I know you mentioned making more fic rec lists but off the top of your head what are your very fave fics?

this list is genuinely just the first things that came to mind. there are other fics out there that i absolutely love and enjoy, but these stand out in my memory for one reason or another.

Out of play, out of competition by thenorthfaceaka: the wilso/latts bachelor!au that i love to death and cannot reccomend enough to everyone and is 140k of the good kind of pining and slowburn friends to lovers content that we all need

The Washington royals by screamlethonestly magic. backstrom/ovechkin arranged marriage!au royalty!au in which they both still play hockey and i love it. 

earthquake weather by delightfulalotbennguin rule!63 in which jamie and tyler try to make a long distance relationship work. warning for angst but it gets resolved and is over all a delightful piece of work.

Burn Our Fingers and Change Our Names by Linskyor the one in which tyler seguin is a werewolf and doesn’t know it and it’s fucking hilarious (and full of pining). werewolfau a/b/o bennguin

A Good Education by rsadellebrioux, post-retirement-didn’t-get-bought-out!danny fic in which danny goes to college and navigates his relationship with Claude as it becomes something more than he ever wanted to think it could. good shit.

that girl is a goddamn problem by wonthetradeMcEichel rule63!au series in which most things are the same but Jack Eichel is a girl and she and Connor McDavid do a lot of hate fucking turned friends turned lovers. really good. i’ve read it like three times and i would honestly go back and read it again right now despite my last re-read being three days ago.

as long as it’s about me by Anonymousmarnthews hate fucking to lovers? auston hates the media forcing mitch’s friendship on him. anyway i love it. 

King and Lionheart by thehoydenLook, this fic is on everyone’s sidgeno rec lists for a reason. it’s a lovely fic of some beautifully worked tropes and even though i’ve gone off the pairing lately, I can’t not include it on this list. marriage of convenience!au 

If Heaven’s Hypothetical by impertinence and shoemaster jeff skinner is a homeless runaway who somehow ended up serving eggs to eric staal in a carolina diner. this fic is so super good and is what really got me into this ship.

Summer Brave; Winter Bare by derryderrydownum. tomas hertl/jaromir jagr soulmate!au? 

Bad Press by marycontrairebrioux, danny and claude’s relationship gets accidentally outed on instagram by one of danny’s kids. everyone is super supportive of them. which would be great- if they hadn’t broken up when danny went to montreal. would read could read a hundred thousand times. claude is a great step mom.

In Twenty Minutes Time

The rain seems to be inescapable even as they descend the stairs into the train station. The water rushes around their feet, soaking their shoes even further until they step further onto the platform.

Sid closes his umbrella and points it away from himself before he shakes out the extra moisture. Beside him Flower shakes like a dog and says “at least it’s not snow.”

“Oh, god, I wish,” Sid says back and Flower rolls his eyes and takes his cap off his head so he can slick back his hair.

“You say that now but just you wait. This isn’t your tiny hometown, Sidney. Here, you get maybe an hour, maybe, before the plows fuck it all up and all that pretty snow turns to muddy slush.”

“You make Montréal sound so beautiful.”

Flower grins. “We’re happy to have you.”

Sidney unconsciously held Lyosha a little tighter as they neared customs. He was dragging his feet; every inch closer to the exits was another inch closer to his empty little apartment in Laval. He would have offered for Geno to stay there, and then maybe it wouldn’t have felt so empty, but Geno mentioned on the plane that had already rented a place in Montréal. He had talked about how excited he was to finally see it…and Sid had tried not to feel disappointed about how far away it was from his own apartment. It was all pointless, really. No matter how much they looked like a family standing in this line, Sidney had to constantly remind himself that he’d only known these people for a few hours.
