Dimstar turns around to the sound “Somepony help him and get the little ones, I’m going to get the big one up top!” He starts to rush up to the top while cloaking himself

Without hesitating Roland turns, whipping out his machete from it’s sheath and charging at the creature atop Obsidian. With a thud he knocks the creature off, sending it rolling as he steadies himself, offering a hoof to Obsidian. “Upsy daisy mate.” he murmurs as he helps the kirin off the ground before turning to face the creatures, drawing his handgun as he turns. “Any idea what they are?” he asks, firing a shot into the air after, hoping to scare them off.

“WOAH WOAH WOAH” the zony jumps up, extremely startled “what the buck are those things?” she says slowly walking toward her saddlebag, her only source of defense and eyes the creatures, not minding the ponies around her much. She was no-good in a physical fight so she hopes her teammates do not do anything rash to upset the creatures before we know what we’re dealing with.

“Thanks.” Obsidian replies “They’re nothing more than scavengers, little more dangerous than jackals unless they have an alpha leading them.”

Coldflame hisses out  ”Shit shit shit, i tell you Obsi…” He runs to where he set his sword and grabs it.

The chittering comes from deep in the bushes as the maker of the sounds observes the group with careful precision. Their love so succulent to feed on from this distance, coupled with the fact that she hasn’t eaten in so long drives her to draw ever so closer to the group.

The smaller ones around the edge leap forward with a snap and then back up a pace with a snarl. They’re either trying to intimidate the group or herd them together.

Obsidian takes a deep breath and snorts a bit of flame, and this makes them take a step back.

The large one on the rock above leaps down to attack the zony, not seeing the pegasus flying up. Over in the bushes a toothy maw clamps down on the hind leg of the chittering thing that was too distracted with the ponies.
