the young orca was captured placed into captivity

Not an aquarium ( thank gods ) but it was still very bad for them. Mers are an incredibly rare sight and even harder to catch so when Poppy was caught they immediately were poked and prodded at, studied. They hated it, trapped for years.

of course as shown and implied they managed to get out and back to the sea at some point- how? ( tbh I had multiple ideas for this but for logics sake- ) Crashed during a transfer. Vehicle was full of an incredibly potent sleeping gas

Maybe it's too late to recommend but I will say it anyways, there are a few ways to "beat" art block.

One of them is to go back to an old sketch/idea for a drawing, remake it or continue it, and finish the piece
