pulling him to sit beside you, you pressed his hand down to the table as you carefully painted the first coat on his nails. clearly excited by the entire experience, he began waving his hands around as he talked to you.

"yuto! don't touch anything, you could mess it up, and I have to paint another coat!"

a slight pout upon his lips, he reluctantly keeps his hands on the table, fingers splayed comically. his smile didn't leave his face as you painted the second coat on. he almost seemed enamoured, fascinated by the whole process.

a couple days later, you were sitting in the kitchen, enjoying the notes floating into the room from the living room where yuto was playing guitar. as the song trailed off, you heard a wail of despair. raising an eyebrow, you waited for yuto to come to you.

he didn't disappoint, his large form entering the kitchen. his hand was held in front of you, his face frowning.

"y/n! look, my nail polish chipped!"

holding his hand in yours, you smiled gently, tipping your head back to look at him.

"yuto, it's fine, I can just repaint it."

his eyes widened as he looked back down at it. he sighs in relief before grinning at you.

"can we go fix it now?"

you do as he asks, letting him go with a warning to be more careful if he wants it to last longer. he nods, heading back into the living room. the song is softer, more gently played. after it ends, the house is silent for a moment before you hear a sheepish call of your name.
