a thing i noticed is he’s sober when he’s just with sofia tho, when they were getting ready for the beach he was sober and he was being all cutesy with her and kissing her. when she was sleeping on the couch and he was looking at her and then their last scene together he was sober and talking about wanting a future with her. he was sober in all those moments. maybe he’s just over the kook life?

For the Latina discourse that’s going around, most of the time Latina’s are being fetished too. White men (not all obviously) especially just see us as people they can hook up with. But since we’re not a white girl, they usually don’t bring us around their families. Depending of course on the situation. Men want latinas cause they assume we’re toxicas. And that we’re feisty and all that shit. That’s why I really love Sofia so much. Cause she doesn’t fit in that mold. I think maybe even the outerbanks writers (I’m assuming here) saw that that wouldn’t be a good direction to go with Sofia. Considering that’s a stereotype. Plus they’re are black latinas too. The Latino community is racist, I won’t lie. we have a long way too go. But I’m just glad we got representation on a show that has a majority of white people. Especially when some shows lack that kind of representation and the actor is actually Mexican! We had to struggle through that shitty Latina representation from On my block. With season 1. So I’m just happy we finally get the real thing. I’m proud of my culture and I’m finally happy we see it on screen

as a daughter of two non-english speaking parents, who has lived in a small southern town and went to school and grew up with nothing but white kids, the fetishization is real!!! the generalization that all latinas are toxic and feisty just isn’t true. i’ve been on the shy and quiet side for most of my life, it wasn’t until after i graduated high school that i started putting myself out there more. the latino community being racist and colorist within their own bounds is a whole different conversation that i could go on about too, but i’ll keep it limited here <3 i remember watching ‘on my block’ and physically cringing at the olivia’s little outburst.. that was definitely a hard watch.

Am I the only one concerned because rafe spend the whole season drinking?

i’ve been wanting to talk about this!! rafe was drinking in nearly every scene he was in.. besides the multiple scenes where he’s clearly tipsy and slurring his words, there’s little details that point towards rafe being an alcoholic this season. he was drinking a lot last season too but not as much as this one. drinking FROM THE BOTTLE at topper’s party where he yelled at that girl, finishing a beer and going to the bar right after saying ‘give me.. whatever’, when he asked hollis if he could have another drink when they had their first meeting and pouring himself like two more drinks instead, all the whiteclaw cans strewn around on rafe’s side when he was talking to sofia at his condo, being drunk and still tossing drinks back when he was talking about sofia behind her back, having a beer in his hand THE WHOLE TIME while him and sofia were at the beach, STILL drinking when he signed the wire transfer papers with hollis during their second meeting, it’s a lot..

The latinas that guys simp over on TikTok don’t even represent!! They are so many different types of latinas we come In different colors! There’s Afro latinas morenas, so to that anon, we aren’t the beauty standard and you sounds stupid💕

okay I get why ur happy cus there hasn’t been any representation of my race either in outer banks and I think I’d be pretty happy if I got representation but what I’m trying to say is that ppl are saying “ugh we never get any representation” except u guys do.. maybe not in outer banks but like just in general you do.
