The worst trick a childhood anxiety disorder pulls is, you spend your early years being applauded for being so much more mature than your peers, because you aren’t disruptive, you don’t want any kind of attention, you don’t express yourself, you keep yourself to yourself - this makes you a pleasure to have in class, etc etc - and you start to believe it’s virtue. But you’re actually way behind your peers in normal social development, and who knows if you can ever catch up.

Come get this dick-fil-a

Why do I ship Sabriel?

I ship Sabriel because I sincerely love both of these characters and wish only the best for them. I ship Sabriel because both of them need family – not just a family by blood, not just a “it sort of happened” family, but a family that was chosen knowingly and on their own. I ship Sabriel because I believe that they could build a relationship which would make each of them feel better than when they were alone.

Both of them are painfully addicted to their families. Both of them have tried to run away from their families and concomitant responsibility. But both of them have found the strength to come back. I ship them because they understand each other well because of this.

Sam is very attached to his brother. Gabriel seems to me as the one who could accept it (in fact, already did in a “Mystery spot”) and not to make Sam choose between them. I ship Sabriel because their relationship could fit into the Winchesters’ life without severing the brotherly ties.

Gabriel openly spoke of liking for Dean. Dean openly spoke of understanding Gabriel. I ship Sabriel because Gabriel can become a part of the family.

Sam is a hunter who has lost a lot of people he loved. Gabriel is one of the few people who don’t need to be worried about all the time – at least, worrying too much, as he is himself a part of the supernatural world. I ship them because their relationship is possible in the Winchesters’ universe.

I ship them because of the way they looked at each other when they first met. I ship them for consistently keeping each other emotional. I ship them because they couldn’t stay indifferent to each other from the very beginning.

I saw how Gabriel tortured Sam in the “Mystery spot”. I saw how he stopped because Sam asked him to. I saw how much Sam’s attitude to Dean has changed after that. I ship Sabriel because they can influence each other.

I saw Gabriel leaving Sam because he thought it was right. I saw Sam leaving Gabriel because he thought it was right. I ship them because they still remain their true selves when interacting.

Gabriel is as much of a “deserter” as Sam is a “hero”. Gabriel is as much of an “egomaniac” as Sam is a “martyr”. I ship them because in a best-case scenario together they can balance each other and find a middle ground.

Sam spoke about his faith in angels in 2x13 – and Gabriel appeared in 2x15. Sam spoke about losing his faith is 13x11 – and Gabriel appeared in 13x13. I ship them because Sam deserves a better support of his faith than vain prayers. I ship them because Gabriel can justify this faith.

Sam is almost incapable of having a good rest and Gabriel, apparently, of working. I ship them because their joint activities could be much more productive than when they work alone.

Lucifer. Asmodeus. Not just a torture, but a degrading torture. I ship Sabriel because both of them understand what it’s like and can help each other cope.

Both Sam and Gabriel took serious approach to permanent relationships and respected their partners. They both value their families equally. I ship Sabriel because I think that without this there could be no deep connection and long-term relationship.

I think that Gabriel is a lecher more often in words than in deeds and it’s the same with Sam being a prude. I ship them because I believe in a match of their sexualities on practice.

Sam and Gabriel have different temperaments. But I ship them because that wouldn’t let them be bored with each other and because a high level of understanding wouldn’t let it become a problem and because they hardly could spend so much time together that they would start annoying each other. I ship them because their interaction could be interesting but wouldn’t exhaust them.

I ship them because they could get one dog for both of them.

I ship them because they, within their abilities, tried to protect each other.

I ship them because someone other than Dean could make Sam smile more.

I ship them because Sam can see (and already did that) something human behind Gabriel’s facade.

I ship them… Because of many more reasons. But there is one main thing.

I ship them because they belong together. Because I believe: they could love each other and could have their “happy ever after” for a relatively long time.

That’s why.

My Last Three Brain Cells:

Jesus Christ was a brown Jew in the Middle East, conceived out of wedlock in an arguably interracial if not interspecies (deity and human) relationship, raised by his mother and stepfather in place of his absent father.  He may not have had a Y chromosome.  He spent his early youth as a refugee in Egypt, where his family no doubt survived initially on handouts from the wealthy (You think they kept that gold, frankincense, and myrrh from the wise men?  Hell no, they sold that stuff for food and lodging).  He later returned with his parents to their occupied homeland and lived in poverty.

The religion of Jesus’s people has no concept of a permanent hell and instructed its priests on how to induce miscarriages.  Jesus explicitly rejected the concept of disability as a divine punishment.  He spoke out against religious hypocrites.  He had enough respect for women to let his mother choose the time of his first miracle.  He blessed a same sex couple.  He told a rich man that he must give up his wealth to get to heaven, and also told a parable about a rich man suffering in agony in presumably Gehinnom (basically Purgatory) just to hammer the point home.  He told people to pay their taxes.  He declared “love your neighbor” to be one of the two commandments on which all laws hang.  He commanded his followers to help the poor.  He commanded them to help the sick and the needy.  He spent time with social outcasts.  He healed the servant of a high priest during his arrest rather than fighting back.  He was put to death by the occupying government because he was a political radical.

Trump and his administration are xenophobic, misogynistic, racist, fear-mongering, warmongering, tax-dodging, anti-Semitic, anti-choice, anti-welfare, anti-equal pay, anti-LGBTQIA+, anti-immigration, support tax cuts for the rich, support Citizen’s United, want to keep refugees out of this country, want to limit our ability to speak against the government, plan to abolish the Affordable Care Act, and they wrap all of that up behind a banner of “Christian family values.”  If you support them, you have no right to call yourself a follower of Christ.
