I love how every single conclusion you make here is based completely on assumptions. Literally every. Single. One. It’s honestly sad that so many people can fall for it.

From Centipeetle drawing her hair green.

From Blue Diamond’s hair appearing dark in the Answer (and conveniently forgetting that every character in the episode was meant to be monochromatic).

To how White Diamond can apparently alter memories, despite the fact she hasn’t even gotten a namedrop in the show.

I am baffled by how many notes this half-assed theory has gotten, and I hope I never see it on my dash again. Unless of course this was a joke, in which case completely disregard this addition.

Blue Diamond Theory

Stop me if y'all’ve heard this before, but I just brought together a Steven Universe theory. 

So there’s a theory going around that White Diamond has the power to alter memories, right? This is supported largely by Centipeetle’s drawings where her memories are ‘whited out.’ 

She also draws her and her crew with green hair in all pics before the Whiteout. That could just be for the sake of ease, but you never know.

It’s also generally accepted that the attempt to remember is what worsens the corruption.

Now this’ll seem like a tangent, but it’ll all come together by the end.

We are all pretty familiar with this image by now:

Now I’d like to juxtapose the above with the following, focusing mostly on the hair.

You could try to say that the dark blue hair in the mural is just her cowl, but take a closer look at the gif. Even if that is the case, something is off.

While we can’t very clearly see her hair color in the above gif (though given that it’s the exact same shade as the rest of the cowl when there’s enough light to shine on both her lips and her diamond makes me inclined to believe that it is a shade of blue, rather than white), we can see that it does not go across her chest as it does in the modern day:

Now, some people who have pointed out the hair change just chalk it up to the crewniverse having been unsure of her design. While that’s not impossible, it does seem super unlikely lmao.

What seems more likely to me personally, and this is where I’m gonna tie it all back together, is that Blue changes because of White Diamond (or her currently unknown agents) directly.

See, we know a couple things. One, that Blue believes that Pink was shattered by Rose via a Sword:

(Can’t find a subbed gif, but there’s her whole “It was a SWORD” thing during the trial.)

Two, that Rose’s sword can never shatter any gem, much less a Diamond:

So here we have:

* Centipeetle having a tampered-with memory *Centipeetle having white hair (but drawing herself and her crew with green hair before the white diamond memory tampering) *Centipeetle having named the diamond authority as the people who tampered with said memory *Centipeetle being corrupted as a result.

*Blue having blue, or at least, noticeably different hair before Pink’s shattering *Blue having misinformation (or faulty memory) regarding Pink’s shattering *Blue now having white hair.

Soooo tldr: White Diamond fucked with Blue’s memory just like she did with the Centipeetle crew’s. This left all of them with white hair.

And just for shits and giggles, let’s have a bonus round.

Guess who else has solidly white (and not tinted, as with Holly Blue, Opal, Malechite, Jasper pre-corruption, etc) hair?

Bonus bonus round:

If White Diamond tampering with memories gives gems white hair, and if that is also tied to gem corruption, and if touching on the forgotten and/or altered memories quickens that corruption, it would add an entire other dimension to Yellow Diamond wanting to get the trial over with as quickly as possible. (Also, why she wants to keep Blue away from all of Pink’s stuff, beyond that just being her style of grieving)

If White Diamond altered Blue’s memories, as I suspect she did, then Yellow (who hasn’t changed, as far as I can tell) would want to prevent any corruption of Blue that might come as a result.

Sensitive Tumblr Help

So tumblr staff, for some unknown reason (?????) decided to put a ban on what they call “Sensitive Content.” 

This would be fine if it ACTUALLY RESTRICTED SENSITIVE CONTENT. None of the nasty blogs following me are restricted at all, but other, totally SFW posts are???

Like, so far I’ve seen a video of a turtle, gifs of a kpop star blowing a kiss and waving, and a moodboard with some lesbians on it (not kissing, not naked, just laying there, being lesbians) all restricted by this sensitive content thing. 

So, here is one way for you to view sensitive content on browser (sorry mobile, I can’t help you)

1. First, go to chrome (idk how you do this on safari)

2. Go to tumblr, obviously

3. Right click on the blue part of the screen and click Inspect

4. This thing will pop up some where on your screen! Cool!

5. See that bottom part with all the red, angry text? Look down there and click on the gear (settings symbol) in the upper right hand corner

6. A box appears! Click the 🚫 button and uncheck the box labeled Autocomplete from history (not necessarily in that order)

7. Reload the page and enjoy your content!

You should be good after that (if you still find restricted posts, try pressing the 🚫 button again and reloading page again.

I’m really tired of seeing people broken up into labels of absolutes.

People are not just “good” or “bad”.

People are not a list of labels. 

People are complex, situations are complex.

I know, that makes it a lot harder when you want to just write off everything someone’s ever done as bad – but that’s not how people actually are, and it would do everyone good to stop pretending they are.

I am tired of hearing about the fear people have in putting themselves out there. And it is a scary thing! Putting yourself out there means subjecting yourself to people who want a really good reason to tear you down, who will jump at the first chance to feel “good” by labeling someone else as “bad”.

I reject this. I reject the idea that there should be fear in speaking up and talking about experiences and trying to reach an understanding of a situation.

I’m unhappy to see people spitefully urging others to cut off ties with their friends under the guise of “well, that person’s just inherently bad, so if you talk to them you’re bad too.” That is fucked up. You definitely have the right to let the friend know you don’t want to hear about whoever troubles you, but you do not at all have the right to decide who their friends should be. This includes guilt trips.

Anyway, just try to be more aware of others. Everyone else is a person like you. They might not have the same experiences as you. They might not understand how their words are harmful, or how what they’re doing is wrong. They certainly won’t if you never tell them.

Most people are trying to be good, but they’re going to mess it up sometimes. Try to keep that in mind. Even when people do really fucked up shit, sometimes they are trying to do good. “The road to hell is paved with good intentions” and all that.

Nothing gets solved, no growth happens when you put people into a box from which you’ll never let them escape.

Yes, you absolutely must be careful about people who have tendencies and patterns that are harmful to you. Sometimes people try to overcome those patterns and they fail, and you have to distance yourself from them: that is the sad reality of life. Sometimes though, they can overcome it. But they certainly won’t if the first thing you do is write them off after a fuck up. 

Be sincere. Use your best judgment.

HOW TO FACT-CHECK ON TUMBLR

A few notes:

Do this for every informative/news-related post you want to reblog. The fewer reblogs a false report gets, the less it spreads.

The best thing you can do for a false report is not reblog it at all, OR start your own post to debunk it, with a link to the original. If you reblog to debunk it, your reply will get lost in the huge amount of notes, and you will just end up spreading the misinformation further.

Sometimes a totally unlikely story turns out to be true! It’s even more fun to reblog it when you’ve confirmed that it’s real.
