so my explanation as to why Iterator puppets look so vastly different to (and much more humanoid than) the (far less humanoid) Ancients is that they were designed with public appearance and approachability in mind. they were to be the mascots of their cities, a public figure, and as such they were built to look nothing like Ancients in an attempt to avoid the uncanny valley effect realistic robots often fall under. purposefully alien, coincidentally humanoid. incidentally, this also made it far easier for Iterators to be dehumanised and not properly recognised for the individuals they were
