but i think one thing american schools ( not sure if other school systems did this, feel free to add ), specifically elementary schools did nicely, was how valentine’s day was done

there wasn’t just one person you’d bring something for; everyone would bring in little cards with cheesy lines and candy for their friends, classmates, teachers

and they could all say ‘i love you’ if you really wanted, because love just didn’t have to be this huge romantic dedication

sometimes you could just love your desk mate who shares their crayons with you in the most wholesome way a first grader could muster

or your favorite music teacher who’s class you always looked forward to

and it was never mandatory, either, just an optional little thing if you wanted to show people how you care
