We can thank a single line of dialogue from Masters EX for this moment: I was looking for inspo in his quotes when I happened on one where he offers to escort the player to their destination. From that & other things he’d say, I’ve concluded that Ingo is a bit of a mother hen - he’s the guy to walk little old ladies across the street, zero in on a child’s crying, has a first aid kit in his pocket, etc. Call it older sibling instinct (I have it too lol).

This is how I see his friendship with Ansy - starting off as walking her around Nimbasa City, then just going on walks together where they’d talk about stuff. Then if they get caught in the rain, Ansy has an umbrella if he doesn’t. 🌧️ 

Speaking of which, in case you don’t know or haven’t watched enough anime lol, she was telling Emmet that where she’s from (Kanto), sharing an umbrella can mean they’re dating (no worries, he has his own umbrella off-screen, a Tynamo one like Ingo’s Lampent umbrella).

PS: Emmet’s friendship with Ansy is basically just one long game of teasing the other - started off with him trying to make her smile as always, then she surprised him by teasing back. The rest is history. 🤭

rainy camp in galar

Sometimes I log into my save on Sword just to camp out with my rainy babies 8u8 I wish all modern Pokémon games had camping - they tried to do something similar with picnics in Scarlet, but it’s just not as fun for me. 🏕️🌧️

if you’re curious about the team, we have Rain (Vaporeon) & Skye (Altaria), of course - then there’s Candyfloss (Whimsicott), Cirrus (Cinccino), Tadpole (Quagsire), & Darjeeling (Antique Polteageist). 🩵

PS: I was chatting with someone about the eventual Unova remakes (though I actually think getting another sequel to make a Black / White trilogy would be very cool, too!), & daydreamed what if they decided to put in something like camping! Obviously, I’d be JAZZED✨ I feel like pizza would be a great camp food, too. It’s a staple food of NY, & it’s very customizable - you can even put Pinap berries on it if you want lol 🍕🍍

DxP REWRITE - Sensible Tsundere

RPG protagonist rules aside, it WAS kind of a risk lol. 

Sasmu is more of a tsundere than Ikrit, but it does seem she feels some obligation to look after Mizumi as her friend, much like how he does Ansy. As the mister said, “It runs in the family”. 🤭

(Casual reminder that the last time Ingo saw Ansy, she looked like she did in the Prologue)

They say smell can be very connected to our memories, as those parts of the brain are next-door neighbors. For me, back when I didn’t want to remember most things going on in my life, I had a weak sense of smell - as things got better for me, I noticed my sense of smell improved (for better or worse lol).

At this point, Ingo had known Ansy since she was Mizumi’s age (minus the 7 years he was in Hisui), & unsurprisingly, he associates her with that “fresh rain smell” Mizumi encountered in the mists around Crystal Pool. 🌧️
