Finally, another person has said it! I love Ryuji so much but my dude... That was poor timing so that slap was deserved (I sure as hell would have done the same if I were in her position). Everything else, like you said, wasn't. I just pretend that the last half of this bit and both the bath house scenes in Strikers just didn't happen. Also, it does get mentioned later in Royal... As a Thieves' Den conversation between Ann, Makoto, and Futaba which is nice but even then it kind of came off as lazy imo (especially when you intrepret them as just cognitions and not the real ones) since they could have easily utilized it in the base game since they ended up adding and changing small details here and there.

SPOILERS FOR PERSONA 5 (SHIDO ARC)

Look, I know most people pointed out that Ryuji getting beaten by his PT teammates at the end of Shido’s palace was garbage. I still thinks it’s hot garbage, too.

BUUUUT, I also wanna pay attention to the fact that Ryuji says a dumb joke about the girls’ crying not being “cute” when he came back from the ship explosion. Like bro, your friends thought you almost DIED for crying out loud. And yeah, I know Ryuji can be scatterbrained at times, but he should have the decency and common sense to read the air. So Ann slapping him was well-deserved.

…anything that happened after that didn’t need to happen, though.
