The priest couldn’t help the smirk that was forming on his pale face. Never- Not once did he think he would cross paths with this loathsome man again, but he never forgot his face, those eyes that matched Kirei’s own. They were empty, almost soulless. It was unsettling how similar they were, and perhaps that was why Kirei felt such a seething hatred towards him.

Yet he felt drawn to him, his heart raced at the memories of the past. It was so long ago, yet it felt like yesterday. It may be that this man had filled the emptiness in Kirei’s life, even if for a short amount of time.

Usually, Kirei would just ignore people and Servants alike unless they had approached him first, but he could not shake the feeling he was getting. Why did he feel adrenaline rushing through his body? Nothing in particular had happened, could just seeing this man cause such a reaction?

“The cold shoulder. How cruel.”

It was a restrained voice that came from sneering lips that spoke with much thinly-veiled anger and hatred. Malice, insidiousness, vileness and misery seemed to seep from every of the priest’s imposing form like a poison, choking the life of all those who would dare even draw near. But the Assassin cared for it as much as he cared about the man that it belonged to, and merely stared Kirei down with a vacant gaze truly suiting one who threw away everything to become a bloodless, tearless measuring machine. There was no fear for him, nor suffering, nor joy, nor anger---only his orders and the mission. Nothing else.

Nothing else...

If there existed anything in this heart that had all but frozen to necrosis currently, it was just a bit of curiosity of what happened in that other time between him and the priest. 

“At any rate, don’t call me by that name. You may know of that man but he and I are different people. No matter what miracles might occur, that wont change. If you have any grievances towards him that’s just your own business. It has nothing to do with me.”
