a/n: homophobic parents suck :( like be supportive of your kid grr >:( but i hope you like it! i’m not nonbinary myself, but i do have a close nonbinary friend and am trans, so i have a similar experience!! you didn’t specify what you wanted, so i did a lil drabble kinda thing (literally idk the difference between drabbles, fanfics, oneshots and whatever else so someone please explain it to my dumbass please and thank you🙇)

It was a good day so far, you had barely any dysphoric moments (while they still happened your friends mostly distracted you), until now. You had just found out that for the weekend, everyone would go back to their houses to spend it with their families. The entirety of your class had gone, except you. You didn’t want to go back. Back to the yelling, back to the dysphoria, back to your godforsaken family who just had to be homophobic. Back to that godforsaken house that you constantly got misgendered in.

You sigh, sitting in your room as you found yourself bored. You would normally be hanging out with your friends, but you were alone. Thoughts began to spiral, and you shook your head as if it would stop them. Getting up, you left the dorms to clear your head. You mindlessly walked for what felt like hours, but in reality it was about ten minutes.

You got out of your trance, only to realize you had walked to the teacher dorms. You shake your head, beginning to walk away, when you hear the door open. You freeze, as you hear your teachers monotone voice speak, “Y/N, is that you? What are you doing here?”

Your heart dropped, not knowing what to say. You turned, trying to think of a response, as your teacher stared at you. “You’re supposed to be home right now. Everyone else is.” He asks, not nearly knowing the weight of the question.

“I don’t want to go home.” You say it quietly, so quietly you can barely hear yourself over the pounding of your heart, which you thought would burst from your chest any minute now. But he heard.

“Why? Do they… hurt you at all?” He asked, genuine concern laced in his normally dry voice. You were quick to dismiss it. “Nono! That’s not it at all! It’s just… well…” You didn’t know how to say it. “They- I… We-” You paused. “They’re… homophobic. I just don’t want to be misgendered, and… and the dysphoria…” Your voice cracked, tears rolling down your cheeks. When did that happen?

You tried to stop, but they just kept coming. You had all this built up over years and years of having to hide yourself, you couldn’t stop. You felt a warm embrace, Aizawa hugging you gently but firmly. “It’s okay, Y/N. You’re ok.” Aizawa tried to think of things to say or do, but he couldn’t. Until, an idea popped into his head.

He pulled back, smiling at you. “Be right back.” He went into the dorm building, and after a while, he came out, holding a box. He handed it to you, and you opened it. Inside, you saw… a Nonbinary flag. You took it out and stared at it, before noticing another thing inside the box. You grabbed it, and you nearly broke into tears.

It was a binder.

You smiled, looking at Aizawa. “How did you know I needed one of these?” You asked. “Well, I noticed you seemed a lot more reserved, and sad ever since we mentioned going home for the weekend. I don’t know much about being Nonbinary, but I asked Sero, Denki, and Mina. They mentioned you had wanted a binder and a flag, but your parents might find out.” He said, as you stared in disbelief.

You hugged Aizawa, tears staining his shirt. But they were happy tears now. Aizawa hugged you back, as you realized that he cared about and accepted you.
