It’s easy to be with him like this. Easier than you originally thought possible given the years you spent quietly pining for the warmth of his affection. You’re still not sure how it happened. Nor are you certain exactly when the lines of friendship blurred into something more carnal. It seems like just yesterday he first kissed you on this very couch.

He does more than just kiss you now. Rather he ravages you, consumes you whole as often and as eagerly as he can. But friends shouldn’t touch you like Namjoon does. — author’s notes; this has been a long time coming. I’ve been meaning to explore this side of Jungkook’s character more and I finally managed to do so. This is a pretty heavy drabble so I’d completely understand if some of you would rather sit this one out. The timeline is: after bad romance, around mid-summer break.

You wouldn’t have heard the knocking on your door if your research project hadn’t kept you up. 

It was past two in the morning, that much you knew, but your sense of time had long vanished — merely a number at the bottom right corner of your screen, which took big jumps every time you looked away from it. You had just reached line a hundred and fifty six of your spreadsheet, the final one, and you had barely started to commemorate the end of your data revision when those loud, rhythmic knocks ruptured the silence of the living room. 

At some point throughout the day, the world had gotten dark around you, and you didn’t even bother turning on the lights. Combined with the fact that you were alone in your place with no pants on, the idea of answering the door so late (when you weren’t expecting anyone, and no one had asked to be buzzed in) sounded like a great start to another dumb horror movie. Not wanting to be the ditzy protagonist, you were careful as you walked towards the door, standing on your tiptoes to look through the peephole. 

You almost lost your balance. As cliche as it was, you felt the floor dipping beneath your feet, breaking in half and sending you into a pit of anxiety. With shaky hands, you fumbled with the lock and the hundreds of protective measures that Yongsun had installed (which would have been great if you were actually in a horror movie) before, at last, you opened the door with an aggressive movement.

“Jungkook,” his name came out in a hushed tone, somewhere between worry and fear. “Oh my god. What happened?”

And he knows it’s the long, busy week you both had that’s making you like this tonight, extra cuddly and extra sweet to him. He’d almost died when you opened the door to your apartment, so soft and warm in one of his big t-shirts and a pair of shorts so little your ass fell out.

He was whipped, anyone could tell you as much, but Jungkook didn’t care. Sure, he’d been deeply connected with other women before, but the way you made him feel, the comfort and adoration you’ve brought him in only the past six months of dating, was surreal. He knows now, all those other relationships he’d been in? Those flings and short-lived romances? Child’s play compared to the sheer amount of love you drowned him in.
