It’s been an extremely long day. Contracts were made. Deals and Meetings were held. People being dealt with.

You knew you had a mole. For who? You didn’t know at the time but you knew that it was only a matter of time before they slipped up. And when they did, you would be ready to strike. 

And strike you did.

You truly liked Jay. He was a great marksman but… There’s plenty more of them in this world and sadly, he was the one who revealed himself to be anything but loyal.

When you took over for your father you knew it wasn’t going to be easy. You tried to instill that you demanded loyalty and respect even as you rose through the ranks before the inevitable happened. And it came tenfold the day you took over. His men knew if you were willing to murder your own family then you would do the same to them. Your mother always taught you to give respect when it’s due but never be blindsided. Never let your guard down. The fact remains that you’re still a meek woman in their eyes and there will be people who believe you’re weak and fragile. Unworthy of holding the crown.

You release a frustrated sigh right the minute you step into the shower. The warm water cascades down your body causing you to relax a little more, soothing the stiff muscles that were caused from the stress of the day. Unwinding comes to mind when you think of that bottle of scotch you have hidden in your cupboard. It’s calling your name. You need to let loose.

You watch the blood that was stained against your hands, face, and chest swirl down the tub and into the drain. The grime of the day makes you feel sicker by the minute when you remember that this was your family’s blood. More specifically, your father and brother. They say blood is thicker than water but you beg to differ. Your father was a prick and your brother was his little pawn. His puppet. His little bitch. He would do anything that man asked of him even if the morals of the deed were sketchy. There was an inkling of hope that you thought your brother would choose your side over your fathers when he saw the chaos your father brought. And with everything you’ve been through. But… He proved to be just as traitorous as him.
