YOOOOOOOO LETS GOOOOO
Sorry to bother you but do you have any tips for drawing exos i love trying to draw cayde but exos are complicated
Hey, anon! Tbh I don't think I'm the right person to give advices on drawing Exos, since I mostly struggle with them myself OTL But I'm happy to share some things I've noticed while drawing them and watching references.
First off, here are some nice tips from other artists I saw: [1] [2]
I think Exos aren't that bad to draw once you manage to break them down to simple shapes. Kinda like this:

4 pointy blobs don't seem that scary already; once you get them right, you can just add as much details as you want. But to get them right, you need to get their proportions right and, luckily for us, Exos aren't that different from humans. Basic rules of halves and thirds apply to Exos' faces as well, but with some notable differences.
Let's take my fav Hunter ship duo and see how many 'classic' human proportions can be applied to an Exo.

1. The eye line bisects the head - yes, 100% true for both.
2. Face is divided into three equal parts - kinda true, but with one huge difference. Exos don't have noses, so they already have a mouth where normally the base of the nose is. This single fact pretty much wrecks all other rules, tbh, nose is SO important in facial measurements!..
3. Mouth goes through the upper third mark of the last 1/3 of the face - nope, due to the lack of nose Exos usually have their mouth line higher than that.
4. The space between the eyes is approximately the width of an eye - uh, not really. For most Exos I saw that eye gap is slightly wider than the eye itself (by the eye I mean the eyeball width). It may be hard to notice though, since Exos don't really have eyelids. Their, uh, eyeball sockets seem to be more or less the same for all, but face plates on top of it, forming "eyelids" and "eyebrows", come in all shapes and sizes.
5. The edges of the nostrils line up with the tear ducts of the eyes - not at all for obvious reasons. Actually for Exos those inner corners of the eyes (not sure if they can be called tear ducts) line up with the corners of the mouth.
6. The corners of the mouth line up with the pupils of the eyes - not true, as we've already seen. The pupils of the eyes line up with the chin width instead.
So, after getting those basic shapes right, you can add some details and distinguishing features:

Yay, now they look more recognizable!
Obviously, it works for any angle, just keep in mind perspective distortions while making your measurements.

It's also important to remember that while these proportions will often be accurate and can make your life much easier, human (and Exo) faces have too much diversity to accept any proportion as an absolute rule! So it's always important to study closely the character you want to draw and the proportions they in particular have. Or play a bit with these rules if you're designing somebody yourself.
So yeah, that's all I have to say for today and please excuse my messy sketches 😅

Haha hey guys I am alive and cooking
