Disney Cruise is trying to get ahold of this urban reef area, that is protected by federal government, to expand their Disney Cruises franchise. This will destroy thousands of individuals that live on the reef, including hundreds of different kinds of corals, manatees, and many species of fish. The locals are speaking up about it: you should too! All it takes is a click and you will have signed the petition to keep Disney away from this natural beauty. do not force autistic people to do something they say they can't do just because you think they're exaggerating. do not touch or hug an autistic person if they told you they hate the feeling of it. it could trigger a meltdown or a shutdown, and it is literally the worst feeling in the world. and no, it's not "just a temper tantrum." they're not being dramatic. you're just being an asshole. basically, just respect other people's boundaries. this shouldn't even have to be said. it's basic human decency.

i wanna step on them, literally. like ok i know that having an autistic child presents unique challenges but...like, so does every child???? like maybe your child will have a lisp or something. maybe they will have a heart condition. maybe they will be an extrovert while you are an introvert. like...this isn’t the fucking sims you don’t get to choose traits for your child. and you ESPECIALLY don’t get to beat/punish the traits out of them, especially if it is something that they can’t help (LIKE AUTISM OR THEIR SEXUALITY)

like this isn’t a choose your own adventure. seriously. if you are a mom that has an autistic child and you: support that child unconditionally, educate yourself about the spectrum, keep open communication with your child, make sure your child trusts you, and avoid things that your child says bothers them... Then you are amazing. It’s kinda sad that you’re amazing though because this should be the standard for all parents of autistic / ND kids. 

if you are a parent with an autistic child and you: support autism speaks, use the term “quiet hands” or “light it up blue”, use the puzzle piece symbol, film melt downs, force eye contact, say your child was “stolen”, or say that you wished your child wasn’t this way...you fucking suck. go sit in a graveyard and wait for death because that’s clearly the most productive thing you could ever do with your miserable life. i hope it rains on all of your birthday parties.
