This makes me feel like I'm bidding goodbye to Narnia šš„ŗ
It's gorgeous- whoever wrote this thank you for sharing it~~ šāØ
We skipped around the snow
And danced with the snowdragon
We snuggled around the fire
And gazed across the ocean
Of misty blue eyes
And whispered goodbyes
Do I laugh or cry at how accurate this is?
the unholy trinity of piss-poor caretakers, tag yourself:
tomboy, meaning āthis child is clearly queer but letās hope it goes awayā
sensitive, meaning āclearly neurodivergent and often distressed but letās keep going until they grow numbā
mature, meaning ātraumatized but letās ignore thatā
Here's a Shizuku and Seiji fanfic, you guys~

I'd be glad to know what you think of it <3
Best wishes, Fae~!
A Study of Haikyuu!! Character Names
Ok guys I donāt know if a post like this has gone around, maybe it has, maybe I am saying things people already know because Iām new to this fandom, but seriously. I had noticed that Hinataās and Kageyamaās names were particularly clever in terms of reflecting their characters so I started actually digging into what all the kanji for all the names mean and guys this is delicious. I canāt help it, I have to share.
Hinata Shouyou: Hinataās name is way too obvious but also really cute. His last name ę„å (Hinata) literally means āto face the sunā or āto head towards the sunā which, yes. While ę„å (Hinata) is the first hit I get when I do the turn-these-kana-into-kanji thing, making me think itās pretty common, his given name ēæé½ (Shouyou) seems to not be, which means the kanji were particularly chosen (like most of these names, honestly). ēæ (shou) means to soar, and é½ (you) means sunshine. So Hinataās just sunshine all over.
Kageyama Tobio: 影山 (Kageyama) literally means shadowed mountain, or dark mountain, with å½± being shadow (or silhouette) and å±± being mountain. Basically a massive presence. Meanwhile, é£é (Tobio) is another completely made up name, with é£ (tobi) meaning to fly, and é (o) meaning⦠well, man. But itās not your normal āmanā character, which is ē·. The character in Tobioās name also has the meaning of āheroā behind it. Also, I think there is some of the concept ofĀ āthe shade exists because of the sun,ā or like, maybe thatās just me, I donāt know.
Sawamura Daichi: 澤ę (Sawamura) is, again, not unheard of as a last name. It literally means āswamp villageā which comes across a little oddly to me, especially since å¤§å° (Daichi) means āgreat earth,ā which fits him well, being the foundation of the team.
Sugawara Koushi: This one, like Daichiās name, is a little more obtuse. The last name at least. č å (Sugawara) breaks down to mean āsedge field.ā Sedge (I had to look it up) is apparently a plant that grows in wet areas. Likeā¦. swamps!?? I dunno, ok. But his first name åęÆ (Koushi) is once again a completely made up name. å (kou) is the character for filial devotion/piety/respect, whereas ęÆ (shi) means to support. This kills me ok.
Azumane Asahi: I actually started this post because of Asahi and Noya in particular because THIS KILLS ME THE MOST (except for Ukai but Iāll get there) so ok. Ok. ę±å³° (Azumane) breaks down into ę± (east) and å³° (peak/summit), so weāre talking about the tip top of an eastern mountain ok. His given name, ę, means daybreak, or the sun rising.
Nishinoya Yuu: Are you even ready for this I was not. Noyaās kanji are 脿谷 (nishinoya) which lit translate to⦠脿 (west) č°· (valley). Plus then we throw in his given name of å¤ (yuu) which, guys, guys, it means āevening.ā They are ABSOLUTE OPPOSITES how is this not the most fucking perfect thing ughh.
Tanaka Ryuunosuke: Comparatively, Tanaka gets a pretty boring name. I mean, his last name ē°äø (tanaka) (middle of the rice field) is one of the most common last names in Japan, so I guess the purpose was to try to make him an everyman, in a sense. Although he does have é¾ (ryuu), or ādragon,ā in his first name, which I think feeds the character, he also has ä¹ä» (nosuke) at the end, which is another common suffix for boys and sounds very traditional.
Tsukishima Kei: I find Tsukishimaās name actually quite interesting. I think everyone already knows about how he has ę (tsuki) āmoonā in his last name, naturally, making him Hinataās opposite. 島 (shima), just to be thorough, means āisland.ā Meanwhile, what I find interesting is that his first name, č (kei), is the character for fireflies. I think that suits his personality to a Tālights on, lights off.Ā
Yamaguchi Tadashi: Yamaguchi also has a super common last name: å±±å£ (yamaguchi) literally means the entrance to the mountain. More importantly, his first name, åæ (tadashi), is the character for loyalty and devotion.
Iām gonna skip a few here because I could do everybodyās names but there are like a million characters, so Iām just gonna make sure to also doā¦
Shimizu Kiyoko: ęø ę°“ (shimizu) is an interesting last name because thereās a temple in Kyoto by the name of ęø ę°“åÆŗ, though itās pronounced Kiyomizudera. What probably isnāt surprising is that ęø (shi) means āpurity,ā and ę°“ (mizu) means water. Her given name completely echoes the intent of her last name, with ę½ (kiyo) meaning āundefiled/pure/cleanā, and å (ko) meaning āgirl/child.ā ākoā is also an incredibly traditional sounding piece of girlsā names.
Yachi Hitoka: č°·å° (yachi) are both kanji that have come up in other names; Daichiās and Noyaās, actually. Once again, č°· (ya) is valley, and å° (chi) is earth. Meanwhile, ä» (hito) means ābenevolence/humanity/virtueā, while č± (ka) means āflowerā.
Ok last but not least this really kills me itās so blatant
Ukai Keishin: Totally 100% made up name here. ēé¤ (ukai) breaks down into ē (u) which means crow and é¤ (I assume this is ākaiā but tbh it doesnāt look like thatās a normal reading) which means to ābring up/foster/nurture.ā So his last name means to be a father figure to crows. Then his first name ē¹åæ (keishin) breaks down to ē¹ (kei) āto fasten/tieā and åæ (shin) āheart/mind/soulā so this guyās name QUITE LITERALLY means that he brings the spirits of his little baby crows together. I MEAN.
And obligatory statement: take this all with a grain of salt, I know Japanese well enough that I can say this is close to being accurate but I can still make mistakes, and I welcome any comments or corrections or thoughts!
