here im showing how the sequencer appears, and showing this scene.
each object that gets transformed, as well as the fade effects, sound, and the level visibility, has its own bar that contains keyframes.
sub-levels within a level can be made visible and invisible, as shown by the red and green bars. this is necessary to avoid lighting issues and greater performance - the sub-levels will stop rendering.

the animation graphs to show the transformations of the bones in the giantess model during her ‘blinking and eating’ animation. i didnt take screenshots during the actual process, but it consisted of clicking on a bone in the skeleton tree on the left of the screen, and transforming that bone using the viewport tools, the same as transforming an object in a level.
this animation is 112 frames long, which through a VR headset, is less than one second, however in the details tab, the ‘rate scale’ can change the rate at which the animation plays back in-game, so i changed it to 0.5.

the turquoise line shows the path of the actor movement object around all the levels, that a VR pawn is attached to.

the script recorded in audacity.
i had originally planned for friends to perform some voice acting, but while i was able to direct sufficiently, i felt there was always something missing from other peoples performances of my words. it was also difficult to schedule sessions for recording the way that i would want.
although i felt uncomfortable about using my own voice so much, i felt that it reconnected everything to me and i was able to really consider the meaning i was giving the words.
the dialogue was split up into small sections and edited separately depending on the ‘character’ the voice represented. the narrator had a distinct tone, with lots of reverb to seem otherworldly, but sounded quite venomous. the rock voices were more godly and earnest. the goblin voices were each unique. the giantess’ voice was extremely similar to my own voice, just slightly lower to give a bit more depth to the sound.
ive been thinking about what this story means to me, seeing as it was first created from my poetry and research into trauma/art based on trauma - things that are personal to me.
in my last work i took some inspiration from asmr and guided meditation, things that i am interested in, and can be used as a form of treatment for trauma, ptsd, as well as other mental health problems. i dont like to make work about anything too personal, but my ideas were influenced a lot by the way the internet changes the way humans can collectively experience phenomena, especially trauma. the world that the work is based in, is a pocket of reality created from trauma, in a universe in which actual experience can be 'hacked' through the virtual. the boundaries between the 2 spaces has dissolved. i love the language these types of media use, and the pacing and tone of the speech. i feel like its subliminal and can communicate directly to an audience - offering guidance. i want to use this kind of idea in my work, to give the words more of a sense of meaning and desire to 'get through' to people.
therefore, i want to understand what it is i want to achieve through this work. i would love to offer more interaction, and affect the story through players choices, but i felt that the controllers would be practically out of use for most of the experience, and that doesnt seem very coherent. the player might feel too disconnected to really want to consider a choice, or want to have agency throughout the whole work. id have to learn more about how to balance story and interaction. and so i have to imagine one ending that makes an impact on the story, and maybe the player, and can also feel natural. i want the work to be surreal and non-linear, so i feel a lot of story direction happens in the words and i can rely less on it feeling totally 'natural'. as long as i can call-forward to information then that would make it clear. this also means the story can be cyclical, coming back to the beginning of the work in a new way.
in review of all this, i think i want to communicate a desire to heal.
