I really liked your prompt of Hongou as Scrooge from A Christmas Carol, so I decided to write a fic based on that prompt. I hope you like it!

[Spoilers for 999, including its Q&A]

Prompt: Christmas Carol: Hongou Scrooge, Aoi and Light ghost of christmas past, Seven and Lotus ghost of christmas present, Akane and mini Akane ghost of christmas future.

Possible sensitive topics/trigger warnings: Poverty, school bullying, Gordain’s game and the Nonary Game, suicide. Also swearing, but I guess that’s a given, considering Aoi’s part of the story lol.

Chapter I: A phantasmagorical being

It was a cold and misty Christmas Eve morning. Gentarou Hongou, CEO of a small medical company named Cradle Pharmaceuticals, walked through the city’s streets wrapped in his warmest coat as he headed towards the company’s headquarters. To be fair, the so-called ‘headquarters’ were a normal apartment he had bought and remodelled to use as an office and a clinic, but he liked calling it ‘headquarters’ anyway, since it made it seem like an important company.

It's the tail end of the year and I'm realizing I didn't get to do a bunch of things I wanted to. This year came with way too many, and I mean MANY new adjustments for me irl, and I'm pretty sure I won't get around to any of it these next two months either. Which is fine! Life sure happens and I'm honestly in a good place despite the mess that it's been, I won't undersell that feat just for not being productive enough

I lived on my own for the first time through most of the year which has been really great but busy but a lot of aspects of my mental health improved because of it! I got back into college which has been mostly okay, I got to make a presentation about my favorite game while wearing an outfit inspired by my favorite character in it that was definetly a highlight. Getting back into zero escape for a bit felt like a nice break as well since the small fandom is more than chill to interact with, I didn’t feel as anxious posting my writing for it as I do with kingdom hearts and also like 999 means a lot to me ok I... it just does, for a lot of different reasons and these were good shaky times to revisit it 

An example of something I wanted to get started on was commissions! A couple of wonderful people did reach out to me throughout the year and get me to try it out for the first time and I'm so grateful for the experience I've had so far, however I never got the nerve to properly post a commission sheet and actually open up slots on my own. Mostly because I always got scared off by thinking posting it will be the only time it'll get traction and therefore I should wait? Now I'm nearing finals and dealing with new health stuff that has me behind on every single deadline so I'm thinking about opening them around January, since it's when I'll get free time. Not sure that'd technically be a good month for it though? I’m doing some polls on other social medias to sort that out

Since this is on Tumblr any replies or asks with advice or questions are welcome! I am trying to be chill about interacting here more often since I've been getting such nice replies and tags to my stuff, and just all around fun again! I'm just awkward with any social media, and worried about oversharing or being annoying when people are here for art 

But do know that every nice tag always makes me a bit prouder of my art and makes me smile ^w^ (and laugh a bit too loud sometimes, and quote it to my friends if the cholalia latche on to it, and convince me to actually commit to finishing an animatic)

It's just under a minute because I heard the song and only started thinking about Akane by the time the lyrics uttered the words "Heroine" and "Repeating Play" then had a very vivid mental image for this last bit. The rest of the song really doesn't fit them though lol
