in writing what is now the finalized version of jordan's backstory elliot's last words to her are branding her a victim and saying that's all she's ever been or ever will be and when jordan drives that knife through his heart her last words to him are 'i'm not your fucking victim' in that moment she's reclaiming her story because for so long she's been running and hiding and trying to forget but in that moment she's done she's confronting her trauma and her demons head on she's taking control of her narrative and she's rejecting victimhood because she isn't a victim she refuses to continue to be victimized by a shitty abusive person who blames her for his shitty and terrible choices she doesn't accept responsibility for his actions and she refuses to accept his narrative that she's playing the victim when that's not it it's all about reclaiming her story and herself as a survivor she's the one in control of her story and her image and she's not letting anyone ever decide that for her again

jordan  being  in  a  jukebox  musical  where  the  usage  of  each  song  is  ( per  tradition )  out  of  place  but  is  intentionally  used  to  shift  the  plot  to  a  new  tone,  throwing  the  characters  into  confusion
