laws your sister was close to a break down. It had never truly occurred to you that weddings- especially interspecies ones- could be so stress inducing. Her poor fiancée was clueless on how to help calm her and just as stressed.

That was how you’d found yourself at their house pouring over wedding plans and getting a crash course in dwarven culture. They wanted a blend of both human and dwarven customs, a way to stay true to themselves and show they knew exactly what they were getting into. It was a romantic notion. Then your roll in the wedding had popped up. Your sister was adamant you were to be a guest of honor. Her fiancée agreed, after all they had decided days ago that you were going to be the one to walk your sister down the aisle. It had been well and good to talk about. Certainly something to ease the tension.

“So (y/n), do you have a plus one to bring with you?” Your sister had asked as you helped look over dress designs. The question hadn't fully registered with your brain before you were opening your mouth.

“Not really, I haven't been spending much time with my usual friends since taking another job.”

“You took another job?” Your mind screeched to a halt as you realized what you had just said. Shit. Your sister wasn't supposed to know about that! God, you’d been so careful. There was still time to salvage this.

“Ah, yeah. Its for your wedding present. Don't think you can get any more information about it though! Its a surprise.” You laughed it off but your sister wasn't fooled by your nervous fidgeting.

“(y/n)…” Oh no. Not the concerned voice. You were a sucker for it. She cradled your hands in hers across the table and even her fiancée looked concerned for you. It was too much. You were so close to spilling your guts to them.

“What’s that face for?” You asked with a mischievous smile. It was fake but your sister didn't need to know that. Not at all. She frowned at you as you carefully pulled your hands away. No doubt she wasn't going to let this go, but there must have been someone out their who loved you because she did drop it.

“We’ll talk about this later, okay? Right now I need your opinion on what colors we should use for the theme.” The relief you felt was palpable. When you left, a full six hours later, your sister and sister-in-law crushed you into a tight hug. For a moment you didn't want to leave at all. But you had to. You couldn't stay with your sister forever, being a third wheel was not your idea of fun, and you had things to do. But you still lingered in their embrace.

Tagora Gorjek x Reader

He ran at a temperature best described as lukewarm, it was always the first thing you were reminded of when you spent time with him. He wasn’t the coldest of the trolls you knew of course. Granted, neither of you got to do so as much as you’d have liked. He was a busy troll and you had your own things to stress over. Your chats and gossip were usually reserved for facetime on whatever app or device happened to be handy. Tagora had a strict schedule and while yours was more hectic due to family matters he always made time to talk. But luckily for you both of you had found the time to hang out in person again. It was a breath of fresh air- even if the pampering made you squirm. You knew that Tagora liked having a ‘spa buddy’ but that didn’t mean you didn’t feel bad for him spending all that money on you. As much as he made up a big deal about your debt to him you also knew him well enough now to know he was full of shit. He was throwing prices out there and not keeping track of what you owed at all. That and he wouldn’t let you pay him back even when you did have the money. He liked spoiling you for some asinine reason though you were getting better at returning the favor.

Like now. A bottle of iridescent teal tail polish and that Starbucks he liked so much sitting on the little bedside table and a couple of ridiculously fluffy bathrobes- it’d been a dent to your wallet but that was fine really- you were finally going to hang out together. You’d both planned this day weeks in advance and Tagora hadn’t shut up about all the new products he wanted to try with you. Some of it you’d looked up and nearly had a heart attack at the prices. You knew you shouldn’t have checked the prices on the products because it always led to you being anxious about using them but there were a few troll products humans couldn’t use without consequences and you liked to be careful. Luckily Tagora was almost as vigilant as you when it came to products. Which was why you were both reclined on the human bed he’d gotten just for the two of you, your skin was so silky smooth now it felt like you’d gotten rid of a years worth of grime. It also smelled nice- certainly not as strong as most human products were. Just a faint scent that you wouldn’t have noticed if it weren’t for the sheer amount of it you’d both used. Somewhere in Tagora’s hive you could hear Ferret dad scuttling around and the soft sound of Tagora breathing. The bed shifted and you opened an eye to watch him grab his Starbucks from the table and sit up slightly. He looked peaceful laying back with you and drinking that sugary monstrosity. The rigid way he usually help himself had melted away to loose shoulders and half lidded eyes. They were filling out more with teal lately- an indicator of an adult molt coming up. He’d mentioned it a couple of times asking you to check in on his lusus when the molt hit and make sure nothing in his fridge rotted. That bit of biology lesson had been enlightening as well as deeply disturbing. It also saddened you to think Ferret dad would be leaving to find a new charge soon. Reaching over you grabbed Tagora’s free hand and gave it a squeeze. His lips twitched around his straw as he squeezed back. This was your favorite part of your spa days, just relaxing together. Being able to reach out and hold hands when you wanted to. He gave you a gentle tug as he leaned back over to set his drink on the table. When he settled again there was that familiar sly grin- sharp teeth poking out from behind black lips- that told you he had some sort of juicy gossip to share with you.

“You won’t believe what I overheard the other day.” He started, voice hushed with glee. Oh, you thought with your own smile, this was going to be good.

LIGHTSVERSE

Okay so this is gonna be a quick and dirty guide until I solidify what the hell I’m doing with this.

So this is set on an alternate Earth to Earth C. Earth C never came to be in this timeline. While trolls and humans live in relative peace together its implied that Alternia still exists and travel between the two worlds is fairly common. I may explore this more as the series progresses but maybe not. Depends on how it goes. The series is focused on MSPAR’s trauma regarding the games. I took liberty with this, in my version MSPAR was under heavy mind control but vaguely able to recognize something was Wrong and that They Wouldn’t Act Like This freely. When Doc Scratch snaps them out of it the reader is left with the memories and the violation. MSPAR is dealing with the fallout of it all alone, they are aware of their ‘friends’ being nearby but refuse to make the first move. This series is less of the reader jumping onto the “friends!!” bandwagon and more of their former friends tentatively reaching out. All of this will be coded as platonic but you can read a romantic subtext to it if you’d like. I may explore the romantic aspects later on but that will be its own thing.

This whole thing started with Boldir Lamati and I’m gonna go for gold and try to do everyone. Some characters will get reoccurring scenes or multiple parts but again that depends on where this takes me. Once I figure out the links I will have a master post of the series but until then its just click on the Lightsverse tag and scroll. Sorry about that. Out of all the characters Polypa will be the most prevalent through the series because one- I love her and two- the exploration of moiraillegiance is my jam. So there’s that.

As always I will end this with the usual: My askbox is open forever so if there are requests, questions, or general bullfuckery feel free to absolutely light it up.

Modern Fantasy Headcanons #1

While its more common in wealthier private schools, children can choose to take a nonhuman language. In recent years some forms of elvish are slowly being introduced into public education as an elective and most students can choose to take nonhuman history if they wish to learn more about other creatures beyond The Fae Wars.

However, mixed schools have shown that a surprising number of children will pick up on each others languages and learn them that way. This has caused quite a few calls home when a student uses a bit of slang that a teacher is not familiar with and is assumed to be something insulting (this- rather interestingly- only seems to be the case in a half of the situations). In some cases children, especially younger ones, have no idea they are learning a different language at all.

Some schools with a student mentor program find putting two different races together leads to the older teaching the younger their language for easier communication. A desertion piece by Dr. Lightfoot called ‘Why Your Children Talk The Way They Do’ goes further in depth on the subject of shared languages amongst children and teens.

When asked why the children started learning a nonhuman language the answers ranged from ‘to communicate more fluidly’ to ‘enjoying the sound of it’.
