Kalim isn’t faking being a happy person however he does show signs of heavily dismissing and pushing down his own feelings. He’s genuinely full of strong emotions but he doesn’t let the negative ones show. He probably is scared and afraid and upset and sad and angry and frustrated and destroyed but what’s the point of him complaining? It’s not like he’s going to complain to people who have “bigger” problems. He says that others being happy makes him happy and the probably goes the same for sadness. Kalim cheers up everyone but no one does that for him because they don’t think he needs to be cheered up.
Also yes ofc he treats things as less of a big deal than they are because could you imagine if he did? Could you imagine if he processed and carried the full weight of every betrayal, poisoning and kidnapping?
Remember Kalim lives like there’s no tomorrow because there might not be one for him
So I watched the Barbie movie yesterday,,, I feel like the light music club would see it together~
Jamil has definitely told Kalim to hold his hand sometimes so he “doesn’t get lost” but also if anyone else does it it’s “not appropriate for Kalim as an heir to be seen holding hands with random people” or some shit
I like to imagine that in an au where Meleanor lives and Lilia somehow still gets custody of Silver, like Malleus she is also initially disgusted by Silver before growing extremely attached to him because the "you love me, so you'll love my child" thing goes both ways.
A few hcs that I had while I brainrotted about this in Discord dms:
-Meleanor, like her son, is very fascinated by Silver's fast development.
-She is an easily impressed aunt/godmother and would heap SO MUCH praise on Silver for the littlest things. (and immediately turn around and strike Lilia with lightning for interrupting her)
-Lilia, on the phone(?): "Silver just said his first words!"
Meleanor, appearing in a burst of fire: "HOLY SHIT!!!"
-Sort of reflecting fae in folklore, she loves to kidnap take Silver back to the castle with her for "play dates" with Malleus, who will complain about it as he so very gently plays with the fragile infant his mother had trusted him with (he is a tsundere big brother)
-Revan always sighs every time he catches Silver in the castle because he KNOWS his wife didn't tell Lilia she took him, but he isn't unhappy to see him. Will include Silver in Malleus's tutoring sessions even though Malleus's curriculum is much too advanced for the average human, let alone a baby.
-Growing up, Silver calls Meleanor "Mother" because he hears Malleus call her that all the time. When he grows out of it and starts calling her "Lady Meleanor/Meleanor-sama", she sulks about it a bit.
Ok so considering what we just saw in book 7, I have come to a realisation
Silver doesn’t have a last name because he never felt like he belonged
Silver since the beginning was one of the only two important characters without a last name, the other being grim, but I don’t think that necessarily count, so it always struck me as weird that he wouldn’t have a last name considering we know who his dad is, Lilia, and he has a last name, so why wouldn’t Silver share his last name? Hell, Rollo got a last name and he’s only there for a single event, other characters that don’t have a last name are the dwarves and they appeared for so little that it doesn’t matter, and event characters also may not get last names, and if Chenya and Neige can get a last name, why can’t Silver?
Now that book 7 is releasing and we saw what happened, that he didn’t feel like a part of his own family, that he never understood why a high ranking fae general like Lilia would take him in, and now discovering he’s the son of the knight of dawn? That just dug it in on how he didn’t belong with Lilia, Malleus, or Sebek, he always felt alienated from them and now even more so
Where am I going with this? Well, it’s my prediction by the end of book 7, Silver will officially become a Vanrouge, he’ll realise that his family truely doesn’t care that he’s a human, or that he’s the son of their former enemy, and he’ll finally come to terms with all his insecurities and thoughts, I think(and I hope) that this’ll be done by Lilia risking his life one way or another to save him, whether while they’re still in the dream or in real life, Silver will see that his father, even after finding out he’s the son of his enemy, risked his life to save him, and he’ll come to the realisation that he’s always belonged
Or you know, they could simply not do that, which honestly will be a great loss of a great plot line with an ending that’ll already happen, book 7 is shaping up to be not just about Malleus, but about the Diasomnia gang as a whole, it’s about how they’re a family and that despite their differences, they’ll always be a family, so it’ll be a shame if Silver doesn’t declare that he’s a Vanrouge somewhere in there
so I ended up listening to annapantsu (on YouTube) covers of Prince Ali and Arabian Nights, and this idea came to be in my head of an au where somehow Kalim after the events of Scarabi arc tries to make things better and ends up finding a book in the library that can alter reality in a way (don't ask how) and Kalim thinking it can fix or at least help with things between him and Jamil, uses it and it ends up turning time to a week after or around Azul's overblot but something is different in the Scarabia dorm Kalim and Jamil switch roles, Jamil now the housewarden of Scarabia and coming from a Royal family weil Kalim is the Vice-Hausewarden of Scarabia and Jamils "Servant". (Jamil and Kalim have more of Princ Ali and Genei type of relationship instead of the Sulten and Jafar)
And Nobody realizes till a week later when Yuu and Grim start feeling like they have done this before and so that story arc begins.#
Woulf Kalim overblot in this au...yes. would it be because of trauma...kinda of The reasoning would be more because of him overusing his magic, like to make sure the spell is working he must have his magic activated at all time
Genuinely wondering if Silver’s issues stem from being under that spell for so long. Like there’s no way being asleep for 400 years doesn’t have some sort of effect on his body
Ok, but can we talk about how LOVED Silver is?
Aside from Lillia managing to wake him up from his 400 year old nap, if we consider that all of his sleep attacks stem from the curse, and , therefore, have the same requirements to be broken...
Then that means that everyone that has ever woken Silver up from a sleep attack, be it during events, vignettes and the like, loves him enough to be able to break the curse.
Sebek, Malleus, Kalim, Jade, Idia, the teachers and many more. Everyone cares enough about Silver to be able to lift the curse. All through familial or platonic love (friendship, basically, we can think about ships, but that's not the case right now).
Which makes sense, he is probably the nicest student on campus, probably even ranking higher than Kalim due to his calm nature. It's easy to become his friend and worry about his well being.
Just Silver saying he is unworthy of love when the entire campus can constantly break his curse, that requires true love, with no problem.
I like how a good chunk of people were onboard for Crowley being Malleus's father but now that the new chapter is out and its pointed out that Lilia was also in love with Leverne people are like "no absolutely not Crowley could pull one bad bitch maybe but two???? Unimaginable"

sorry i'm not done but how can you just drop this bombshell that malleus literally used to hate humans, that he'd refer to silver as "that thing" , that he thought lilia should've just dropped off the baby with some humans and move on with his life!!
and yet!! it was malleus who ordered the castle to have baby food delieverd to lilia's place for him, and it was malleus who'd sneak out whenever he could to come see silver and make sure lilia was taking care of him okay. and it was malleus who was so, so gentle teaching silver and sebek magic where lilia was so very crude
and after 17 years of malleus quietly loving him in his own modest way, it was ultimately the boy's tears - that thing's tears - that drove him to stop time and freeze the world over

talking about sun/moon aesthetics with silver and his changing hair thanks to lilia's blessing and i just.
he is lilia's sun and moon, the guiding lights and steadying forces of the universe, the rise and fall of the day. silver loves him the way the sun loves the earth and the flowers and the trees, an unconditional constant. silver loves him the way the moon aches for the tides, constantly pulling them back home.
Malleus & Silver idol au thats been sitting in my brain for a while. They have a running devil and angel sibling theme going on. Malleus has more of an ero rock style with lots of leather and hardware while silver is softer with lots of silk and ribbons.
I think they'd be pretty popular. Malleus being the lead singer and silver doing a lot of the dancing haha

I feel like Ace would be great at rubik cubes and those metal puzzle things. His hands can't stay still, so Yuu would give those to him so that he won't touch and do something he might regret.
They look away for literally. Three. Seconds. And this redheaded card had literally solved them all.
It'd be like that scene in Wall-E where EVE solves that rubik cube.
So now the rest of the first years tries to time how long it takes for Ace to solve each cube.
Riddle catches Sebek coming out of Sam's shop with a 5x5 cube and puzzle boxes. He asks what is he doing with that and Sebek said that it's to see how long Ace can solve it. Riddle, of course, doesn't believe that Ace can solve it. So he went to Ramshackle with Sebek (also helping him carry some of the puzzles) to see.
Riddle tries to compete with Ace with a standard 3x3 cube. Riddle completes it in about 30 minutes while Ace completes it in less than 5.
So yeah, sometimes the students in Ramshackle's friend group (the entirety of the playable characters in TWST) compete to see who can solve puzzles the fastest.
It becomes a weekly event, and a good hangout activity.
Okay, so I have been having this au idea that's been coming back to me for almost a week, and I just have to talk about it. It's a "what if(?)" au/scenario about Ace being entirely based on Alice.
But Back to ace in this au,

Family: Mother, Father, Older brother
Ace is a first-year student at RSA and in the Alice/White Queen Dorm.
He tends to mention strange things like how he saw some singing flowers the other day or his craving to take a bite out of a bread-and-butter-fly. There are also times were he starts acting very childish like an actual 6-7-year-old.
At least half of Ace's upper classmates have been at minimum teased and at maximum bullied by him
Ace is a member of the Debate Team (not officially)
Backstory:
When Ace was a young boy, he and his brother were playing hide and seek in the big maze near their house, Ace ended up leaving the maze while following a white rabbit which led to a forest where he fell into a hole. He slowly started to Hallucinate of an "Adventure". Thankfully, the authorities found him a few days later and he was sent to a hospital.
However, His Hallucinations didn't Stop, and he began telling his brother stories about funny creatures he had met during his “adventure” which worried his brother a lot.
Other info(?):
Ace often takes afternoon naps to “meet his friends”. It became a rule after Riddles Overblot to never wake him up after a few incidents of students Waking him up during his naps.
Ace knows random information, and he will share it at the most random times like during Riddles overblot he started talking about tarts and desserts.
