I want to do some serious damage to your junk!

I’ve noticed a trend. I’ve been a bit slow in recognizing this but then maybe not. Maybe I’ve just been slow in accepting it. The trend is using negative words or phrases as terms of endearment, terms such as bitch, ho, whore, slut, cunt, etc. For example, a girl might call her girlfriend “my bitch” or “my slut” or “my whore” or a guy might say “Don’t you call my bitch a whore, you slut!” Now, the former is just clearly a contradiction of terms by previously accepted standards. I mean, how does one derive a term of endearment from the word “bitch”? Now, the latter requires some serious examination. Let’s tear it apart using today’s acceptable terminology. The first person is angry w the second person, whom the first person is endeared to, for referring to the first person’s significant other using a term of endearment. We’ll put that one aside because I’m sure I just didn’t get that right. ~ Trabue Gentry

On Pain and Pleasure

I propose the following: Negative is the default state, thereby making pain the default sensation. In our normal condition, we do not seek things that cause us pain. Rather, we seek pain relief. We don't find drugs or devices that cause us pain in the pharmaceutical section. Instead, we find pain relievers. Those who do seek pain do so because they either derive pleasure from pain or relieve one pain by masking it w another. What we perceive as pleasure is actually escape from pain. When someone uses drugs for the purpose of pleasure they tend not to be satisfied until they are feeling as much pleasure as is practical. Often, this pursuit leads to death, the ultimate pain reliever. Most would say that such risk or even choice is not practical. The argument for this would be in the proof itself. In other words, that there are those who take such risk despite their awareness of the risk or willingly choose death despite the possible perceived consequences demonstrates that such pursuits are worth it to them. Given that all of this is true, one might conclude that relief from pain is what provides us w purpose and that death is our ultimate reward for endurance. Perhaps we are all aware of this to some degree since we have created such slogans as "He went to his ultimate reward.", "He looks so peaceful." and "Rest in peace." I invite your arguments. ~ Trabue Gentry

Radioheads The King Of Limbs Was A Disappointing Departure From Their Standard Fare Of Independent Alternative

Radiohead’s “The King of Limbs” was a disappointing departure from their standard fare of independent alternative genius. It was disheartening. Recently, they released their long overdue latest album “A Moon Shaped Pool” which was at least reminiscent of their trademark sound. It was gratifying to see their latest return to the Radiohead fold. it inspired me to do a revisit of their previous catalogue and research their latest activities. It reminded me of running to the nearest drugstore news stand when the Beatles would release a new album and excitedly thumb through the fan magazines for the latest scoop. I was perusing Radiohead’s videos on YouTube and ran across one of their title’s that I didn’t recall performed live from The Basement and decided to give it a listen. It was fantastic. Digging for information, I was surprised to find that it was the first cut on “The King of Limbs”. It was a vast improvement over the original album release which sounded more like an unfinished rough. So allow me to turn you on to “Bloom” from the Radiohead video album “The King Of Limbs - Live from The Basement” ~ Trabue Gentry

Life is not fair or unfair. It just is. People you love die. Things we don't like happen. No amount of anger, grieving or prayer is going to change the past or the inevitable. You just have to walk through it all as an observer and not as a participant, even in your own death. Take advantage of all the good that life has to offer and throw away the rest. Entertaining the negative is worthless and will serve only to make you miserable. Be happy and beat the human program. It's a choice that is within your power to make.

I Just Learned Something Fun By Accident. It's Like "Cool! An Easter Egg That The Easter Bunny Didn't

I just learned something fun by accident. It's like "Cool! An Easter egg that the Easter Bunny didn't even know about!" Well, here's a quick and dirty way to look at a picture on your iphone or iPad upside down (or right side up depending on how wasted you were when you took the picture) w out the image continually re-orienting itself upside down (or right side up) again as you turn your devise to try to look at it. Sure, there are settings you can change or you can edit the picture but what's the fun in that? Just place your fingertip anywhere on the screen and turn the phone until the image is oriented the way you want it, then take your finger off the screen. The image will stay put until you turn the phone around again. That's it! Is it useful? Not much. But like I said, it's cool! It will probably work on Android too since they stole the technology from Apple. ~ Trabue Gentry

Three Things Can Not Hide For Long: The Moon, The Sun And The Truth. Gautama Buddha (via Purplebuddhaproject)

Three things can not hide for long: the Moon, the Sun and the Truth. — Gautama Buddha (via purplebuddhaproject)

I agree w the moon and the Sun...to a degree. However, certain Truths (not sure why it's capitalized since it's not a proper noun) have been elusive to humankind since the beginning of man, about 40,000 years, and throughout all of human history. What makes Gautama Buddha think that truth can't remain hidden forever? What proof does he offer? Where is the Truth in his statement? It eludes me. ~ Trabue Gentry

This Meme Simply Does Not Apply To Me: I Spend About 90% Of My Time In Bed, Not Just Sleeping. I Don't

This meme simply does not apply to me: I spend about 90% of my time in bed, not just sleeping. I don't sleep very much unless I'm sick or depressed. I just live there eating, sleeping, watching TV, having sex, talking in person or on the phone w whomever, working and playing at my computer, etc. When I'm not in bed I wear shoes only when necessary. Most days I never find an occasion to wear shoes. I hate shoes and socks I like bare feet. Besides the discomfort, I use my feet like hands. I pick up things around the house w them, pick up dirty clothes and drop them in the hamper...things like that. Beats bending over. If I were performing on stage I would perform barefoot. I have as much use for clothes as I do shoes and socks. Around the house I don't wear clothes unless the temp dips too much, then it's flannel PJ bottoms and a t-shirt and maybe an open flannel shirt over that. Good grief, is Hugh Hefner my real father?! ~ Trabue Gentry

If This Meme Is Trying To Say "two 'tick' Ets To 'pair Of Dice'" Then It's Pretty Lame. Consider This:

If this meme is trying to say "two 'tick' ets to 'pair of dice'" then it's pretty lame. Consider this: die is singular for this particular game piece. Dice is plural. Therefore, a pair of dice would be two sets of an unspecified number of die. Ergo, the correct term would be "two tickets to a pair of die" or, simply, "two tickets to dice". However, if only one person was going on this "trip" it would be correct to say "one ticket to die". I don't think I want to play this game. ~ Trabue Gentry

Getting To Truth Through Process Of Elimination?

Getting to Truth Through Process of Elimination?

"I don’t think there is any truth. There are only points of view." — Allen Ginsberg I disagree w Ginsberg on this. How could you have a point of view if a truth doesn't exist? For example, we may all look at a house from different perspectives but there still has to be a house in order to have perspective of the house. This could actually help us determine truth. Assuming that everything is a point of view on the truth then eliminating all points of view should, theoretically, leave us w the truth. ~ Trabue Gentry

Where Are We, Really?

Where are we, really?

We all take for granted that we exist in the midst of our experience; that we are experiencing everything from within the confines of our bodies; that we reside in our bodies. This may not necessarily be the case and there really is no reason to think otherwise. Our bodies may actually be drones and we may be experiencing everything remotely. In other words, our bodies may be in one place but we may be completely somewhere else in the universe, an alternate universe or even another dimension.  This could easily be compared to the the U.S. Martian probe "Curiosity" which allows us to "experience" Mars from the comfort and  safety of Earth. In a sense we may function similarly to the Avatars depicted in the movie Avatar. ~ Trabue Gentry

A Journey Measured In Feet

I started taking pictures of my feet in bed wherever I laid my body to rest on our way to Virginia. I thought it would be kind of interesting and fun. I had no idea what a tale would really be told. On December 20, 2014 Amanda's father passed away. This necessitated us to move from one place to another and we have been doing so ever since, on average of about once a month. Everyone wants to travel and here we are traveling all over the United States staying mostly w the beautiful people we have met on Facebook. In our travels we have seen things most people only dream of. We have walked the Jersey shore and the teaming streets of Manhattan. We have basked in the shade of the Sears Tower in Chicago and stood in awe at the glistering waterfront of St. Louis at night. Just recently we shared a Starbucks coffee in beautiful downtown Fort Worth. We have no idea what adventure awaits us next, "Song Yet To Be Sung" Perry Farrell. ~ Trabue
