How did you make the journal entry pictures for your Recalcitrance and Chiaroscuro stories? They are so beautiful and look just like they were taken out of Arthur's journal!
Aw thank you! I try. I try. I came across the Arthur handwriting font on reddit! The whole idea for Chiaroscuro started with Arthur's journal entry, and I thought it'd be cute to make that the "cover". For the writing, I added the font to Procreate and added in the little pencil smudges. I used Dreamstudio AI for the sketch and my profile pic! Getting the ai to make the sketches is so hard though! That's why a lot of the entries are just writing.
I wanted to try double exposure and forgot I had stuff created for double exposure. And I have Arthur Morgan's handwriting as a font now so...why not.
Okay starting research for the Arthur is at least partially deaf in his left ear theory. I’ll have to replay the last three missions of chapter 3 and the first of chapter four, but so far-
When he’s at the end of the dock after the time skip from the end of peacemakers, Swanson approaches from behind/his left. He does appear to hear him coming, but jumps a tiny bit like he didn’t expect Swanson to be that close already
While meeting with Brontë in The Gilded Cage, he stays off to the right. BUT, when they turn around to leave and Brontë is now on his left, he keeps his eyes on Dutch like he’s watching for clues on how to react.
Part of his general ‘don’t like being here’ at the mayors party could come from his hearing being shot*. The overall noise wouldn’t have done him any favors
COUNTERPOINT- he hears Dutch whisper orders to go find information about Cornwall despite Dutch mostly being on his left. However he heard the original conversation and would already know what Dutch wants him to do. Half points
Sits with his left side to the wall during the carriage ride into Saint Denis
COUNTERPOINT- Arthur holds eye contact with people pretty much always, but looking at someone guarantees his good ear would be aimed their direction. Again, half points
Well anticipated Javier photos
Not me thinking about how Arthur losing his picture of Mary because of the mad dash to Shady Belle to get away from the Pinkertons, and then his mother's picture after the failed bank robbery is a representation of how much his life as an outlaw has taken from him.
He doesn't lose the pictures of Dutch and Hosea and his father because they are nailed to his wagon. Arthur is symbolically crucified to his life as an outlaw, sacrificing his own happiness in the process. 😭😭😭
I also think it is a really good metaphor for how that life affected the women round about him too, and shows who has been hurt in the process of Arthur and the gang living the way they do.
