A friend and I have been playing through the Darkside Detective games, and HOOOO BOY as if I could play a niche indie game and NOT immediately fall in love. So, here is a redraw of the second game’s official banner art thingy.

I got bored this morning, so I decided to sit down and finally get this idea I had for an TADC oc i had down on paper.

This is Minnie the Mime. She doesn’t have a mouth and, unlike the other characters with mouths, can’t speak. She used to be able to speak, she was quite the fan of it, but after being transported to the digital circus, she lost the ability completely.

In the story line, she would probably be before Queenie and Kaufmo’s abstractions, but she wouldn’t last long before her inability to speak or move without running into an invisible object finally got to her.

This was more of a challenge I gave myself rather than an actual oc. I wanted to make a character that seemed like it really belonged in the world. I probably won’t do much with her but that didn’t stop me from also putting her into my fav au.

Oh my golly hihihi un-named friend. Thank you for giving me an excuse to lore dump.

The entire history of Exernia takes place over billions of years, so I’d never be able to get it out in one tumblr post. Not to mention I’d like to leave some things in the dark in case I ever finish writing that comic.

So we’ll start with the beginning. :)

It all started with a sleeping god. No one knows how it got there, where it came from, or who it is, but there’s been no one around to question it either. It sleeps in an endless void, an incomprehensible vat of nothingness.

But then it wakes up.

Immediately, the creation god takes out its eyes and morph them into new, smaller gods; Life and Death. Then, with the aid of the new gods, they create many more using various parts of the creator, hands, feet, ears, etc, etc.

As the god’s final action of creation, it rips out its heart, and creates the universe. This kills the creator and sparks discourse in the godly community. There were hundreds of gods at this point, and each one had a different idea of who should rule the universe.

War breaks out and leads to only two gods surviving. These two used to be the gods of Time and Emotion, but they had to take on the roles of the dead gods and turned into Mortality and Soul.

Neither one decided to take on the role of ‘The creation god’ however. And a concept can not go without a god.
