for me it’s the way that joel openly admits to ellie that he tried to kill himself because sarah died. this is the same gruff closed off man who, not that long ago, didn’t even want to hear sarah’s name. or tess’s. who called ellie cargo.

but he opens up to ellie, tells her that he tried to commit suicide because he just “couldn’t see the point anymore.” he has been hurting and holding this pain inside of him for 20 YEARS, and “it wasn’t time” that helped put him on the path to healing. it was ellie. he found purpose in being a father again.

and at most a few hours after admitting that, he is faced with the death of his daughter. Again. marlene just tells him that ellie is going to die with no goodbye and hands him her knife. the knife that belonged to anna, the only piece that ellie had of her mom. the only piece joel will have left of ellie. and we know that if he loses ellie, he won’t make it! he won’t flinch this time. he won’t miss. he will succeed in ending his life this time because if he loses ellie that’s it for him.

so he makes a choice. the fireflies didn’t tell ellie that the operation would kill her, they didn’t give her a choice. joel isn’t giving ellie a choice either, in this moment, because for him there is not other option. joel sees the sign for the pediatric surgery wing and the decision is made.

and when he kills his way through the hospital, he doesn’t miss. he wasn’t quick enough for sarah, for tess, for henry or sam. couldn’t even shoot himself properly. but for ellie, he won’t miss. because there was one person worth saving. and god help any motherfuckers who stand in his way.

So excited!

Bad news: The TLOU fandom has a bad case of people-fighting-and-ruining-the-fun.

Good news: Tomorrow is TLOU Fandom Community Day! I'd love for mutuals and fellow fans to join me in celebrating the positive aspects of this fandom.

Like last time, I'll have a surprise for everyone at the end. This surprise is a big one. I've been working on it for over a week with the help of some wonderful friends. ❤️

So many people have died. So many people are suffering and grieving and starving. So many people depend on the governments of the world, especially the US, who are too busy making shitty half-assed attempts at saving face while still sending weapons that will kill more and more Palestinians.

People are urging the government to do something, but they haven’t, and it can be really disheartening to see that despite the protests and the campaigns, no one is listening!

But that doesn’t mean we can’t still help. I’d like to thank some of the celebrities who have actually spoken up and done more than wear, as SNL would say, a ‘teeny tiny statement pin’, and used their platform to actually aid those who are suffering in Palestine.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey have asked people to donate and have had links in their bios to donate to Gaza since last year, and Pedro posted a ‘Ceasefire Now’ message on Christmas. Recently they have both once again posted about Palestine (mentioned in the above post) (I love them both sm)

Renee Rap used her speech at the GLAAD awards to tell people to donate and speak out, especially the very wealthy and powerful people in the room with her.

Rami Youssef has spoken out for a ceasefire in many ways, including in his SNL monologue.

Rachel Zegler urged people to donate and help make the US government to put a stop to the bombings.

John Oliver (the legend himself) did a whole ‘Last Week Tonight’ episode on Palestine, and ended it with a passionate plea for a ceasefire, and has talked about it many times since.

(These are only including celebrities who I know, but there are many, many more)

There are many more who have spoken out, and many more who will, but I’d like to thank these people for using their platforms for good.

thank you sm for the lovely and supportive comments on my last post. <3 i said i needed a few more days to come back and that is true, i still do need a bit more time.

besides my mental health, seeing what has been happening in palestine the last few days has really been weighing heavily on my mind and heart.

that picture, and i’m sure you know what picture i’m talking about, is burned into my memory forever. people are being slaughtered in tents. there is nowhere to go, no safe space to run to. just when i think it can’t get any more horrifying, it does. the world is watching and allowing this genocide to continue.

this platform is bigger than any of my social media accounts. comparing my followers here to my mere 100 something followers on instagram and 5 followers on tik tok, my blog is certainly my biggest platform. i may not get a ton of engagement, but i’m sure there are at least a few pairs of eyes on me and my blog. i’m currently trying to look for a post with links to resources to help and pin it to the top of my page in hopes that those few eyes will see it and signal boost. i know some mutuals who have resources pinned to their page or linked in their bio, so i may look to them to find a post to pin.

there is very little to no internet access in rafah. i’ve seen some reports as of a couple hours ago that there is none at all.

as they’re losing internet access, it’s imperative that we keep talking about palestine.

i’m proud of pedro and bella for using their platforms today. i’m proud of macklemore and hozier talking about palestine at their concerts. i’m proud of nicola coughlan for wearing and talking about her ceasefire pin throughout the bridgerton press tour. nicola, who has been one of the loudest celebrity voices, is truly setting the example.

don’t stop taking about palestine.

celebrity or not, we are their voices right now.

Maybe the real hospital massacres were the daughters we met along the way?

I love how Joel is Transformed By Love but he just becomes worse. Literally every other character becomes a good person when they befriend a quirky orphan but no he’s the same guy it just unlocked his inner potential to massacre hospitals
