i'm so tired i slept about seven times today PLEASE I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT TO FOLLOW YOU BACK I'M SORRY

YOU’RE GOOD BABE <333 you go by vae right? it would be embarrassing to put the wrong name in my moots list aaa, also is it okay if i call you babe, i call everyone that out of habit so if you’re uncomfy with it, do tell!!

the first para in your response to my ask is literally exactly how i feel so good to know i’m not alone ⊂(´• ω •`⊂) i’ve read several timestamps of different members but two that i can remember is your juyeon fic, the “especially yours” and the “make it fake” smau !!! i actually do not prefer reading smaus just because i’d rather read chunks of paragraphs than visual text messages but gahdayum, that smau of yours has me hooked for sure 🗣🗣

i have no idea why i haven’t asked to be in your permanent taglist but since we’re on that note, pls add me 🙇🏻‍♀️ to many more interactions with you, mwah (๑>ᴗ<๑)

“STRIKE ELEVEN.” SIYEON ANNOUNCES, EFFECTIVELY BREAKING YOUR CONCENTRATION.

you look away from your homework to figure out what she’s talking about. let’s see: six of your underclassmen are huddled together, the school council president slash your three and half years crush is being prodded by his friends, and there’s a girl crying a little too loudly to not be noticed.

ah yes, the light bulb has finally ignited.

“poor dawon.” you sympathize before returning your focus to your friends, only to be met by a pair of knowing looks. “what?”

siyeon arches her brow, “do you actually pity her for being rejected?”

“or are you relieved because you have a shot at confessing to the lee sangyeon?” handong finishes her thought.

“have i ever told you how much you two creep me out?”

the eldest of the two chuckles and sarcastically remarks, “plenty of times.”

you roll your eyes and pick up your pen, easing back into answering your homework. chemistry wasn’t your strongest area so full attention was required. at least, that’s what you say so you can evade the repetitive conversation.

City Of Ours | J.changmin

settling down on the small couch overlooking the city scape, you occasionally took small sips of your warm drink. the wind caressing your cheeks only made you snuggle even further into the blanket huddled over you. the december weather was beginning to drop in temperature, preparing you for winter. the cars speeding by on the streets below ensured a comfortable atmosphere but just for extra relaxation, you had put on your favourite song on the portable speaker beside you.

you had no idea why you decided to sit on the balcony but you felt like it was needed. your colleagues at work hadn’t been that much of a supporting group of people, instead, adding on to the stress that had been building up on your shoulders which resulted in a huge migraine by the end of the week.

from your apartment, you could see the multiple christmas trees scattered around the area from the bright twinkling lights strewn around them. the sights calms you down a little since it gave you a reminder of the break that both you and changmin would be getting. this short break meant everything for you because it finally gave you guys time to spend with one another.

indulging yourself in the scenic view, you suddenly took note of the slight movement you saw from the reflection of the glass railings on the balcony. as soon as you could make out the person approaching you from behind, you broke into a smile, the butterflies in your stomach awakening. you swore you felt the hairs on your arms stand when you saw him returning a cute, lazy smile. even his outfit was screaming boyfriend material.

when he reached your little snuggly space, he wrapped his arms around your neck from behind, peppering your cheek with kisses. you couldn’t help but to nuzzle into him, the warmth of his embrace washing away all your worries in the world. the dumb smile plastered on your face said everything, you were head over heels for him.

pushing up the specs that had rested themselves on his nose, he gladly accepted the seat you offered beside you. “i miss you,” he said, stroking your hand for comfort. you turned to him, mustering up a sad smile, “i know, my changmin, but look at the brighter side, it’s christmas soon, hm?” he only hummed in response and so, you pulled him close, resting your head on his and caressed his back, giving solace.

“oh wow, look at that star,” you were in awe as you started pointing up at it, alerting changmin. he straightened his back up and slided an arm around your shoulder, holding you tightly in his arms as the two of you started to realise that the night sky was packed with a few constellations and many stars, a rare sight to see due to the pollution in the city.

you guys just took a moment to stare at the starry night sky, a peaceful silence engulfing the situation. the roads had begun to quieten down and the hustle bustle of the city died down, leaving the night in stillness. “hey, do you know the name of that constellation?” you asked, gesturing to the one shaped somewhat like the letter ‘k’.

unbeknownst to you, changmin had zero intentions of watching the night sky, his attention instead turned to you. he couldn’t help but to lovingly gaze at you whilst you were so intrigued by the sight. so when you suddenly asked him something, he was caught off-guard. “uh, that one is called.. the.. ‘erethizon’,” he stumbled over his own words, hoping you believed him even just a little.

you immediately started to laugh to yourself, doubling over when you heard his words. “are you serious? erethizon?” you forced out, taking deep breaths in between your unstoppable laughter. “ah, why!” he whined at your reaction. “babe, erethizon is literally a species of porcupine,” you grinned, cupping your hand over your mouth. “s-shut up! i didn’t know what it was, i wanted to sound smart,” he grumbled, sulking to himself, “how do you even know that!” “okay, okay, sorry,” you apologised, swinging your arms around his middle, still laughing into his chest.

you managed to calm both you and changmin down since he too started laughing at the absurdity of the situation. looking up at him from your position, he was already glancing at you like you were his world. “what?” you questioned. “nothing, my y/n,” he said, kissing the tip of your nose. “i wish we could spend more time with each other like this.”

changmin was right, you guys barely had time to see each other with such busy schedules so even the smallest actions and littlest time you spent together mattered.

in the end, you are his world. and he is yours. no one could compare.

“in this city of ours, i just wanna hold you tight.”

Yellow Carnations | J.changmin

“welcome!” a very familiar voice called out to you as you entered the quaint flower shop, the bell chiming above you. “oh, hey y/n,” changmin said as he saw who came into his parents’ shop. to be frank, he wasn’t surprised to see you here as you seem to be here every other day for god knows what reason but he just assumed you found comfort in the floral scent.

“hi, changmin. i’ll be at the café stand first,” you waved then pointing to the makeshift drink stand the flower shop had by the corner. he nodded and you took the cue to leave. while the reason you kept coming here was somewhat true, let’s face it, the bigger reason why you came was because of said boy.

changmin and his parents had moved to your city for the last three years and you still remember how you felt when you first saw him during your afternoon stroll. his blonde hair immediately caught your attention and you made it a mission to find out more about him.

˚◞♡   ⃗*ೃ༄

humming a tune under your breath, you weren’t too alert of your surroundings which lead to you crashing into a guy carrying several plastic bouquets. “woah! oh my, i’m so sorry,” you immediately got down to your knees and helped him pick up the dropped flowers when you regained your senses.

the flowers were absolutely beautiful and you had never seen them before. an exotic flower? “wow, these are so pretty! i’m sorry i dropped them..” you trailed, finally looking up at the taller male, immediately taken aback by his looks. “heh, it’s okay, it didn’t do too much damage,” he chuckled, gripping the bouquets tighter before continuing, “these are actually crocuses, they symbolise new beginnings.”

“ooh, how do you know so much?” you were intrigued to say the least, a boy pops up out of nowhere and is suddenly spitting out flower symbols? “well first, hi, i’m changmin. my parents and i just moved into the neighbourhood and we’re setting up our family flower shop just down this road,” he explained.

“that’s so cool! i’m y/n, i’ll be sure to come visit,” you smiled gently at the thought of meeting him more often. “yea, of course. i have to go now, see you around y/n,” he waved goodbye, a whiff of his perfume lingered in your nose as he walked past you.

oh boy, he has you wrapped around his finger for sure.

˚◞♡   ⃗*ೃ༄

here you were, sat at a small table, sipping your strawberry acai refresher as you watched changmin mingle with the customers and not hesitating to help them out whenever they needed it. you couldn’t help but allow a grin to form on your face, seeing his outgoing personality.

“y/n, if you’re in love with my son, just tell me, i’ll do the rest!” changmin’s mom came from the storage room, approaching you with a knowing look. “mrs ji, it’s not like that,” you played it off, a red hue basically forming on your cheeks. “yea, yea, denial is the first step,” she laughed at you before stirring her own mug of coffee.

the two of you continued your conversation when changmin finally came over when the store’s peak hour was over. “i’ll leave you guys to it,” his mom kinda threw you under the bus with that comment and that smirk on her face but changmin didn’t see it or pretended not to see it because he didn’t say anything.

“so, may i be of any assistance today, miss y/n?” he asked, jokingly. “hm, i think so, sir changmin! what’s a flower that represents admiration?” you played along, which was something he was definitely not expecting but he took in your words. “well, you could get either dianthuses or dahlias, both have several meanings but admiration is one of the more known reasons,” he placed his chin on his palm, pondering about his flower knowledge.

you simply nodded but his words caught you off-guard, “what do you need them for?” coughing slightly, you could only reply, “it’s for.. research! yeah! a uni project, mhm.” you didn’t think he was this gullible but he bought your reason and abruptly stood up. he reached behind the counter before he handed you a small A5 sized book, “floriography”.

when you flipped through it, you were surprised to see detailed illustrations of flowers and their symbols, “oh wow, what is this book?”

“i got it when i first started getting into this florist industry so i figured this would be really informative for your project, feel free to borrow it for as long as you’d like!” he beamed at you and your heart could only take so much. “a-are you sure? doesn’t this mean a lot to you?” you stuttered, not believing what changmin is doing for you. “i mean, yea but you need it more,” he sheepishly grinned and you only threw your arms around his shoulder. “thank you!”

you left the flower shop with a giddy feeling, book close to your chest as you hugged it. you did feel bad because first, this book means a lot to him and second, you didn’t even have a uni project. you simply had admiration for changmin. i mean, he was an amazing florist and he could’ve been doing what he enjoys but he instead took care of his family business, starting at a young age. you were head over heels for him.

you were scanning the pages when two flowers caught your eyes. ‘red tulips’ and ‘gladiolus’. red tulips meant passion and love, almost saying “my feelings are true” while gladiolus had the symbolism of infatuation and admiration. seeing these, you took it as the perfect time to send these to changmin.

it was a really bold step but you felt that you had kept this crush on him for the longest time already, the timing should be right. the worst that could happen was he would reject you and you will have to put up with that..

who are you kidding? your world would probably crash down and you’d die of embarrassment! your own thoughts made this so much harder to decide what to do. but, before you knew it, you were already placing a bouquet of red roses, tulips and gladiolus on the flower shop doorstep, an hour before the shop would start to operate.

you don’t know what came over you but you felt like you had to run away so you did. run away from these thoughts of uncertainty and insecurity. you prayed for him to return the feelings and you could only pace around the room, waiting for a reply.

several days had passed and you completely avoided the shop incase changmin would feel uncomfortable because he has yet to reply to you. even though you badly wanted to see him, you’d rather not make matters worse.

you were in your room, drawing flower sketches all over your notes when the doorbell rang. you begrudgingly stepped towards the front door and was met with a bouquet of yellow flowers. a card on the front had your name on it so you immediately brought it to your room.

you took a deep breath in before ripping the card apart from the staple. it read, “to: y/n, from: changmin”. wait, changmin? he gave you flowers? oh my god, he gave you flowers! today was a happy day and that was the only thing you could think of.

you hastily opened the card and he only wrote two words in there. “yellow carnations.”

hold on, these words were familiar to you. you’ve seen this in the book he gave you before. you were almost like a mad woman, flipping and scanning through every page until you found ‘yellow carnations’. you hoped for the best but the words written in the book only made you feel like digging a hole in the backyard for yourself.

“yellow carnations symbolise rejection and disdain.”

Ham Sandwiches

wc: 0.9k | p: steve harrington x gn!reader | g: fluff, bff2more | w: single steve sadge

It's a pleasant surprise to see Steve Harrington striding into the hardware store with a small, cautious smile, looking almost bashful when his eyes can't seem to meet yours.

"Greetings," You say, leaning forward behind the cashier counter and resting your jaw on your open palm. "Looking for anything?"

"Just a companion," Answers Steve, shrugging as he nonchalantly slides over the flat surface that you'd just wiped— you couldn't care less, anyway— and faces you. He holds up two squares covered in a thin layer of plastic foil, "I brought two sandwiches... by total accident, of course. Thought I'd come 'n give one to you and maybe while I'm here spend some time with you while I'm on my break, hm?"

"Robin wouldn't want it?" You cock a brow up at him, but take the sandwich he'd offered nonetheless. "Nah," The boy brushes off. "Apparently she doesn't like ham."

That's a lie. A big fat lie. Robin loves ham sandwiches, as a matter of fact, but Steve had brought two sandwiches deliberately to spend time with you. It's a win for the both of you, though, because he knows very well you barely have any time to buy a snack for yourself given that you're the only employee working next door to the Family Video Store.

"Oh, thanks then." You beam as you unwrap the foil. Sliding down against the side of the counter, you pat on the floor next to you, emitting a content hum when you take the first bite into the meal and press your knee against his when he settles next to you.

“How’s business lately?” Your question is slightly muffled, courtesy of your mouthful of food, but Steve finds it a little funny and cute when you swipe a few crumbs off the corner of your mouth. “Eh, you know, it’s a normal deserted Monday. Quite the hoard of patrons last Saturday, though,”

You suppress a smile, “The hoard being another chick looking to rent out a movie to watch with a date?”

Your best friend groans, squishing the bread of his sandwich between his clenching fingers as he obnoxiously leans all his body weight against you, “Please, spare me the teasing. Robin is bad enough as it is. I don’t think I can handle yours.”

Truth be told, Steve couldn’t care less about said chicks and their dates. Ever since his epiphany and the lecture both Robin and Dustin had given him after he’d moped on about that date you’d gone out to, it was surprisingly easy to brush off everything else for the sake of doing anything related to you.

“Okay, okay. It’s not like I’d want you dating any other person you come across anyway.” You admit, pulling on a piece of lettuce that won’t seem to break off despite your efforts in bitting. It’s especially covered in the ‘secret sauce’ Steve had made, but you frankly wouldn’t care if any got onto your uniform.

“I don’t ask anyone out, L/N, I guess I’m just-” Steve stammers a little over his words, straining the air out of his throat in hopes that you wouldn’t hear although you sit next to him, leg swung over his as you watch him find the right words. “I guess I’ve just been lonely lately.”

Your lips are pursed a little as you adjust and sit up in your position. “I mean, if you put it that way…”

Steve watches (unintentionally hard) when you’re a little in thought, tapping your half-eaten sandwich against your chin. There are still crumbs on your cheek that you’d failed to scrub off, and he resists the urge to do it for you because god what he’d give to just hold you.

“Being lonely isn’t all that bad,” Your eyes cast up to the ceiling lights of the hardware store that flickers a little. “when you’ve got someone to be lonely with.”

Steve cracks out into a grin— a toothy, content one that only you can give him— and slowly brings up the ends of his fingers to swipe at the crumbed skin of your cheek. Seemingly startled (but not opposing), you turn to look at him, laying your sandwich on top of his that rests on your lap.

“How about this,” Steve’s breath tickles your skin and ignites shivers– good ones, like when you watch and enjoy an intense scene that’s reaching the climax of your favorite movie. “You and me, we’ll be lonely together around my place? Watch a movie? I swear I’ll pick out a good one,”

You chuckle, closing your eyes in pure disbelief that Steve Harrington could be potentially, possibly, probably, perhaps, feasibly be asking you out.

“I’m free tomorrow night,” You say in a nonchalant manner, though your chest beats in a racing pulse as you bring a slightly shaky hand up to take another bite out of that god-sent sandwich from a god-sent boy who’d just asked you out on a god-sent date.

Steve, inexplicably happy, stands up and leans down to take his sandwich from your lap, “I’ll pick you up at 8.” He plants his lips on your forehead, you can feel his smile against it, and releases with the most obnoxious and loud smooch noise you’d ever heard, which earns another chuckle from you.

“Don’t be late,” He says, climbing over the cashier counter.

“I won’t,”

“I’ll see you!”

“Thank you for the ham sandwich, Steve.”
