That one scene while they are all escaping WCKD in TST, Minho just throws himself at a guard and knocks the dude out while Newt is just like “Shit, Minho” all surprised

The Maze Runner movies, in a nutshell, are "go!" and "shit!". Literally. Has anyone ever counted how many times they said "shit"? It brings me so much joy. Every time.

The day has come and I’ve finally finished watching the The Artful Dodger and I’m holding back so many emotions because it’s just too good.. like wow I need a minute to process everything

Oh man, this struck a cord..

We all know Newt was the kind of guy to always look out for his friends and always have them as a priority, never taking care of whatever shit was hurting him.

And not just that, but he wouldn’t let anyone take care of him, — of course not, because, after his attempt back in the Glade, all of his friends would constantly fill him with questions and worried, pitiful looks and he hated it. So he promised himself to never let his guard down again, not wanting to be a burden when everyone should be worrying about much more important stuff.

Also just because he was always the one to look out for everyone. He had this nature of caring about the ones he loved and he’d die like that.

But let’s think that, when Thomas came along, Newt changed; He eventually allowed Thomas to get closer and take care of him in a way no one else ever did — not even Minho or Alby.

And it wasn’t something he wanted at first, because one morning in the Glade in which he was particularly down and very quiet, Thomas just pulled him to the side during breakfast and asked him “What’s wrong?” of course, Thomas being Thomas, he wouldn’t get away until Newt responded.

Then it grew stronger. Thomas would constantly check on Newt every time he could or felt Newt needed some care — that being bandaging up a wound or having deep talks around fires during the cold nights of the Scorch.

Newt started to get used to it. To like it, even. He would always pretend he didn’t need any of that, but they both knew how much it meant to him.

But all of this was just until — of course, — he started to feel symptoms of the Flare. When he first started to notice changes in his attitude, mind and body, he closed himself entirely from Thomas.

When Thomas asked him how he was doing, he dryly answered with few words, not even looking into the boy’s eyes. He did this until Thomas noticed his change of behavior.

Yet, when Thomas did notice it, he also discovered the Flare inside Newt.

And Newt didn’t care too much anymore at that point. He didn’t care if Thomas felt sad or looked at him with pity. — He wouldn’t have to deal with it very soon, anyway.
