wait wait imma actually try to write down the plot summary for the new au i am working on!!

so like, basically one day hollow decides enough is enough, and decides to challenge the radiance to a duel to the death (instead of waiting to be sealed) they didn't even know if they'd make it out alive tbh, they just wanted her reign of terror to end. they couldn't take watching their allies fall ill and succumb to the infection anymore. they HAVE somehow defeated radiance! although they did lose an arm in the fight, and were pretty badly hurt, they managed to return to the palace with one of radiance's horns. so imagine how confused, worried, and shocked you'd be when your missing pure vessel returns at 3 am in the morning, is missing an arm, probably on one mask, but has defeated radiance!! some time passes. hollow starts to recover from their injuries, and hallownest is also coming back to "normal" (or at least what is normal for a post-apocalypse kingdom)... but then there is a sudden rise in infection.. hollow starts to notice that they are experiencing some symptoms of infection too...

what if pale king didn’t actually die, what if he was in some kind of hibernation state(until someone rudely woke him up)?

i imagine interrupting this process can cause some unpleasant side effects. maybe he lost some memories? maybe he has no idea where he is and how much time has passed? we’ll see

and yes, he will eventually leave the palace and meet hornet (and perhaps hollow), i couldn’t pass such an opportunity
