Celtic Christianity so so cool!

"They are unusual people: dedicated, and full of the Holy Spirit. They are also sometimes anti-social, quirky, and plain obstinate. They love remote islands, where they can contemplate the Creator through the creation - sun, moon and stars, winds and frost, mountains and seas and forest, birds and fish and great seals. They bless freely, and they curse freely. They lived plainly, and prayed much."

-Prof. Kathleen Jones on the Celtic Saints

Definitely my favourite flavour of christianity.

So true! Special revelation that adds to the gospel is to be avoided.

“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar."

Proverbs 30:5-6

The Fanaticism Which Discards The Scripture, Under The Pretense Of Resorting To Immediate Revelations

“The fanaticism which discards the Scripture, under the pretense of resorting to immediate revelations is subversive of every principle of Christianity. For when they boast extravagantly of the Spirit, the tendency is always to bury the Word of God so they may make room for their own falsehoods.” - John Calvin

"Sin is deadly, its monstrous. You need to fear it. You need to run from it."

-Paul Washer

The idea of telling people 'this is sin stop it!' is so alien in our world.

But it is so needed.

It is not loving to let people continue in sin that destroys them! God loves you! He does not forbid you from doing anything that would help you!

Satan comes to kill steal and destroy. Sin is giving in to him. It is not out of judgement or hatred that I tell you to flee from sin, it is out of great love and compassion!

Cool Philosophy of Christianity Moments

Guys look at this bit in a philosophy paper I'm reading:

The result of God’s eternity is that in respect of time God can be more present with regard to a human person Paula than any other contemporary human person Jerome can be. As regards Paula, her contemporary Jerome can be present only one time slice after another. When Paula is thirty years old, for example, neither her three-year old self nor her sixty-year old self are available to Jerome. But eternal God is present at once to every time of Paula’s life; none of Paula’s life is ever absent or unavailable for God.

Man I love this subject. You'll be studying metaphysics and hard logic puzzles thousands of years old right alongside Aquinas, and then bam! They hit you with a reminder or God's awesomeness.

God is not just with you now... from His perspective, He is with 60 year old you and 6 year old you, right now. God has got you. At every moment of your life. He holds it all in His hands.

bless you all
