i hate it. i hate queerphobia. i hate that i see so many people who are resigned to never come out to their family because they know they won't be accepted. i hate that people are fucking homeless because they're queer. i hate that coming out is a terrifying experience for so many people. i hate that some people see positive coming out stories and all they want is for that to happen to them. i hate my greatest fear is being outed, of all things. i hate that queer people can publicly be called slurs and nobody even does anything to stop it. i hate that some people have to detransition for their own safety. i hate that something as little as liking a queer celebrity, or watching a show that has a queer character, or having a queer friend can bring hate upon someone. i hate that queer characters in media aren't normalized. i hate it. i hate all of it.
important!!!
transcript:
A person with a somewhat masculine voice says in a higher pitched tone, âBlue hair is weird!â They then change their voice to their regular tone, and say, âIâm gonna teach you this how I would teach a child. I donât know your life story, but for the sake of making this an educational video, Iâm gonna use stereotypes, so only take what resonates with you.
One child is born in a seemingly functional, to their awareness, loving family, while the other is getting quite the opposite. You canât choose that youâre born with it, so youâre put out in this world and the majority of your peers are like you, and the majority of your teachers, parents and authority are like you, and the majority of the media out there is showing people like you. So all of the kids that are not depicted by this media feel erased and different immediately from the time theyâre born, how they are born. You may feel too feminine as a boy, too masculine as a girl, like youâre in the wrong body, like you donât think exactly neurotypically as everyone else, youâre too thin, youâre too thick, youâre too dark, youâre not dark enough. Kids like this immediately understand the struggle of not being accepted by the majority, and if itâs not the peers doing it, keep in mind they have the same authority and media only depicting the majority of one type of person.
So both the outcasts and the masses are gonna ask the same question of how do I fit into society, and the majority of the authority and media is gonna be saying things like âGod is the answer,â âman marries woman,â âgirls are this way, boys this way.â You have a set amount of rules that if you have no reason to question, youâre not gonna disagree with. But when this world has taught you itâs not for people like you, youâre gonna ask, âwhy is it that way?â which brings us to, âwho is teaching us this?â Oh, people from this era or earlier, whoâs making this stuff, people in this era or earlier, âLet me do my research on who taught them that stuff.â
A common flaw with human beings is that they accept societal norms that are only in place for a little bit over their lifetime because they never lived to see a reason to question it. When you are born in a world thatâs seemingly against you, you have reason to research why these traditions are in place, and you say, âWow, if I happened to be born in the 1900s, pink was for boys and blue was for girls, and cheerleading is for boys and heels are for men, and the bible was changed to be anti-gayâ. Itâs almost like what we are taught is unreliable and not inherently factual, and in the time this was being taught, no one in the masses was disagreeing.
Everyoneâs born in a box, but we werenât all born with default settings, so we learned that humans can express themselves however they want. The way you think that only natural hair colors is normal, or how you dress is the right way, or blue hair automatically makes you weird, or pronouns equals liberal, that is taught to you. If this existed in the 1900s, this would be awesome [he points at blue hair], and this would just be english language [he points at pronouns]. When youâre wildly accepted by the masses, I see why you wouldnât want to step down, youâre at the top of the pyramid. But the reason that we dye our hair blue is that the only people that wildly accepted us are other people who werenât afraid of being different.
Now listen, maybe you just like authentically being a part of the masses, maybe your true self likes this stuff, thatâs fine. But you also have to acknowledge that you were taught to avoid anything that would get you bullied or a negative reaction by the masses. So therefore, whoâs really the top of the pyramid? [He flips the pyramid drawing upside-down].â

The Best Man Regulus Black x fem!reader
Summary: you meet siriusâs brother at the wedding and realizes heâs more nervous than he seems. Big thank you to Summer for helping me come up with this idea! [Â FLUFF ]
[ wolfstar wedding, mentions of alcohol, swearing, no peter anywhere ]

Being at the wedding of your best friends can be quite exciting, because youâre the sole person who can walk up to anyone and say, âhi, I know the grooms more than anyone at this party! You donât even know their favorite flavour from Bertie Bottâs Every Flavour Beans!â
Itâd be weird if you did say that but you get what I mean. Itâs the only place you can be proud to show off how well you know Remus and Sirius, and after suffering years with them at Hogwarts, you knew a lot.
But even then, you were curious. There were a lot of people you didnât know, and some familiar faces with no names. Especially the one who had a star tattoo on his wrist.Â
âYour best man is hot,â you remarked later to Sirius at the wedding reception.Â
Under any other circumstances, Sirius would have spat out the pumpkin juice he was drinking, but under the glare of his new husband, he felt almost-spitting was better.
âThatâs my baby brother!â He said defensively.
